Can't he be arrested for contempt of court? Can't his assets simply be seized and auctioned like so many millions of poor people's property who's homes were taken during foreclosures?

Hi Chuck. No, that's the point of bankruptcy. You have to pull all the assets and then distribute them in a fair and rational way to the various creditors. Note, though, that Moss and Freeman's argument is that he still owes them all the money despite the bankruptcy.
@@TalkingFeds bankruptcy cannot be used to avoid paying a judgment in such a case. Besides, a bankruptcy judge is just dismissed Giuliani’s claim.

@@TalkingFeds- So, he did a Chapter 13, rather than a Chapter 7, with organizing his assets and debts and arranging payments. He is certainly taking a long time to pay Ruby Freeman and Shea Moss. Maybe he could get SOMEthing to these women.

He has only about five cents on the dollar. At most. And lawyers will take a big cut. They'll end up with a lot more money that they would otherwise have had. Perhaps enough to pay for the pain, perhaps not. Rudy will end up living on a court-allowed allowance. (I wonder if he managed to squirrel some money away with his son or friends.)

Throw him in jail. Bankruptcy fraud is a federal offense.
And yet mere bankruptcy seems to be too kind to him.
That means that if you need to declare bankruptcy you should register as a republican first so that the courts leave you alone while flout the bankruptcy laws.

"SLAMMED in Court"???!!!!??????? No, that is not even close to true. This is reporting saying that he has constantly and consistently thumbed his nose at the law and his victims but absolutely nothing was done about it. Another hearing in 3 weeks while he continues to waste and hide money to keep his victims from getting it. A court order that he has flatly refused to do for over a year but he's a free man spending each month about twice the average salary. The only people that were 'slammed' today where his victims who the court still refuses to even try to get a small measure of justice for and the public at large who are told they have to obey laws but people like Giuliani don't.

@@BonnieJoStatler Plus this is a civil case, not a criminal one. There is no pardon for a civil judgment. Trump can't pardon him from his state law crimes, and no one can make his civil liabilities go away.

The minute anyone else files bankruptcy, their cards are canceled and balance due immediately, suspended of course but not allowed to grow except interest. How can they allow him to continue to spend with no security. Bank regulators should be investigating today the banks extending those cards!!!

Under Australian law, as soon as he was convicted, all his finances would have been placed under administration by a court appointed accountant and he would have to ask the accountant for money to live. Unfortunately, due to the way American laws have been made, the rich and famous are treated completely different from other citizens.

Why does it seem that the Justice System seems to have no problem with ordinary people being left homeless and having to live in an alley in a cardboard box but seems reluctant to see the same thing happen to Rudy Giuliani?
