I think the white on the old version is just the plastic colour and the new version is painted. So as time passes by the old version might turn yellow like all white plastic does, but the new version would hold up better
The white on the old looks a little better than the normal plastic gunpla, maybe they coated with gloss, but I believe the new one can suffer from the yellow as well so suggest to stay away from direct sunlight.
Now this is the review I need. I really confused what does it mean by "Alternative Strike Ver." as I can't buy it myself since it's out of my budget. I guess it's anothey way of Bandai "Lemme have your money."
It is indeed Bandai's way of grabbing money from us. And this "alternative strike" version seems to be trying to push out more backpack to equip on them.
Any chance you will do a review on the Powered Red & 150 Gerbera Straight [Power] Option Set? Always curious to see the difference between the white colour matching between the new and old red frames.
@@KaizerChannel Awesome! That would be very helpful since the aftermarket price is so high right now for the old astray and the arms. Would really help our community of new collectors :)
Thankyou, now that you mentioned it definitely make sense. This is probably for the shoulder part of Launcher/Sword Striker pack to be equipped on. Will try it out once I get my hands on the Launcher/Sword Striker pack!
Definitely interested in the Sword Striker pack. I just ordered the Astray Red Frame Kai Alternative and the flight pack. I just need to work on getting the Metal Build Caletvwlchs to make the Red Dragon.
@@KaizerChannel I want to but I at the moment I have to decide between Exia Repair 4, Freedom Concept 2.0 and that. I'm not sure which one I would go with...
@@KillaRock404 wow, thats a lot to decided, but if I were you i would drop the Exia Repair 4 and focus on Freedom 2.0 or Blue Frame. IMO, if you are going to get the Red Frame then I guess you should go for the Freedom 2.0 since Blue Frame is essentially the same as the Red Frame.
Might be a stupid comparison but the new version metal build astray or the high resolution red frame astray? (I like the muscular look of it that’s why)
@@KaizerChannel Paolo A. is referring to the High Resolution Astray with a pre built Frame! you know the High Resolution line from the High Res Barbatos to High Res Wing!
Subcribed :) So in summary, old version is prettier in every way, except for the shoulders, metallic black and white base stand, right? I am highly considering buying the old version...just trying to look past the shoulders and prettier white base stand. What about durability and design? Are both identical or does the new one fix any weaknesses in the old one, or add new problems not present in the old one? Thank you very much.
Thankyou for subscribing! Your summary is correct, there isn't any issue from the old one that I am aware of, so functionality and durability wise both of them are nearly the same with the exception of the shoulder part which you can move freely on the new one. Though I do advice to think of the reason for getting the red frame is because the white on the old one is different from the new one, so if you are going to purchase the Powered Red arms, then the old one will fit the white color. While the new Red frame can equip with the new Sword/Launcher Strike equipment on the shoulder where the old one cannot. So these are the 2 points that I would consider before confirming which to buy.
I think both of that's good..but I don't know which one should I buy...can U suggest to me... *Poor English, sorry ya..because I'm not original white people
Thanks for the detailed review this helps me a lot considering which version to get. Hoping for more metal build videos to come. Stay safe!
I like both versions. Great comparison video. Thank You very much
Glad you like them!
Great comparison video ! now i know which one to buy ! XD
Glad I could help!
Hope they adopt the articulation of the hires red frame.. which is better.

I think the removable shoulder pieces is for the different Striker packs.
Thanks for letting me know! Look for to see how much I can put on to the Red Frame with the Striker packs.
@@KaizerChannel That sounds great and very much like Gundam Seed
Can you add the caletwlch to a red frame WITH the tactical arm on the back ?

great video bro, keep it up 🙌

Hey nice video, i want to ask, is that the old flight option part is compatible with astray red frame strike ver. ? Thanks😁
I assume the removable shoulder tops are for the other upcoming strike packs.

@@goldenknightgaro Nice! I plan to make a video for Red Dragon as well, but I'm waiting for a specific parts to deliver to make it happen.
Yeah, I also ordered an unofficial V-fin part for the Ddraig Head. Hopefully it fits.
Is the MG back pack compatible with metal build .
That I'm not sure since I don't collect any gunpla, so I would think they won't be compatible.
I like the newer version. The matte finish looks better to me
Yes, the paint job on the new version definitely looks a lot better.
