Literally this band NEVER let us down, they always stayed consistent with their sound, music and even political and ethical ideals. I f*cking love this guys
A Beautiful Place To Drown is one of my favorite releases of the past couple years, stoked to hear the new album after hearing this and Bankrupt. Love this dudes!
One of the very few bands that have been around this long and are still really, really good without making huge, weird changes to their sound. The quality just goes up and up.
@@benndarayta9156 Then you're not as big of a fan as you think you are. This sounds nothing like their 'Discovering the Waterfront' era, lol. It doesn't mean it's bad, but it's a completely different sound.
I think this is about realizing & accepting or even embracing the inevitable weight of one's own mortality. Seeing death in a whole new light with the state of the world and one's place in it, I think the narrator here is realizing the end of their own life may not be as dark & disturbing in fact as it would be to have to continue to simply go on living.
I’m going through seeing what bands are still out there & was pleasantly surprised that Silverstein is still a thing & still hasn’t sold out or quit like most from that era. Good job Silverstein 👍
I absolutely tore the pit up at the breakdown of this song. One of my favorite shows. they also played the entirety of their discovering the waterfront album it was such a good night.
Saw you guys last week in Salt Lake. Such an amazing show!!! Love Silver!!! They played this song too!!! Can't wait till the next show!! Silverstien never disappoints.
Sesnes fail got me into rock and emo in particular. And it took me 13 more years to find a band with a similar sound. Awesome stuff, will be exploring their discography in the coming month.
@@Is_kitten absolutely lol. They have one of the most consistent discographies of all emo/post hardcore bands i've listened to, which is kinda of sad for the rest of the bands. Scary kids scaring kids' last album was very disappointing.
After Alex left Atreyu, I thought I’d have a really hard time finding a new favorite band. I was happy to discover Silverstein this year, and even happier to see them perform live! Glad to say I have a new favorite band!
I got to see this played live a week ago when they came to Chicago and I'm so pumped that it sounds just as good recorded as it did live! Silverstein never disappoints
Heard this song at my job couldn’t ask anybody what the song was so i just remembered the lyrics and typed it in when i got off glad i found it this shit fye
This sounds like "Where Are You Now"s melody. Not sure if that's what they were going for, but by reading the lyrics, it makes sense to me only as a poem.
I’m glad some of us have ears and actually listen to what they’re hearing. This is ABPtD Part 2 and I’m not a fan at all of this sound. Some songs did grow on me after many listen throughs, but if I wanted to listen to this sound I’d listen to bands with this sound
@@angelestupinan7302 I told someone the exact same thing about the last album. Wait until the album releases. I’m almost always listening to something Silverstein when I’m in my car so when my friends ask about the new band I’m listening to it doesn’t feel right
This song reminds me of the sinking of the Titanic. The theme of the song is a steady decline, panic setting in, and accepting death. Even some of the lyrics make perfect sense. “Nothings making sense/ I’m running out of breath / my heart is beating faster and faster” These lyrics perfectly describe the panic that would’ve set in as people started to realize the ship was sinking. They were confused, maybe water was starting to come in around their feet, their hearts were racing “Trying to hold on but it feels like the end” Desperately struggling to stay alive, but knowing you are probably going to die aboard the ship “Death is creeping in and it’s never been closer/ all the violins won’t make us sink slower” The water starting to consume the ship, creeping up to the boat deck as passengers are frantically trying to load onto lifeboats. Being told they can’t get on because there isn’t enough room. The last line literally referring to the band that played music on violins and cellos as the ship was sinking, playing until they were underwater. Even though the music is playing, it won’t stop death from coming. The band describes the song as the hopeless spiral, and acceptance of death. Another website I read said the lyrics are talking about the singer reliving a past death experience, which would perfectly fit someone drowning on the titanic. Or perhaps maybe the singer is someone who SURVIVED the sinking, reliving the experience as a form of ptsd, or maybe a nightmare. “It’s happening again the walls are closing in/ in trying to hold on but it feels like the end” Revisiting those lyrics again for this but, because it makes a lot of sense for someone reliving this experience. I know not all the lyrics fit this scenario, but I think it makes a lot of sense and fits the theme of the song. The lyrics really pulled me to this idea, and I feel it has a little bit of validity. Maybe it’s just my interpretation. Either way it’s a really cool way to think about the song. Let me know if you thought this too
Ive heard of Silverstein bout 15 yrs but never got an opportunity to listen. This sht is awsome/very good. Have they allways sounded like this cuz if so ive been missing out
