If you wanted any more information on The Suzuki Swace then I’ll be happy to answer any questions and then put you in touch with an advisor to get you a great deal.
The reason why Suzuki is taking models from Toyota is because they’re one of the car companies that are least likely to survive European emission standards. That’s why they had to axe the Jimny, cos it’s 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine produced over 150g/km of carbon dioxide. That’s 9g/km shy of my dad’s old xDrive40d with a 3-litre bi-turbo inline six diesel.
@@donkirk5433 The Jimny isn't as practical or as high tech or as powerful as something like a Jeep Wrangler, but at least the Jimny is cheaper than a Wrangler.
Great review. Love the pacing and description of the car. Only thing seemed odd to me is the B mode on those transmissions as far as I can tell doesn't switch regenerative braking on. It connects the engine to the transmission and uses engine braking. It's actually less efficient than normal mode and is used to help slow the car when going down hill.
Thanks, saw this car on Suzuki website but wasn't sure about an estate car, watched this, test drove the car and ordered on for delivery Jan next year.
I like it! There’s two sides to my love of cars, the usual car guy side and the underdog manufacturer side, and because of that I’ve always liked Suzuki cars. Despite liking them though, I’ve always found other cars I’d sooner buy because sometimes their cost cutting on interior materials is a little too evident, I’d have this though. I mean it’s clearly a Toyota but it’s nice to see a Suzuki badge on something that looks so well built and visually appealing.
I got a new Swace in February 2022. On driving it home, the smell of plastic inside was overwhelming, so much so it was making my eyes water & left us feeling nauseous. It went back to the dealer who managed to lessen the smell but it persisted for months. It's been nice to drive & has great boot space but, after having had a Vitara for 5 years, we found that, especially on longer trips, the Swace seating to be rather uncomfortable. As we go away a lot, comfort is an important factor for us, so much so we decided a couple of weeks ago to trade it in for the new S-Cross - roll on tomorrow when we get the keys.
By the end of the video I thought "she's practicing her straight line walk for when she gets stopped by the police"🙂. But seriously, good informative video on the swace with all the info a new buyer would want.
The hybrid doesn’t have a CVT gearbox. It has a satellite gear which divides power from the gasoline engine between the wheels and the generator. It is called e-cvt but no gearbox is present. Therefore there are no gearchanges as you mentioned.
First off.... yes it would 'Swace' me... hahahah, that's my humour nailed! Secondly, actually quite like that. I'm a 40+ practical lad with a CMax who previously owned Skodas. Could easily see myself with that.. I do need Beepy Reversey things though.
The interior is . . . "practical" (making a not-very-approving face --LOL). Nice to hear "zed" instead of the standard American "zee," for a change :) This brand disappeared from America years ago, except for its motorbikes. Its forte in cars appears to be small highly efficient engines. I think the motorbikes are quite sporty by contrast.
Best part of £27k for this. That's a tidy sum for a rebadged Toyota from ( rightly or wrongly seen as ) a budget brand. Wonder how many will be seen on UK roads
Note I haver noticed most car radars on the front of most cars do NOT like the snow and the same for my new Toyota 1.8cc estate and I had no problems at all connecting my mobile phone even though the Suzuki Swace dealer told me I would need too purchase a new mobile phone which was total rubbish and being honest the sales rep needs educated as too the workings of the Suzuki Swace and I will never recommend that dealership too anyone full stop.
I think you got it. Those who need driving fun should forget all hybrids. Those who have this odd disease of scratching their teeth at the fuel station, they are the targeted audience of this drivetrain.
@@wfmccbikerforlife2981 Hi Decided too go for the 1.8cc Toyota full Hybrid which I have had for 3 months now :) and it worked out cheaper too purchase direct from Toyota and I have all the extra's I require :) and I am getting great mileage and most days I go from home too my office on electric which is around 1.5 miles. Down side simple avoid the Sports Mod as yes your mileage will drop but saying all that it will give you great speed if required bearing in mind in N.Ireland the UK 70 mph is the legal top speed on Motor Ways. Darren, Now I’ve said that I am checking the website and I can’t see it listed.... I’m going to double check tomorrow for you. I would be very surprised if it doesn’t as Suzuki do not do optional extras
Great review :) Nice car, but I don't think it would 'sway' me from, say, an Octavia. I think that beats the Swace, and even a Corolla estate, in a number of areas. Great spec, though, for a base car. And, I like the idea of the buttons and the knobs for the climate control.
yes, because iwould hawe anything for as long it is not german car. speciali vw, skoda, audi, bmw, mercedes. because this are so called jugo cars. ex jugoslavia members in my country driwe this cars. so i do not liek them. and allso servis is wery wery bad. people in this houses that sales vw are just ower the top grose. so i buy only french cars and japan cars.
Sometimes companies like in this case need to get a electric/hybrid car released quickly so rather than develop from the ground up, they take an existing model.
I would go for the swace of the 3. I would rather have daewoo over VW. Thats said interior in the swace seems to lack that funk factor for me. Other than that rest of car seems nice. I went off suzuki after my 4th suzuki as i have had nothing but problems with them. Quite a few people i know thats had a suzuki as said the same. But with this being toyota its a winner for me as i can have a suzuki with true reliability not this pile of trash i got now. Had my 4th and current suzuki liana estate nearly 4 years and nothing but problems. Same with previous 3. Even my neighbours high mileage FIAT is laughing at me.
I was onboard, until you said 1.8. other car makes have much smaller efficient engines available. Seems this is a hand me down of all Toyota's left overs. Skoda is a better buy.
That did shock me as well. It’s not often you hear of the big engines anymore but I do very much trust Toyotas engineering ad their hybrids have always been very impressive. Agree though, I’ll always be a VAG girl through and through

