Another convert aha, welcome friend. There's so much awesome original and refreshing concepts in Anime that also feels familiar like characters or story arcs written in familiar themes that you already know from regular Film & TV. It sucks that many judge too quick because of it being animation but the magic lies in the immersion that the animation brings to these fantastical worlds & characters.
@CHIM3RA. haha yeah I totally agree and was guilty of it too. The biggest thing for me is the creativity and quality story telling. It's something that has been sorely missing in American live action stuff. Things like the Acolyte come to mind. Something with that level of budget and access they had and it's still nowhere near the quality level of anything I mentioned.
Another alternative to all the garbage we currently have coming out is...going back to the old days and watch many of the classic tv shows. There is a ton !

If I may, Id like to suggest some classics that were very foundational to the titles you listed in this video: Mobile Suit Gundam (47 episodes) Mobile Suit Z Gundam (^season 2 50 episodes) Mobile Suit Gundam Char’s Counterattack (finale movie) Neon Genesis Evangelion (26 episodes + movie) Cowboy Bebop (26 episodes)
@softlocker5941 😆 for real. So I did try it. I struggled with both the sub and dub. I really like the story but I wasn't crazy about luffys voice actors. I'm curious what I will think about this new anime remake that Netflix is doing. I'm pretty excited about that.
@user-ux1wq5qh5o 😂 funny enough I had that in the title but then was worried that I might catch flack for it. I wasn't sure if folks took offense to that one these days lol
@sissa4790 I think a lot of it depends on the voice actors they get. I totally get being a purist, I've tried. I just really struggle with some of the over the top acting/emotions, it feels more grounded quite often with dub (as long as the actors are good)
@@CriticlessCast yes indeed there are some good dubs who does a great job, like Naruto and full metal alchemist brotherhood. But for the long run if you're going to really dive into the rabbit hole of anime, watching sub with original voice acting will help you adjust to the over the top japanese bizarreness and comedy , even you start to appreciate it and enjoy the culture. And in my opinion the dub always make the characters more childish where japanese more adult like
@sissa4790 interesting, I'll definitely have to try and find the right one to give Subs another go with for sure. I've noticed similar things with live action foreign films and typically prefer subs in that case, so it makes sense.

You can't really enjoy anime in dub, you're loosing 45% of the experience, try to watch us movies in Spanish dub
