Wow! Super seamless transitions. I first thought it was one shot of him dancing and then you just changed the background, but the shadows on the ground and his feet interacting with the environment were so perfect so it had to be multiple shots. So then I was curious how you got his body movements to match up SO good between shots. That puppet warp trick was REALLY good. The only give away was the shadows on his body changing but even that on first watch wasn't noticed that much. Second time watching and LOOKING for the lighting changes I noticed it.

My only question there, is do you key frame the "puppet" from the last scene to stretch over the new one vs try to stretch our the beginning of the new scene?
its awesome i have been playing around with rotobrush 2. It works like i think everyone thought the first one would, out of the box. with a little tweaking you can get amazing results. to be honest, find a large empty wall space behind you and it will prob key out nearly as fast as using a green screen......

Right? That was some slick stuff. Didn't even think to use the puppet tool for a match-cut effect like that before, but it makes total sense.
As someone who used to spend long hours rotoscoping by hand, the initial rotobrush was amazing. This update raises it to a new level.

KEY QUESTION THOUGH: what shutter angle do you use so that Gilles is not motion-blurry when he jumps? 90deg or even less? It cannot be 180.. is it?
We shot it at 180 degrees, but you can always use a higher shutter to have less motion blur of course :-)
