I hope you feel less and less uncomfortable the more you do these. It’s great to hear an artist give insight in to the steps on their journey. I look forward to more… oh and CONGRATULATIONS!
I never heard of you before but this video popped up in my feed for some reason. Listened to a couple of your songs and you're actually very talented so I've subbed! Selling out is nothing to do with signing a deal, selling out is sacrificing your integrity and your artistic vision in order to cater for what you think will make you a lot of money. Just be proud that your hard work has got you a deal and stop worrying about problems that aren't even there. Enjoy it, it's a great opportunity.
As long as you stick to your values and principles, live according to them and keep making music about what is important to you, you are definitely not selling out! As you've said, if you wanna make it in the music industry you need the funding and infrastructure that comes with record labels, there is just no way around it. Thank you for making this video and just being transparent with such topics :) And it was definitely not awkward or boring!!
Congratulations on getting a deal. 10000% do not feel guilty (nothing at all to feel guilty about). Do what feels right for you to make the best music you can and ignore the noise... 24 hours is one of my favourite songs of this year. You have a fabulous singing voice - very emotive covering lots of different moods. I hope your new music let's your singing voice fly free to all the place's it can reach.
I'm glad you have chosen to make music your priority. Your music is clever, well-crafted and catchy as hell. I am 61 years old and have never stopped looking for new music to enjoy. You are a stand-out among the younger artists I follow. Best of luck and I hope to hear more great songs from you in the future.
Seriously! You are so amazing! You are definitely not selling out at all. You have support from a label who has your back… that’s so important and it also seems like it’s incredibly rare! You are sharing really important key points to others who would love to ultimately make it in the world. You’re doing it! And you’re inspiring others as well! I wouldn’t be surprised if you got involved with some type of music charity / community, which may also help open doors for you as well! Definitely my pleasure to help if I can! I’m writing from my music wellness business account even though I have a signed music project - and I am a label manager for an international label… Very small! Keep up the great work and continued to inspire others simply by you being true to yourself and following your heart. You’re on fire! Keep it up!
I'm very proud of you and it's so good to see you grow ! I hope I can see you perform in France one day. I studied a lot about the music industry so as long as you don't sign a 360 contract or something like that which can be very shitty... just surround yourself with trustworthy people and always be careful, especially with the british music industry which is the most toxic one from what I learned and the people working in it I talked to. I truly hope you'll get the success you deserve because you're so talented and we need more artists like you ! Sending so much love from France 💜
Well done Chloe! Glad to post this before you blow up! You do not need to feel guilty. I had success as a novelist when I was probably around your age and felt like you, but now regret feeling that way. You do not need to donate all your spare money to charity - always remember that it's the system that needs to change, not you, and charity donations don't change the system. Use your time and money on your music and art, and all the thinking time that needs as well, and you will do more for social good than any donation to charity. And you'll be happier as long you can believe there is no need to feel guilty. You also need time and money to keep your mental health well as a touring musician. Invest your money and time in yourself and the world will be a better place than if you close down aspects of your freedom because of a charity donation that won't bring about the kind of change you probably want to see. Well, this congratulations post went a bit deeper than I was expecting. Keep making your art, you're really excellent at it 😊
A lot of people don't understand how the industry works, thanks for explaining. Please don't try and take on too much as you'll burn out. Can't wait to hear more of your music! 🎉
This was incredibly informative, thanks for recording it. Don't ever feel guilty for making a living from your music. Love your music and can't wait to see you achieve new and even more exciting things in the future
First of all, congrats on the deal!🥹 I think being independent is cool only on paper, but it ends up running, struggling and making ends meet all the time. There is nothing “sell out” in the deal, it’s just a way how the industry works, and I’m thrilled to know that there will be new music for sure. Looking forward to hear it❤ good luck, Chloe!
