    In my setup, the sky HD+ box was connected to the cinema amp and when you turned on the sky box it automatically turned on the amp, which in turn turned on the TV.
    Inserting the Modulator between the Sky HD+ box and the amp has broken this sequence so everything has to turned on separately. Is there any way round this as my wife is incandescent at the change!

    I use an AMIKO TRF-800 modulator. It only comes with the power adapter, has only RF output and HDMI input. By default is set to channel 43 but allows you to change the channel, the resolution is 1080p. It has same problem like Technomate Modulator. The delay is one second I connected my satellite receiver and my computer. I don't recommend for gaming or working. I mostly use for Netflix and HBO GO. Also works with Blu-ray players.

    Can this work with sky q silver box? The 4K one. Will it convert 4K to 1080p for distribution? (I am told the sky q box only outputs 4K signal, so if I want this to distribute the silver box I will need a second mini box to do it)

    • @TellyDan
      @TellyDan  5 лет назад

      You'd have to down scale the resolution to 1080 then distribute it. HD fury did make a splitter before that gave one 1080 output and one 4k output.

  • @wormdazzler
    @wormdazzler 4 года назад +1

    A few months ago Chris asked "Can this work with sky q silver box" and the answer was .Now Sky are offering their 1TB box with a UHD capability (with Sky Q experience). Is this box then similarly in need of converting to 1080p? .. and does it output 4k all the time or only when tuned into 4k programme material?

    • @TellyDan
      @TellyDan  4 года назад

      You dont need to convert you have to set the resolution to 1080. It won't accept a 4k input unfortunately. The sky q resolution has to be set to 1080.

    Hi, I bought 2 of these which arrived at the weekend to replace 2 of the old TM-RF HD's that have been working perfectly for a couple of years , I just wanted the IR function. these have an aerial into RF in , first box RF out to 2nd box RF in then the output is fed to Labgear LDL208 amplifier in the roof - I configured both exactly as the previous had been setup but when I installed -the tv's only find the two channels set at 800 and 801. Perfect picture but when auto scanning on the tv's, that's all the channels it finds ie 2 channels -its as if the aerial signal is not being fed through .I tried also direct connections to 1 box, Again scanning finds the modulator but nothing else. I am sure it's a configuration issue . I did not try changing the advanced settings - Any ideas what the issue could be ?
    Any help would be much appreciated

    • @TellyDan
      @TellyDan  5 лет назад

      Does the amp have ir bypass? Also I'm not sure that you can have ir passing to both boxes probably just the one connected to the amplifier. Also have you set the rf channels to be different to each other and on the spare rf frequencies in your area?

    • @Fit4LessCaspianWharf
      @Fit4LessCaspianWharf 5 лет назад

      @@TellyDan Hi , yes the amp does have IR pass through . I haven't actually even tried enabling the IR function yet on the modulators (ie left it switched off on both ) yes one is on Channel 40 the other 55 - This was working perfectly with the old TM-RF HD boxes without the IR function.Maybe I will try defaulting the boxes in case these have been setup previously - I did write to technomate but no reply from them yet

    • @Fit4LessCaspianWharf
      @Fit4LessCaspianWharf 5 лет назад

      UPDATE- I have just tried defaulting and starting from scratch and bypassed the amplifier -ie tried direct on a tv using the individual aerial feed via RF IN and RF out to the TV - it all appears to be working normally and I can scan for channels finding both the modulator and all terrestrial signals - so the box is working fine - I will do the same with the second and see if that works - I will then try and cascade them again -if they work without the amplifier then it is the amplifier that is the problem - I will check tomorrow and update here -thanks for your assistance

Blue led remains lit on both boxes ,however IR function does not respond

    Just bought this modulator and setup as per this video using a Sky+HD box. The RF out is connected to a 4 way distributor in the loft and both remote TVs are now working great with Sky. Had been watching analogue Sky picture quality for all these years, wish this was available many years ago. Also both remote TVs have magic eye setup, I had to turn off the 9v from the Sky box and turn on 9v on the modulator and now all magic eyes are working perfectly.
    I do have a problem with both remote TVs Freeview channels. The picture and sound quality are fine on the Freeview channels but that is until buttons are pressed on the TV remote control then the picture and sound would breakup on each press of button. For example turning up and down TV volume, with each press of the remote control, the picture and sound would breakup then return to normal. Any ideas why?

    Recently installed this to replace the classic tvlink rf out 2 system and it works brilliantly. I wish we had done it years ago as the Hd picture and stereo sound is so much better than the analogue mono affair it replaces.
    I have now also been able to replace my sky HD box with SkyQ and maintain the loft distribution of the HD signal over the digital channel and the sky eye IR functions.
    However this does require a new SkyQ IR remote in all the other rooms as the old Sky+ / SkyHD ones don’t work with SkyQ boxes.
    I appreciate the touch remotes are Bluetooth but I don’t want to carry that around the house
    One question, whilst I appreciate the remote TVs are only ever 1080p is it possible to use a splitter between the SkyQ box and technomate modulator so I can still feed the local TV with Ultra HD and then look to replace my 1080p local TV to 4K?
    Feeding one splitter out to the local Tv (thus 4K) and the other to the modulator (1080p)
    I have found the following product. www.technomate.com/products/TM%252d2-4K-SP.html

    • @TellyDan
      @TellyDan  5 лет назад

      You need a HDMI scale that outputs full 4k to one port and down scales the second port to 1080p. Hd connectivity did one I'll see if I can get the model. You could try googling hdmi scaler.
