- Hiei is finally released! I didn't know about the early access and allowed my vacation to run over that time... so yeah, I'm a little late on this one.
It took some work to find out how to hit high damage combos with Hiei, he's pretty good at dealing moderate damage overall. He can easily dump his entire bar into a combo and even has a time sensitive counter to turn the fight around. When it come to dealing optimal damage, however, less ends up being more when it comes to general attacks like rushes and heavies. He does still manage to dump all of his bars into a combo to inflict even more damage with his specials. Of course, rather than tagging in an assist to land that extra R2+O you can instead use special right away and deal just a little less damage.

If y'all are asking about fist of the mortal flame into sword of the darkness flame you gotta absorb the dragon in order to hit after that cause it makes it faster and more range and damage

I'm so happy hiei was added now we need sensui, team Toguro, kurama, kuwabara and Genki that would balance out the amount of characters since yu yu hakusho only has 3 now.

Why was Purgatory Scorch purple at 0:49 ? I've only seen the red and post-ultimate blue versions.
After the grab super, if you just do the darkness sword and then an ult, it does a lot more damage. Doing the rest of the light attacks lowers the ult damage to almost nothing
This is a combo i made myself with Hiei and Sasuke: 4-5 hits of light, 3 heavies, sword of darkness flame (call out sasuke support), afterimage, sword of darkness flame, and then another afterimage
I like how the purgatory scorch attack has different colored flames. It goes from the normal orange to purple and blue. Wonder why that is.
The way you played as Hiei while performing those combos I don't think I could perform were insane! Deadly insane and brutal!
In Jstars, I learned what returning the dragon to Hiei does. Here? I don't get it.
Absorb the dragon when hiei is in base form sword of the darkness flame has more range and fist of the mortal Flame does more damage

Cool stuff, but using a bunch of light attacks can really hurt with scaling. It’s good in theory (if you want to bait an escape), but it isn’t practical if you are looking for high-damage combos

I forget the exact mechanics, but when Hiei is awakened and/or already had Dragon of the Darkness Flame absorbed, Sword of the Darkness Flame activates the full charge version faster iirc.