CONGRATULATIONS!! i'm so happy you've managed to secure a deal that still gives you control over your image and your music :D i don't live in manchester so i can't recommend specific places, but i've volunteered at my local charity shop for a year and a half now and it's super flexible! i'm p sure generally charity shops don't get many volunteers (at least in both the cities i live in they're always asking) so you're helping these shops to stay open as well as helping the charity :) (plus you might get discounted or free clothes through it)
Just looked you up as it looks like you’re booked to support The Beaches at the Forum tomorrow. I’ll be there and your stuff is great & refreshing. Great vid and in no way a sellout. We need more of you.
They look like a great label especially the short term contracts where you can level up over time to a full deal at the end whilst still owning you masters and excellent revenue splits along the way, great decision and now you have the time to work on music you will see a lot more success
Chloe! I remember seeing you perform for the first time at Lions Den open mic night in first year - it's so exciting to see how far you've come and where you're going! Really enjoyed your first EP and can't wait to listen to the next, wishing you all the best - keep going, and enjoy yourself! X
for whatever reason this video was suggested to me, im glad it was! you gave me and probably many others a perspective on the music industry that i don’t think anyone has ever really considered. i wish you the best of luck in this new journey of yours and hopefully you become so successful and your brand gets so big that you can go independent again 🫶
24 Hours totally got me. It looks like that was only about 6 months ago. That's amazing. You deserve this so much and I'm happy to see you being able to devote more time to music and meetings :) x
This is so cool and excitin! This video actually is very smart and informed me abt somethings I didn’t know about the music industry. I can’t wait to watch you grow!
Well done for your honesty. My daughter is also producing her own music and it is really hard and expensive. Don’t be ashamed of signing to a label. The money has to come from somewhere and record sales are no longer a thing. Proud of young people like you who are making new music and trying to help others to do the same. I’d take an honest ramble video over a slick fake one any day.
Congratulations! I get the guilt, I had that when I was your age (I was paid to code, and given that I love coding..). Music is work and you need to work your ass off to make anything in that industry.. and you need to get lucky. Talent alone (and you have that) only gets you so far. Hopefully you'll make it and come tour in The Netherlands (which isn't crazy, we have a good indy scene and you've been getting a play on Penguin Radio, it's how I found you). I'll come watch you with my kids 🙂
Congratulations! I can't wait on what level of music you can create now. Now that you can give more attention in creating. Your independent EP is already a great record.
Yay, Congrats, let's hope the label sends you on tour to Germany ! 😅 Yea thank God you're still authentic and humble. I remember other solo artists who skyrocket through the roof and cancelled club tours just to do the stuff for the big cash. . I'm happy for you and I can't wait to see what comes next in your career. ❤🎉
Get on the train and ride it ! Hopefully it will take you to lot's of great places- at the very least it will be an amazing life experience- good luck to you :) x
Congrats on the deal and going full-time. Shouldn't feel any guilt knowing how difficult it is just to get a foot in the door in the music industry yet alone a deal. Can't wait for the new music whenever it comes
the only selling out you are doing is venues. screw what people think. so insanely proud of you and can't wait to see where this goes and how much you've grown in even just this small amount of time. you really deserve it and yeah, mega proud. can't wait to hear the new ep! and if london or blood from a stone isn't on it ill take that as betrayal xo xo
CAPITAL "A" Awesome!!!!!Wasserman representation and a record deal in 2 years. Now that's how you fucking do it. Kicking ass and leaving footprints! Good on ya & fair fucking play. 💚☘️🏁🏴☠️⭐
Crazy how songs are now the promotion for live shows. Touring is the only way to make a living. Good to be young and taking on touring. Congratulations. Good work. Good luck.
Honestly there's something endearing and quite interesting about a catchup video like this one, I wouldn't say it's boring at all. But if it makes you uncomfy that's very fair and don't feel like you're obligated to do more in future if you don't want to! Fine a way of getting info out that works for you ♥︎
Never seen your channel or you before, just a random algorithm video, but congrats!! Hope it goes well for you, I'm about to check out your music, and I'm moving down to Manchester at the end of the month so if youre playing any shows soon I'll see if i can get to one.