I could not agree more! 👌🏼 I’m always blown away buy Skoda for these reasons. It’s a shame there is so much stigma attached to badges.
Good review. Just bought one here in Denmark.
If it can run on electric power only then it's not a mild hybrid as stated. The Swace is a self charging conventional hybrid.

The same look inside as the Corolla, but with more gadgets for your money. Nice review.
This is a Toyota rebranded but a good review and you factually stated that it's a collaboration.
I will go for Toyota
@@alinonevlogs3724 your correct
This is a really nice premium car from suzuki line
It's about £1K cheaper than the Corolla but Toyota comes with a 5 year warranty while Suzuki is only 3 years !
Who has ever claimed on a warranty on a toyota? (Unless you got it with that awful semi auto gearbox)
Toyota is 10yr
It’s a lot nicer looking than their older Baleno. Thank you for an interesting review! 👍
And thankYOU for watching! 😁
Belano was the worst car I've ever owned.
Useful information really! thanks I have already ordered one
I think it is pretty much perfect, the only thing to me the nose looks very low to the ground.

CVT gearbox doesn't have gears, that's why it's so smooth
And noisy! Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!
Great review & very helpful
Toyota’s hybrid sistem is been around for way longer than 7 years and what you on about gear changes on a cvt gearbox ? There are no gears

Isn't this car more costly than the Toyota Corolla it's based on?
They copied corrola if im wrong ,get me corrected.
Made in Burnaston derbyshire like the toyota, Probably a way for suzuki to meet its carbon emissions targets.
I think you are spot on 👌🏼

How very exciting! 😁
Whats the difference between a corolla and this re-badged corolla.. What is suzuki offering ?
Let’s just say. You’d just need to want a Suzuki.... they’re essentially the same.
A price tag with a lower amount

Understandable, it does seem to be just a tick box exercise for Suzuki. New sales are slow but the used/ex demo ones do not hang around

shame it's priced more than Toyota as I would upgrade it for my next hybrid taxi! Instead I'll stick to the Corolla
