That escape proof transfer method is defenatly a work of art, I would say it's between the best performance and the best contemporary dancing I have ever seen, far better than anything else. Emotion spikes, and calm, good ending, better than every disney movie 10/10.
Have fun with your new spiny murder bugs :D And yeah, not selling them at the moment, sorry. I'm still building up my own stock and I sell the rest to a local shop in bulk. Dealing with packing and sending packages all over europe is a but too much work for me at the moment. I might start selling them eventually and I will announce that on my channel.
Looks like Leucocoprinus birnbaumii which is harmless. But mushrooms are hard to identify and can be pretty poisonous. I would get rid of it just to be sure.
I think the mushroom might be Leucocoprinus birnbaumii. For a human, if you eat a dozen of them, your stomach might be upset... Not really poisonous. But i don't know what the effects are on spiders :/
Got out of the hobby about 20 years ago and I am just blown away at how far things have come. It took me 10 years of of hard work and heartbreaks to accumulate the knowledge that you cover in an hour of vids. For now I'm happy to live vicariously through you and your collection but I have a feeling that will not last long. Just way too much cool new stuff out there now. I always found it vary interesting to origins of the tarantulas and hade a large world map that I put a pin in. I think it may make a good visual if you can do something like that
I just recently started in the hobby. 2 years ago I'd have never thought I'd like Tarantulas, but now I love them. Beautiful creatures that need to be respected. I have a Pink Toe (A. Avicularia), and an Arizona (Desert) Blonde. I plan to get more as well! I'm glad for channels like Dark Den and Exotics Lair who have shown me how much personality T's can have!
I wanted to ask you how your mite problem was?? never heard update thanks again. keep the AWESOME videos coming love the channel an also am a proud patron support for dark den🖒
WOW the species of tarantulas that are available in your country are incredible! I'm from Australia and yes we have tarantulas but nothing like these. Absolutely stunning
You here too, Tom? Ha, love your videos. I wish I could send you some too, but sadly that's neither possible nor practical. These P. horrida are super exensive in the US for some reason (like $20 for one of the small nymphs), but there are other species of assassin bugs (Platymeris) that you could take a look at. You won't regret buying some, trust me :)
Hey, bud...thanks! I have a colony of Platymeris sp. mombo at the moment, and I love those guys. They just reproduced for me, too, which is fantastic (the little nymphs are adorable!). I'll definitely keep a lookout for the P. horrida. :)
It needs to be said, I started watching your videos about two days ago or so when one of your videos was randomly recommended to me and I've been kinda marathoning everything on the channel since then. I'm actually really scared of spiders too but seeing you with them and how passionate you are kinda put me at ease about them, and hell, some of the tarantulas you have are actually really beautiful! Keep up the good work man.
I myself wasn't a big fan of any bugs, but I mainly had a problem with spiders, but I find some of the species to be quite beautiful, and rather fascinating! Keep it coming!
The dark den .. Ur videos are awesome ..first Video I saw was feeding the dark devil so that name attracted me and I saw that video...after that I saw ur every video ever since ... Long time ago I used to fear spiders but now I want a tarantula so badly..😄😄 Good work ..keep it up :)
Your videos are awesome, I've been wanting to start my own collection but I've never owned a spider before. Very informative on how to feed transfer and everything else.
Those fungi are Leucocoprinus birnbaumii. They are poisonous, but I don't expect your resident tarantula would bother with them. I may be wrong though, so you may want to play it safe and do a substrate change. Beautiful fungi though, I love them!
I captured a big ass Brown Recluse spider in a jar and started researching that they can live months without food and water so I started putting bugs and other spiders in there and it so awesome watching the spider attack them
Do you think you could buy an A. Chalcodes? They're really pretty and I can't find much info online. it would be great if you made a video for the species husbandry. Great video as always!
Basically you just want to keep them dry and at room temperature and they will do fine. For a more in depth guide use this link: tomsbigspiders.com/2015/04/14/aphonopelma-chalcodes-the-desert-blonde/
What a bunch of spiny little cuties! I have to try hard to like these guys, because I am allergic to our local assassin bugs, Triatoma rubida--the Sonoran kissing bugs. They sneak into your bedding at night and bite you, and their venom has local anesthetic in it so that you don't know you've been bitten until they have finished feeding. The bite swells up the size of a full dinner plate and becomes a horrible suppurating wound that doesn't heal for weeks or months and sometimes leaves an awful scar. Also, when I get bitten, every place I've ever BEEN bitten in the past breaks out into hives and my throat starts to close up. Pretty horrible! The cowboys named them kissing bugs, because they used to climb up on their bed rolls around their campfires and bite them on their lips and chins, the first part of them sticking out from under the blanket on cold desert nights. Hard to believe that such tiny little guys can wreak so much havoc!
Hey this video was awesome, I love how you handle everything well and teach me about how to care for tarantulas, you've inspired me to raise my own tarantula. Thank you
I start following him for about 3 mouths ago. When you have around 15.000 subs, and look at it now. You Will soon hit 100.000. you are doing a great job ! Keep it up
I've always wondered how do the enclosures smell when you open them? I used to keep black and brown widow spiders when I was younger and the enclosure always smelled. LOL.
Dark all your videos are incredible! Also extremely informative thank you ! 1 request that I think the whole community will appreciate is more videos , keep it up man you inspired me to keep working towards my dreams ! Just like you bro
The dark den do you have any trapdoor spiders if not you should look at getting one there so cool when they eat I want one but I'm unable to so it would be cool to see one here
I like to watch ur videos really funny and educational its nice te see somebody that cares so much about all the creepy crawlers keep up the good work mate
Guilty, however, I have a pretty good idea of the content before viewing and have no problem providing this high quality creator with some positive feedback. Every little bit helps, and the guy deserves every bit of it. IMO :D
loved your videos, one of the few channels regarding Ts that i subscribed. saw you have your hollow logs for Ts, how do you usually treat those logs if you got them from wild? Also the dead leaves, mine get molds on it very easily. Maybe is because of my country humid climate? I am from Malaysia. :)
I've always had reptiles/amphibians, and spiders/tarantulas have always been my least favorite animals. That being said, my opinion is slowly changing after coming across your channel by accident. The respect you show to your animals and fans is truly awesome! I don't know if I will ever love arachnids but thanks to you I do have a healthy respect and appreciation for them. Cheers from Colorado!
Your Ybyrapora diversipes is exactly like mine in behaviour, not like Avicularia at all! Sometimes mine even tries to escape when I just try to feed it. Also, you probably already know that but Avics sometimes only start webbing when they're about to molt so your Y. diversipes might just be in premolt. That's what mine did anyways, it molted a week or two after it made the web.
I am new to the hobby and will be buying my first spider soon, I'm going to buy a rose hair spider, what would you recommend feeding it and how should I keep the feeders or store them, also because it's a fairly small spider people have said to put a sponge in it's water bowl and dampen it so it doesn't drown, is this true? Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
Can you search for black widow that will be an amazing spider to add to your collection. And the spider will mean more to you if you catch it. The hard work will pay off.
That was an awesome vid dude! Iv always hated insects and thought they were gross, but now I'm subscribed to your channel and I love watching the insects lol their quite cool. You kinda make me want to get a taranchula but I think I'd be to afraid of it lol
Do have any time lapse videos of any of the spiders making their webs!? I just recently came across your videos and love them! I've always been interested in spiders, bugs, lizards etc. but you are the first person I've started to watch! Keep up the great vids!
They might be houseplant mushrooms which come from soil contaminated with the spores. They grow in humid environments fast and spread amongst the soil quickly with their spores. If you dont want them spreading to the other enclosures and growing everywhere I would say remove them quickly.
Apparently you have a spreadsheet to keep track of feeding times, but looking at that shelf behind you puts it all in perspective. I know you love your insects but that must become a chore.
Cool assassin guys haha
That escape proof transfer method is defenatly a work of art, I would say it's between the best performance and the best contemporary dancing I have ever seen, far better than anything else. Emotion spikes, and calm, good ending, better than every disney movie 10/10.
I love how he calls them "guys" its hilarious
Have fun with your new spiny murder bugs :D

