Hooch is good. Stir it in. Don’t throw it out.

Thanks for the simple explanations. There were so many that’s so complicated! Thanks again ❤

Phew. Just in time. I was about to throw mine out! You also answered my other question inadvertantly. I wasn't sure if I had to "activate" my starter again before making bread again. Thanks. I am new to this. I was about to give up.

Do you have to let it come to room temperature before feeding it ? Thank you 😊

When you take from your dormant starter do you just place it back in the fridge and repeat the process when you want to bake again?

Why are you tossing out the hooch?

I thought you're not supposed to pour off the hooch, but stir it in..heard a guy on another video say🤔

You can do it either way. I prefer to pour it off. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I made starter the other day, and it bubbled up nicely. I didn't know when it was done, and now it smells like beer. When is it done? When it's doubled in size?

What if it’s pink on top?

Pink, orange, yellow, blue is mold. Start over.

I just got a starter from Baker creek but while it came w/ instructions on how to make the bread (once the starter is active) its doesn’t say how to start it! 😭
    Do u have any recommendations?

Days 1,2,3 add 1/2 c water, 1/2 cup king brand flour
      Day 4 and 5 add 1/4 c flour and 1/4 c water.
Ready day 5 but I waited until day 6. Store in counter or fridge
From Fridge feed, let get to room temp
I left on counter over night to get to room temp.
Stir before use, take out what you need, feed again put straight into fridge
      Once fed.
