I am so jealous. I'm from Canada, and the 3 biggest parties I've seen are Paul Van Dyke at Aria in Montreal, Carl Cox (same venue), and Bad Boy Bill at the closing event for this place in Ottawa that was being demolished for condos. None of those compare to overseas events

hats off to both legends, i spent some of my best partying years on this two guys, clarke, mills, liebing, nastič, carola, varela, kanzyani , liebing, sims and ofc the king umek and many others. but that was in 98-06 and even in the last years of partying was so so, basicly techno was techno until 03-04, then all of this artist went to other cash grabing "EDM" scene as americans says. from all of those u can hear good music only on oldies goldies events. everything other from them like this set is just a slap in artist renome they built as fathers of techno. been on mills after 5 years of break from partying and at 2am i was like lets get the hell out of here. was driving home angry mainly on me because i thought i will go on same mills as a decade ago. if someone would ask me who is mills in 2011 i would say ah just some dj..... if u would ask me this 2003 i would say KING. i wont even go into vinly on four decks cox and umek started rolling not this computer mixing. when i heard cox bought his last vinly in 2007 and his collection houses more than 150k vinly it just makes me sad why he dont wipe the dust off and spin it again. ofc that wouldnt sell 50k venue like EDM crap, but cmon man remeber the roots from time to time. the point is even if thoose two guys are legends, this just aint the music their names stands for. look for same artist just from period around 2000's and you will see when and why they made their name for themself. luckly in last few years i found some great artist like gumja and amelie lens who can take you on your way back in golden years techno. so now i can go partying again knowing i can escape that commercial crap they are serving us now. i know i am older and they have to adapt to new audiences, but WTH dont forget about original audiences from time to time. i know they make probably 20 times more money as they did, but do it for the soul at least few time a year. us veteran ravers who supported you guys back when all was more underground and not so commerical would really appreciate it. we have way too many guettas and similiar rapper wanna be EDM star who can serve newer facebook generation so they can get their selfies on coachela or whatever it is. us veteran ravers remebers party days and nights when my phone was only for writing phone number of girl i met or calling for taxi next day when u r too fcked up to drive. we leted professionals do the video so we could party all night and watch professional video of us partying when they released it. today everyone is making his own documentary. if u asked him how was it, he cant tell you because he was on a job filming documentary for himself and not partying. ok how much u earned for making that video instead of partying? hmmm i spent 300€ this night. what for being on a job u spent 300€? and then when u look professional video from organizer u see the dj and a sea of little light in front of him (and its not lighters on some kelly family concert lol).
