Hi Kym, i’m a housekeeper and run my own business for the past two years and I have a post construction cleanup to do this evening and just thought I would look through some videos on RUclips. Maybe I can find a new technique or just get a refresher on what to do to clean an empty house in this condition. I came across your video, and just hearing your story and the positive affirmations throughout your video actually help me get through this day. I just left a 16 year relationship which I was mentally and verbally abused about two months ago and I’ve been struggling to get back on my feet ever cents. I’ve slept in my car, I’ve made a negative impact on the relationship with my two teenage boys because I left home. Hola. I get paid based off of how big the contract meaning how many homes and what is required. As far as when I get paid, it depends on how the contract is written. For this. I got paid up front. (It wasn't my first job with this company) I appreciate u watching. People dont realize how lucrative cleaning can be with commercial cleaning. U can make A LOT of money. Best of luck to you.

Hola. There are 3 cleans involved with post construction. Each time, I dust and wipe with a dry cloth. The paint they used is flat paint. If the paint was upgraded, I would do a detailed clean with water after dusting several times. The big thing is getting off all the dust before u use anything wet to clean with. For bigger houses, the Bona mop would work. This unit was 1200 square feet. Thank u for watching.

I used to help my family clean up after new builds sometimes, but as my husband and I are moving out of an old apartment into a brand new one, we're realizing that a lot of the initial cleaning there is probably going to fall on us. Whoever gets that place after your work is very blessed! It was helpful to be reminded of what all I need to plan to do in our new place. I noticed that there are heaps of drywall dust in the water heater and HVAC closet. ...I know my husband really wants to keep costs down because we're already planning on buying a new dryer and vacuum and a few other big ticket items... But I am not sure how I'm going to tackle those dust dunes. If we get a nice vacuum for our regular home use, I'm pretty sure that dust will destroy it. I don't know if it's worth it to buy a shop vac just for this one clean? I've even considered buying a crummy little Dirt Devil and just expecting to have to junk it at the end although I don't love that idea both for the lack of a good filter in there, and because it seems wasteful. I guess my final option is a dust pan and hand brush. (I will be wearing a good mask, regardless, because I have frustratingly fragile lungs.) Do you have thoughts or suggestions about whether to get a specific vacuum for tackling this construction dust, and if so, what kind? I appreciate you providing a place to try to figure this out; it's been swirling through my brain all day and driving me crazy! Thanks again for this encouraging video! 🎉
Hola, happy Saturday. Thank u so much for ur comment. I'm very appreciative of ur presence. I would only use a shopvac for the dust. U will want to start with the walls and work ur way down. The thing is, u will more than likely use it more than 1 time. We do 3 different cleans to rid dust, and with the last walk thru, we sometimes find drywall dust particles. Home Depot and Lowes have great deals on shopvacs. Definitely purchase extra filters and dump the contents often. There are a few brands that should work just fine if u do it that way. Craftsman and Bauer seem to be the least expensive. When u do decide to purchase, pay special attention to the power level of the shopvacs. Google the power level u will need specifically for drywall dust. Keeping it clean will make it last for years. That's the secret. I hope u have an amazing weekend.

I do contractual agreements based off size, number of rooms, and what needs done in the home. My contracts are commercial. I don't do residential.