Fruchtpudding Ii
Fruchtpudding are u Dutch or German
German
Fruchtpudding aah okay but u got a new sub😃
Do they need heat? But yeah whenever you're ready. I will look for you first when I am in a position to get some.
Those are house mushrooms and they SPREAD FAST, you'll need to deal with them quickly so they dont literally end you lmao, upvote so my dude can see
Looks like Leucocoprinus birnbaumii which is harmless. But mushrooms are hard to identify and can be pretty poisonous. I would get rid of it just to be sure.
*memes internally* they're called "likes" here, I mean you can speak whatever language but still use the right words for those languages.
you, go up!
"Look, behold, my wood!"
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I like watching the spiny bugs fight for food
I think the mushroom might be Leucocoprinus birnbaumii. For a human, if you eat a dozen of them, your stomach might be upset... Not really poisonous. But i don't know what the effects are on spiders :/

I fucking LOVE the transitions you do with the finger snap and palm tap on the camera lens
Those little guys are so cool looking, I wish I weren't so afraid of insects so I could keep a wide variety of them.
I can't use chopsticks without thinking about bugs on the other end ....

Dude.. that transfer method was super clever!
My day gets brighter when dark den uploads, ironically
I myself wasn't a big fan of any bugs, but I mainly had a problem with spiders, but I find some of the species to be quite beautiful, and rather fascinating! Keep it coming!

Evan Schaefering Thank you! I'm planning on buying one as my 1st Tarantula and they seem perfect for me c:
They grow extremely slooow. I have a 2 year old one that's barely 1.25 inches. Pretty nice t tho.
Ivan I'm planning on getting a female, around teen, past the sling stage. A birthday gift to myself.
So educational and at the same time you get so giddy which makes it fun too! Keep up the awesome content my man! :)

im sure theres maybe some way of capturing most of it
Why not Spiny Bois?
Anyway. Quite interesting critters! Might be something for my 60x35x40 enclosure thats currently standing empty

There just 3 words to explain this.
Another awesome Video! :)
...even i was hoping to see the heteropteryx dilatata again :P
As soon as i saw the notification i threw everything away and clicked it lmao
Apparently you have a spreadsheet to keep track of feeding times, but looking at that shelf behind you puts it all in perspective. I know you love your insects but that must become a chore.
"MY WOOD!" I'm dead
