I lived in Rhyl most my life it’s not the same anymore a lot has changed and shops closed but some improvement on the sea front the sealife has gone that’s sad I loved it back in the 90s growing up with the joys of the funfair and arcades . Great video
Remember the Old Bus Station where the Jobcentre is now…and i used to go to the Old Astra/Apollo Cinema, all of the time, from the Early 1980s, until they moved to the Sea-Front…i remember the Motor World very well, because i used to go to the Old Jobclub above there!
Fair do's graham, you were brave walking around rhyl especially with a go pro 😂, i take my hat off to you, as always loved the video, especially the beatles and the topless bar maid story, proper made me giggle 😂
I've lived in Rhyl all my life and have never encountered a drunk or druggie or seen any violence. Apart from the beautiful seafront, there's Horton's Nose area, Coronation Gardens, Maes-y-Gog nature reserve, the Marine Lake and miniature railway, Brickfield's Pond, two theatres, a cinema, leisure centre, bike hire, retail park, skate-board park, outdoor music events - not to mention Les and Rita's Fish Bar, which this year alone was voted best in North Wales and won the Good Food Award. Context is everything: 'the Death of the High Street' is a national issue. Bad things can be said about most places: Denbigh, for example, is known for being full of charity shops and pubs and nothing else - deathly quiet, virtually free of visitors - and people with mental health problems. I don't like repeating such things, but that's its reputation. I suggest we spread confidence, cheer, and keep perspective.
Hi Graham, Rhyl walkabout, another town I know well. Back in 1980 my Dad , Taid and my brother went to see Flash Gordon at the Apollo when we were stopping down the road in Towyn. Been on the Marine lake railway a few times back in the 1970's as a child, like your self i've got a few memories of Rhyl. I don't know about the rest of North Wales Barkleys Bank is open in Wrexham and so is HSBC. Never notice about the clock tower at the town hall leaning over. Looks like a grey but sunny in Rhyl it's the same here also hazy. Great video on Rhyl and watch out for the muggers, Take care
Was the Veterans Honour Rally at the events arena, local cadets doing a parade/march and local kids football teams doing a truck pull, so no protest or criminal activity, especially muggings 🙄👍
The blue bridge was green in Holiday On The Buses, I have lived in the Rhyl area since late 2001 and I never knew Wellington Road was a dangerous road 😮😮😮 I don't think Rhyl is all that bad, Yes it's changed a lot, Fair closed, Arcades and the beach shops along the prom closed, all the big shops closed and Rhyl looks like a ghost town most of the year. Barclays closed in Prestatyn first, then Colwyn Bay and now Rhyl....... Nearest is Llandudno and I don't know if that's planned for closure in the future............ If you don't drive, It's a £10 train ride return to Rhyl

Shame you didn’t film the Veterans Honour Rally ! All the local kids from the RAF and Army Cadets doing Rhyl Proud ! Rhyl is not all doom and gloom..

Paddling pool you mean.
Hoeger Ferry
As if anything big enough to need that bridge open could get up that channel. What a waste of money.

You haven’t missed much 😂