Glad for you, I wouldn’t think much people care how you fund the music, I mean I don’t at least. I hope you make as much money as possible and we get to enjoy some good music. So don’t mind the haters.
Congratulations you deserve it! Big things for 2025! Hopefully a North American tour too! P. S. Also congrats on opening for The Beaches! They're awesome!
That is absolutely amazing, congrats!! I dont really think the problem is the “selling out” question, I really think tho that the way you feel comes from the sick ass society that cant live without arts (creative jobs) and keeps saying that they are not real jobs. It’s absolutely great that you made it this far, thank you for trying to change the mentality of music just being a fucking monopoly of rich and untalented kiss ass people, ur for real a huge inspiration! Please enjoy this amazing phase of your life, without guilt but with lots of pride of what you accomplished in a very honest way 🩷
congratulations chloe!!! ♥️ i’ve been trying to get my music noticed, but financing has been a major hurdle. can you share your story of how you got in touch with record labels? any advice would be appreciated

Such a cool video! I would love to see more of these as no matter how much research I do I have no clue on how the music industry works, how to get a deal, what are the right steps... it's exactly what you said, you're either from a rich background or you get signed, or maybe you already know someone in the industry. What labels care about my music if I'm not on TikTok? who even cares to listen to the demos if I were to send them? I wanted to ask you, on Spotify 'you can't put a price on fun' is your only ep. Did you release this independently but with funding from a label or was there another one before? (didn't understand it in the video properly) then, how do you get funding from a label without being signed? does a manager play a big role in that? and how do you even find a manager? it's all so crazy hahahaha. In your case, was it through playing live? since you don't have a lot of songs out. I have a lot of songs ready to go but don't want to waste them releasing them with any support whatsoever. What would you recommend? Sorry for this crazy long comment, love your music, I think your lyrics are awesome, keep at it!!
Hi Chloe! first of all, HUGE CONGRATULATIONS FOR YOUR SIGNING AHHHHHH (or should i say.. AAH AAH AAH!). Sorry to bother, but wanted to ask as an aspiring musician, I was wondering whether you would feel comfortable sharing how you found your manager/producer? I write music, and really want to produce it, but I would love support from a producer aha! anyway, congrats 🪩
Loved this :). Not boring at all! Are you retaining rights to your music? (Will there be a taylor swift -esque re-recording drama in a few years lol). Also, when will we get a name drop of your job haha?
thanks for making this despite feeling uncomfortable. it is actually really useful to get an insight into these decisions and your video is not boring to me - especially given it's not something many artists talk about honestly. I guess I have a question. speaking/posting regularly on social media is also anxiety inducing for me but it feels that this is almost required of music artists now in order to sustain a career - is this something we just have to suck up in your opinion? do labels offer any help in this regard other than money - like training/coaching etc or is it kind of left for the artist to figure out? any insight would be appreciative but I also realize this is quite personal so no worries if you'd rather not cover it. Love your music and congrats!
I’m not a British lad after hearing you signed with a record label but if I was I would say “WHEYYYYYYY” I think that’s something the Zulu Warrior might say, and would sound super sick as a song lyric ;)
i know you didn't like making this vid but as a fan this was anything but boring and honestly quite fun to watch, i get to see a little bit of the Chloe behind the music so to speak. congrats on the record deal, i can't wait to see more of your music
Selling out is when you stop making music to change the world and start making music to please the world. I'm really looking forward to a full album, and playing live in Leeds, so I can take my kids!
You are absolutely not a sell out. This is a huge step in your career! Congratulations!
Yea she is.
I hope you feel less and less uncomfortable the more you do these. It’s great to hear an artist give insight in to the steps on their journey. I look forward to more… oh and CONGRATULATIONS!

