- In this episode of Raj's Garage, I tackle the issues plaguing my Guard's Red Porsche 964. Expert mechanic Paul from Northway Porsche works his magic, uncovering a massive surprise along the way. A few modifications and choice upgrades are carried out whilst the car is in Northway's hands.
I also headover to Porsche Reading to check on the progress of my upcoming 992 GT3 RS, questioning if it'll actually arrive in time for Christmas?
This is very much a Porsche packed episode as I also introduce my 997.1 GT3 and my 993 Turbo to the channel - more updates on these cars soon!

The most stunning car collection in U.K., which every car guy would die for! Even 1 of them.🔥🔥
Thank you 👊🏼
What a pleasant surprise!
nice vid Raj. cant wait for the m3 barn find next part.
A shock and a surprise! M3 barn find video drops in a few days
I'd send it to paint, get the engine out send that to northway for a refresh, exhaust, itb's and remap and that will be a awesome car. Keep up the good work Raj
That's the plan!
Throttle bodies would be a nice tasteful upgrade for sure
That's the plan 👍🏽
Given that the 992 GT3RS won't be here for December, are we going to see another Dec purchase? 👀👀Didn't guess that the engine would be from a 993 in the slightest, that's strange. ITB's on the 993 engine would sound amazing! 🔥🔥Could we potentially get a dedicated video of you driving all your Porsches? I feel it would be lit with your collection!
Thanks for the feedback .. already planning a mammoth Porsche episode for the new year 👍🏽
Woooooow what a bummer to have the "wrong" engine in the car 🤐 Especially for the C2 which is so much more desireable than my C4. I'll stick to this journey, keep it up, and props to everyone working on this car for being absolutely professional. I'm amazed.
How did they manage to install the RS flywheel without doing any other mods to the car? I also have the RS flywheel, and it is stalling alot aswell if I don't use heel and tow.
thanks for watching and the feedback. I'm quite excited to find out that the car has a 993 engine, it's definitely a better and stronger engine to modify. RS clutch is perfect - no issues whatsoever 👍🏼
@@rajsangha911 totally get your point with the power gain. The 964 engine is quite fragile and a pain to do any mod to it. I now found a loose vacuum line think that this might have been the issue with the clutch stalling the engine… Will have to find out when the weather improves. I can’t wait to see what you will be doing to yours 🙏
So instead of Singer Porsche, You can be Sangha Porsche and go to town on it😅 RestoMod it, the plans for it sound great, It looks good in Red though👍🏽
Maybe Singh Porsche 🤔
Great episode 👌 go big or go home 🤷 nothing to loose, throttles and a big ass exhaust 💪 I don't think you would crack the bank balance 🤷 we enjoying the journey thus far 👌 I think this toy seems to be one of your favourites 😂
Definitely enjoying this project and looking forward to sharing the journey with all petrolheads!
Rubystone red would be my choice of colour, absolutely the best porsche colour ever and you won't need to change the colour on the logbook
Great colour choice but don’t you think Rubystone is a tad overdone 🤷🏻♂️
Love your 997😍👌
I'm here for everything😁
🙌🏽🙌🏽
993 eh...........apparently there was only ever ONE British Racing Green 993 made.................👀😍
BRG is a great option - definitely a colour to consider 👍🏽
As its a Frankenstein, go big or go home. Its the only way. And try some different products you have not in the past, go off piste on this one because you can.
Amethyst for me!
Great colour choice 💜
Raj. Take a look at the interview of Colin Belton of Ninemeister. He says the Varioram is hands down the best system for the 993. This statement is from a man who says Porsche covertly bought a crank from him (that he had developed for his 4LT race car) and shoved it into their GT3.
Watch his interview below:

thanks for the feedback and the link - awesome watch 👍🏼
Have a chat with Ian Harris - pretty sure he has a 993 engine in his 964
This car was purchased off Ian Harris .. he had a 964 with a 3.8 engine
Did you buy it as matching numbers.
Not at all, the car was priced attractively because it needed some work/ perfect car to modify 👍🏽
Oak green for the 964
Another great option 🙌🏼
@@rajsangha911 its an official porsche code as well - same as the mk2 golf looks the bees knees very rare code used only special order.
So Raj is your car a 963 or 994 😅😅
Haha.. a bit of both i guess 🤷🏻♂️
Throttle bodies is the way forward
Agree, looking into this already 👍🏽
Prime for a 993 3.8 conversion. But that is a “silly amount of money” idea.
So. Exhaust from FVD or similar. Headers. Remap. And you’ll see 300Bhp.
You may as well go down the full “RS” recreation route now. The 964 is the easiest Porsche to recreate an RS version of… Especially as it’s being repainted, you can then even fit the lightweight glass.
