Good morning Jenny. As a fellow gardener working with red clay soil - a great video idea is to show how hard and crumbly it can be when dry but then how thick, goopy and slick it is when wet (sticks to the bottom of your shoes in inches!). Especially when you try to use a shovel in each condition.
So many plants on this list I am drooling for! I would love to see you stock Gold Splash Wintercreeper Euonymus fortunei. Thank you for all you do to educate us and provide us with lovely plants and products.
A quick correction about Hydrangea serrata, its native to Korea and Japan. 12:46 Jenny mentions its native to here (US) but only H. quercifolia and H. arborescens are. Still love all of them tho!
Yaupon Holly would be a great native plant to carry. The dwarf cultivars make a beautiful evergreen shrub that really doesn’t need pruning with dark green foliage. The leaves can be harvested and dried then brewed to make a caffeinated tea. It’s the only north American plant that will make a caffeinated tea. The leaves can be roasted like coffee beans to add depth to the flavor. It was erroneously named Ilex vomitoria because they once thought it was a purge. It is not. The native Americans used this plant to increase their energy and alertness.
Our top PW shrubs for 2024 for 4 season interest and resilience - Aronia ‘Ground Hug’ - Sugar Shack button bush and like everyone else Firelight Tidbit hydrangea ….
It's so cold here in NE Oklahoma in the low teens at night We are getting snow tonight, I hope our roads don't get slick. I really don't enjoy winter at all. 😊
Hi Jenny. Will you be selling "Temple of Bloom" seven-sun flower at your retail nursery or will it only be available on-line. I'm thinking of the perfect place in my garden. Love your channel.
I'm so excited to watch my new babies come to life this Spring. The El Nino and Tiny Quickfires came from you guys this Fall. ❤You ended up having to cancel the Wee Bit Innocent from my order. 😢 it's ok, in the end I didn't have a place ready for it. I'm in zone 7 (St. Louis MO- very hot and humid summers) where should those be planted? Morning sun? All day sun? Can they handle a good amount or are they more of a shade hydrangea?
Do you prune back the Chitalpa in the spring? I bought two in 2024. One from you guys that is small, the other one larger. But haven't seen too much on need to prune like the hydrangeas as this is a new plant. Just wondering about care snd pruning ideas.
Does the El Niño Chitalpa attract Japanese beetles in the summer? I really want one, but need to be prepared for that in the summer given the size of the shrub.
Jenny: I want to replace my old Nikko Hydrangea with one that will actually bloom. Part sun/part shade. Faces South /East, but our neighbors Redbud really protects from southern sun. Which one would you recommend ? Thank you so much and Happy New Year! MS Z8
I ordered a quart "Holy Grail" hardy hibiscus from Creekside. It got to be about 2/3 of the size of a 3 gallon hardy hibiscus I purchased locally mid summer. Zone 6a.
I have a hedge of yews in my front beds west facing. They are mostly in the shade but do get some filtered afternoon sun. I don’t care for yews in that outdated hedge form. Would oak leaf hydrangeas do well with the filtered sun? I’m in zone 6b in northeast Ohio.
Love these kind of vedios, they so informative. Already making my list. However I've been trying to order the yellow Chiclette but won't go into cart. I called & inforrmed the girl that answered & she said she'd look into but it still won't take. Can this be corrected.
I bought four Firelight Tidbits form the Proven Winner website 2.5 years ago and they never bloomed. I think they just didn't like their spot. It was part sun, but hot afternoon sun in zone 8. I was pretty disappointed. At the same time, I got a Limetta and that one did so much better.
For sure! Megan is her twin 💖 I did a double take when I first visited the nursery in 2023…I couldn’t figure out how Jenny changed her clothes that fast! 😂

I love videos like this, helpful! I would love one with categories like best full sun, best shade, best evergreens. Thanks so much!!

Thank you❣️ Sometimes the info gets a little jumbled in the ol’ brain 😉
I love the oak-leafed hydrangea!
I planted my Beyond Midnight later in the season. I’m excited to have a full garden season with it this year- such a good shrub!!

Great video, definitely inspired options. However can you do another video on your top 5-10 Evergreen Shrubs
That is a great idea, I'll get to work on that video soon!
Thank you, Jenny! Happy 2025!
The temple of bloom's flowers are also fragrant. Reminds me of a hyacinth.
Is that the very first Jenny was talking in this video
Is it the desert orchard? 😊
@@judyingram-kh1vm It was the very last one, that reminded folks of crape myrtles. Both the desert orchid and the temple of bloom are fragrant.

Good morning Jenny & Jerry h Brynna. It's snowing here in Southeastern Pennsylvania so much everything is closed so I have off & get to watch you. 😊

@judyingram-kh1vm it's been 19 with eind chill of below 0 its getting colder here. I like snow bit not this 40 mph winds.
Good morning, Jenny ☕️ I definitely want two of those and will be ordering. Have a Blessed Day 😊🐶
Happy New Year, Jenny, Jerry and family! Love these types of videos...informative and inspiring. Gets me excited for Spring here in 6a MI!💚
Good morning thank you for Sharing your beautiful nursery plants lovely video ❤❤🇹🇹🇹🇹😎😎🌹🌹
Thank you so much! I am so glad you enjoyed the video!
Good morning GWC Family!😊
Good morning! We’re so glad you’re here!
My temple of bloom did not attract butterflies, but the bees were wild about the blooms.
Lovely info.,Jenny. Thks.so much for educating us all to the popular choices & stats.of each of these. Blessings for the New Year to your crew 🎉.
I planted quite a few of the wee bit hydrangea series from Creekside. I can’t wait to see how they do next summer 😊

Yes we have it available in 3 gallon containers. They will be available once we reopen in mid February ☺️

We also planted up the Golden Shadows pagoda dogwood and we are loving that so far - and so our our native bees. Zone 6 New England
Yes! It’s a beauty!!!!
Does the El Niño Chitalpa attract Japanese beetles in the summer? I really want one, but need to be prepared for that in the summer given the size of the shrub.
We have never had the issue

How did your experiment of cutting back your hydrangeas for later blooms turn out?
Good morning! I'm curious how long it takes to get these quart size shrubs into a one or three gallon container size?
Hydrangea and El Niño will get there fast, within the growing season for sure. El Niño will grow much faster.
I ordered a quart "Holy Grail" hardy hibiscus from Creekside. It got to be about 2/3 of the size of a 3 gallon hardy hibiscus I purchased locally mid summer. Zone 6a.

How do you train a shrub into a tree?
Good morning ☀️

Thanks so much for the heads up! We’ve gotten it fixed, so shop to your heart’s content ☺️

It’s sounds like they are not getting enough sun, we have planted many these and they bloom all the time.
@@GardeningwithCreekside Thank you! That was my guess too since none of them bloomed. Will move them to a different location this year.
Love this vidio
Thank you❣️
Good morning Jenny and all. It's 9* here in Ohio. Brrrr.
Jenny…did you find that Japanese Beetles liked the Chitalpa?
We have had zero problems with nettles on El Niño
@ sold!! 😂
Will you be carrying red leafed mukdenia online?
❤
Hello gorgeous! You look very nice today, Jenny.
Does Jenny look like her daughter in this video to anyone else? 😳😌♥️‼️
For sure! Megan is her twin 💖 I did a double take when I first visited the nursery in 2023…I couldn’t figure out how Jenny changed her clothes that fast! 😂