Go Chloe! Signing a deal is progress, not selling out. They’ll do the business. You do the art. Winning.

Well done you. Go for it! You have a great voice and I love your jaunty melodies and your blunt, cheeky lyrics.

Many congrats on the deal. The talk is very interesting. Your stuff is very good. I like it. Look forward to hearing more
Congratulations. Enjoy every moment 🎉
Congrats! Have funnn ✨
Well deserved, you're a fantastic songwriter.
Well done young lady Hope it all good well for now and the future 🥰
Congrats from one musician to another!
Never seen your channel or you before, just a random algorithm video, but congrats!! Hope it goes well for you, I'm about to check out your music, and I'm moving down to Manchester at the end of the month so if youre playing any shows soon I'll see if i can get to one.
I can’t wait to see you tour in the US one day!
Your songs are great and you come across as a really nice person. Good luck. I hope that it all goes well for you.
Excited for some London gig
Glad for you, I wouldn’t think much people care how you fund the music, I mean I don’t at least. I hope you make as much money as possible and we get to enjoy some good music. So don’t mind the haters.
Congratulations well deserved 🔉❤️
Congratulations you deserve it! Big things for 2025! Hopefully a North American tour too!
P. S. Also congrats on opening for The Beaches! They're awesome!
good for you!

Please enjoy this amazing phase of your life, without guilt but with lots of pride of what you accomplished in a very honest way 🩷
Well done and good luck ❤
Absolute legend - hope to hear more of your stuff soon - love it
F*ucking love to give you a photoshoot with my film camera from 1955 📸
congratulations chloe!!! ♥️
i’ve been trying to get my music noticed, but financing has been a major hurdle. can you share your story of how you got in touch with record labels? any advice would be appreciated
Go Chloe
This is the next stage of your music career.
Nothing wrong with business you need to earn a living.
I feel like I’m in your shoes bc we’re around the same age and I’m trying to break into comics and yeah I wouldn’t stress about it. You can’t be an ethical consumer under capitalism. It’s impossible and you seem like a good person. That’s what matters.
There's nothing wrong with earning your keep, especially as creatives. Actually you need to sit on it - creatives are easy pray for scummy lazy people who'll take as much of the money generated by your work as they can.
@@radicalbyteI agree but it looks like she did her research
Big step. Congratulations
Such a cool video! I would love to see more of these as no matter how much research I do I have no clue on how the music industry works, how to get a deal, what are the right steps... it's exactly what you said, you're either from a rich background or you get signed, or maybe you already know someone in the industry. I am very sad and discouraged sometimes when I think of how little access I have to the music industry, who do I even know that is remotely related? no one. What labels care about my music if I'm not on TikTok? who even cares to listen to the demos if I were to send them?
I wanted to ask you, on Spotify 'you can't put a price on fun' is your only ep. Did you release this independently but with funding from a label or was there another one before? (didn't understand it in the video properly)
then, how do you get funding from a label without being signed? does a manager play a big role in that? and how do you even find a manager? it's all so crazy hahahaha.
Also, when will we get a name drop of your job haha?
dont sign away all your royalties …. don’t let them saddle you with debt .. be wary ❤
thanks for making this despite feeling uncomfortable. it is actually really useful to get an insight into these decisions and your video is not boring to me - especially given it's not something many artists talk about honestly.
I’m not a British lad after hearing you signed with a record label but if I was I would say “WHEYYYYYYY”
I think that’s something the Zulu Warrior might say, and would sound super sick as a song lyric ;)
I love your music
Awesome
If they pay you for making good music with good messages, no problem ❤
And do not forget to tour in Germany 😊
Welcome to the real world; you’re not selling out and you can do great things from here on hopefully.
i know you didn't like making this vid but as a fan this was anything but boring and honestly quite fun to watch, i get to see a little bit of the Chloe behind the music so to speak. congrats on the record deal, i can't wait to see more of your music
Nice work Chloe 😊
