    I love this tutorial!
    I'm wanting to make the wig as one whole, instead of having the braid detachable, any advice on how to do that?

    • @mermaidfinn
      @mermaidfinn 5 лет назад +6

      i'm using 2 long rapunzel wigs, taking the wefts from one and sewing them into the cap of the other to make it extra long and thick. brush, steam, brush, tease the part and smooth over and pin, dutch braid both sides of the temples hair together to form a V, tie that off with an elastic, underneath the hair section it off into 3 equal parts and in each part create a tiny braid facing the neck. braid the three large strands and make sure the tiny braids face the neck again so that when u bring the braid over the shoulder, the tiny braids will show. hot glue flowers in the colors white blue yellow purple and pink onto hair pins or clips in case wig needs to be brushed and restyled after several wears, pin flowers in hair using movie reference picture. brush and iron or steam the end tassel of hair after the braid to make sure it's shiny and soft

    Finally a good and clear tutorial omg!! I was wondering (maybe you know)... If I use half the amount of kanekalon wefts you used, how thick would the wig be? I don't want it to be too heavy. Also, do you bye any chance know if the wefts are heat resistant?

    • @crazytwinklestar
      @crazytwinklestar  5 лет назад +4

      Thank you so much!!! It should be exactly half as thick as my braid, so about the size of a large fist. The wefts should be a little heat resistant, but I would be careful since it's rather cheap material that wouldn't look good ouside of a braid.

    I love your work. Two questions:
    Does the braid get messed up with movement?, you know, maybe some hair get out of the braids or something.
    And, why do you make it "deattachable".

    • @crazytwinklestar
      @crazytwinklestar  5 лет назад +3

      Thank you! Actually, it didn't get messed up at all. The only hairs that got loose were the ones that constantly got stuck in the buttons on the back of my dress, so I'd advice to move any kind of buttons/zippers/fasteners to the side of the dress ^^

    The hair extensions keep slipping out of the stitching. How do I stop that from happening?

    • @robynndoesstuff7495
      @robynndoesstuff7495 5 лет назад +1

      I had the same problem, I used hot glue around the stitches. I would sew 2 straight stitches sort of like a road, a few millimeters apart. Then fill in the space between them with hot glue. Fold the short hairs over the long hair, zigzag stitch it down and glue that again. Pull some small sections to see if it comes off

    • @colleen718

    Are the structures of the jumbo braids and base wig similar? As in shinyness and all ☺ +how many jumbo braids would you need as minimum?

    • @crazytwinklestar
      @crazytwinklestar  5 лет назад +2

      The color is pretty much the same but the structure is very different. The jumbo braids have this tiny waves that are usually used to give more volume. It's not visible once you braid it and cover the transition with flowers, but I would not recommend them if you're not braiding the hair.
      I used 10 jumbo braids, definitely wouldn't get any less ^^

    Salut,
    Je te remercie énormément pour cette vidéo qui m’aide beaucoup pour mon cosplay de Raiponce. Mais j’ai un petit problème : est-ce que c’est normal que la wig perde énormément de cheveux ? Si oui, comment faut il la brosser 😭

    • @Siby_lline
      @Siby_lline 2 года назад

      Hello ! C'est normal que ça perd beaucoup car la fibre n'est pas rattaché à un filet pour la maintenir comme sur une perruque normale. Je suis actuellement entrain de faire ma propre perruque de Raiponce et je compte passer plusieurs fois au niveau de la couture pour bien maintenir la fibre car vu que c'est très fin ça glisse très facilement. A part s'acharner sur la couture je ne vois pas comment maintenir un maximum les fibres si ce n'est que coller peut-être en guise de double sécurité ? Bon courage à toi ! Tiens moi au courant si tu as trouvé une solution. :3

    Hello! I ADORE this tutorial. I’m just wondering, I’m thinking of maybe not braiding the hair (or having it either way, I really want it to drape on the floor and look reeaaallyyy long), should I not attach kanekalon to a base wig?

    • @crazytwinklestar
      @crazytwinklestar  4 года назад

      hello and thank you so much! If you attach the wefts to the wig, you will have layers since the base wig is a lot shorter. You might be able to make it look more natural if you create/buy wefts you can sew inbetween the ones on your wig, or if you fan out the layers by cutting them.
      If you really don't want any layers, I'd recommend searching for a wig which has the full length already or make your own wig from scratch (Like knotting hairs to a wig cap one by one but that would probably take months)
      Hope this helps!

      No, I think you could also do it by hand. Just make sure you're using an extra strong thread or double your ordinary sewing thread! ^^ And you could also glue your hair to the fabric piece instead of sewing it on with a ziczac stitch. Just make sure the glue stays flexible after drying so it won't break.
