Existence there means unsafe drinking water, few jobs, even fewer basic necessities and almost no chance of leaving. So, has life in Gaza become unlivable? And what responsibility does Israel have?

I am not at all surprised. If you can treat a group of as if they are a bunch of scumbags even after taking their land, there must be some form of dehumanisation at play and I am pretty sure after the victory in 1948, the Isreali government has been written their history in favour of themselves and glossed over a lot of brutal atrocities they imposed on the other people. Instead, they just told their young people Arabs are this group of people who are filled with hate and they are jealous of us for being chosen by God etc.
When you don't see them as humans, you don't treat them as humans, as simple as that.

@Mustaf Hi Mustaf. Nice cop-out. First of all Israel did occupy the Gaza Strip but gave it back to the Palestinians several years ago as a peace gesture. In return, the rulers of Gaza shower Israel with rockets. Egypt should be held accountable for an almost 100% blockade of the Gaza Strip. Luckily, Israel provides electric power; medical supplies; and other necessities to Gaza. I don't see you complaining about the Egyptian blockade. Perhaps a double standard?

stop disinforming people with the apartheid bs. palestinians were not pushed out and imprisoned in Gaza in 1948. They were busy with other Arab states trying to wipe out the newly established state of Israel, which had no control over Gaza at the time. Even then, the blockades to Gaza weren't even set up until 70 years afterwards as a defensive measure when Hamas took over it.
My rebuttal to them saying Hamas is responsible for the Palestinians suffering is that after doing some research about life in Gaza before Hamas took control, it honestly was not much different from how it is today. Palestines still had terrible life conditions and were still deprived from their homeland. Let’s not forget Israel raided 20+ Palestinian villages in 1948 (Hamas was created in the 80’s) and forced the Palestinians to move to Gaza where they’re trapped from escaping/ no having anywhere else to go that’s not a refugee camp.

I am a Jew and watching this Israeli professor smile and laugh at the suffering of others made me ill. These 2 men are a prime example of why there will never be peace in Israel and Gaza. I lived in the Middle East, hate and war has become part of the existence of 50% of the people that there, they were born into it and it is what they know. The other half want peace and to coexist with their neighbors. The problem is the people who want peace are not the ones with weapons and so as history has always born out the people who do not want to kill will be killed and the hatred, the anger and the murderers on both side will be the ones that survive.

To find peace, both Palestinians and Israelis must divide. It is not possible to have absolute justice without the other being wronged. Therefore, if both share part of the injustices, both will also share justice. What's the point of living like this, with both of their children being killed? The world, but especially those involved, need to stop the radicals. We are all human, we all have the same color blood in our veins, we all have our goals, our families, our children. What's the point of all this, these wars, these attacks? One side goes and kills a few people hoping that something will change. The other side goes and kills many more people, and also hopes that this will change. But it hasn't changed until now either. Completely apart the the original events which dispossessed the Palestinians in Gaza of their homes, the fact that after all these decades the great majority of the (rapidly growing) population is still dependent on organisations for their most basic needs (food, shelter,etc) is an indictment of the Arab Muslim states.
The half million Jews that were violently driven out of their homes in neighbouring Arab states were welcomed to Israel and invested with full citizenship. Today they are thriving in the most advanced, democratic, prosperous state in the Mid East and entire Muslim world.
Meanwhile, the Palestinians made refugees by the creation of Israel remain stateless, impoverished, deprived, and completely dependent on aid. That is a tragedy.
Why did not the Arab states welcome this population and endow them with citizenship?

They are heavily surveillanced and I think they said something about how hard movement is for them because there is some barrier or something. I’m new to this too and I’m getting this information based on what I’ve seen so far especially when it concerns the West Bank.
There are fences and walls around the entire Gaza strip. There are a very small number of border crossings out of Gaza. Israel and Egypt control the crossings on their sides and have denied most movement out of the strip since Hamas came to power there in 2007. I know less about what controls Hamas imposes on the citizens of Gaza wanting to leave, except that it can be difficult. Also a majority of the people of Gaza are very impoverished and do not have the resources to leave even if these barriers were not in place.
No mention of Hamas. The children's film on gaza showed happy people making lots of money building tunnels
The children said the make so much money that everyone who could had a tunnel in there house.
Geez that Israeli guy gives me Nazi SS guard vibes. And Palestinian guy doesn't really sound like he cares that much about the Gazans
