How come they never use noise gates , always so much fees back. And the guitars sound never cuts through the sound as a whole. Maybe it's my crappy speaker. Breakdowns sound great.
So glad i was able to make this set, i spent most of Terrors set which was right before this in medical because I was crowdkilled and knocked out. Made it back right before Nails started tho so im thankful i was able to watch the full set
Only time I have seen Nails was at a TIHC and it’s when Todd had no hair and was in the leather jacket phase. Odd seeing him with hair and just a tshirt and jeans, haha.
So one of their last gigs in the 90`s in Derby, England. They were shit, really disappointing, thought it was a cover band at first. On record they were good.
Dude’s a monster. Check out Warbringer. Super sick thrash band. That’s been his main project for years and I was so hyped when he was announced as Nails’ new drummer
All of that karate stuff is the silliest stuff imaginable. I come from the 1980 Death Metal scene and I’ve e constantly have been going to concerts for 40 years. I mean there hasn’t been a gap of years in those 40 years, every single year 40-80 a year every year. Back in the day if someone did that they would have been leaving in an ambulance to the hospital. Completely ridiculous
Totally, ha. It's a "Hardcore scene" thing. I'm glad people are expressing themselves but it actually seems more like they're conforming rather than just running around going nuts like in a normal Thrash/Death Metal pit. Meh.
They're just dancing and trying to look cool. 15 ninjas and the whole crowd hugging the walls. Lame as fuck, especially when a fucking sick band like NAILS is playing.
@@RogerHurlburt-ym7wi No we're not lol, Thrash shows and Death Metal shows happen constantly and there's no karate-chopping in their pits. It's a "hardcore" thing. Which I'm sure you know.
@@antimaxsmacks I was involved in the HC scene in the 80s and 90s and went to plenty of metal shows as well. This stupid didn't happen until after 2000.
Interesting, this sounds nothing like I remember - but I haven't listened to them since Unsilent Death. They sort of had a grindcore/powerviolence sound. This isn't bad! Just not what I expected having not listened to them in years. The show looked fun.
@@fakewingsbeforedawnDude, I have been to hardcore shows before (Youth Brigade, Agnostic Front, etc). We used to circle the pit and push each other. This flailing is something new (or contained in a certain sub sub group of HC).
Seems like the trend started early 2000s and took off after 2010. Recently went to a show that included an interesting bill of hardcore, deathcore and thrash elements. Seemed the crowd didn't know what to do - actually witnessed a group of four dudes line dancing in the middle of the pit - and one frontman was practically begging the crowd to body surf. "I'm not leaving until you mfs are moving around and surfing this thing!!" Lol. I seem to remember people doing that simply because they couldn't contain it. Still do I suppose. But it seemed less rote, more heart. Meh... Been seeing shows for 30+ years and it's been wild to watch the crowds evolve. The flailing arms and spin kicks, though...sorta fascinating.
Excellent video and Track by them.. 1 of my favorite... BUT, what is up with all that silly as fuck "karate chop" bullshit going on in the Pit...?? Stupidest thing I have ever seen in my life..

strange but accurate

Opening with wide open wound is lethal
That’s what I was thinking. And then going right into You Will Never Be One Of Us is even crazier
Nails is like fine wine. Gets better with age.
what a perfect opening song man. cant wait to see them one day.

rough weekend for that kick drum head
No way arm flailing is more fun than "regular" moshing and circle pits for this NAILS set.
Looks like a workout video.
Don’t go to shows
Quit along time ago because it all sucks. @Sillypond
It is more fun and these are the kind of shows Nails always played
Old man here, in the old days I sat down at a Tori Amos show, there, is that helpful?
one of the hardest bands of all time
Abandon All Life one of their best albums
without a doubt

in a sea of baggy pants todd chooses to wear skinny jeans. never change todd.

of course he’s got the black air forces on too
@@eku_adamhe probably still wears leather jackets, and all that’s changed is he grew hair lol.
Rudimentary Peni shirt, you don't see that every day.
Maybe not at a hardcore festival
Not at the metal core beat down fashion show, no.
Got some blinko prints on my wall, and Primal Screamer. I see it nearly every day. Love RP!

Hardcore is punkz.
New drummer is fucking cracked.
He plays with Warbringer too. I didn't know he was with Nails until I saw this video lol.
Carlos Cruz! Also sometimes plays with Power Trip. Unstoppable drummer!

We live in a time when lighting guys have an easy job.
But the band deserves a damn good mention to put on a show if they do decide because this band is amazing amazing amazing
Can't wait to see these guys with Obituary in a couple of months
How come shows always have a group of people standing on stage now doing nothing?
Shut up Smitty
Everyone apparently just wants to look cool.
It's like they're watching the ninjas, not the band.
