    Another glitch that should be a feature on this game...

    If you place your beacon on top of a storage crate, your outpost becomes mobile. Hover your beacon over a storage crate (like a weapons crate) until the foundation of the beacon disappears, then grab the crate and the beacon will continue to hover and stay with the crate, your outpost circle will move to wherever you carry the crate/beacon to. I've never tried it with a poi so it would be interesting to see what happens.

      I find an extra long table works better. Easier to grab and move as it extends past the beacon. But great idea. I loved it and played around, made a 1000m circle outpost yesterday

    There is two new POI mods out done by IDontLikeNexus. They let you craft and place two full pois as outpost. They are for both PC and Xbox and are called Outpost NPC Prefab - Deserted Relay Station, and Outpost NPC Prefab - Fortified Encampment.

    This same glitch was in fallout 76 as well, practically the same way. In 76 you would drop your camp outside of the restricted area without placing the camp. Continue to hold the camp as you run it from the buildable zone into the restricted , the camp would remain green until dropped. Allowing up to place it in any restricted building zone. Unfortunately they patch it out :(

  • @baxter2908
    @baxter2908 7 месяцев назад +1

    So what’s the advantage of doing this? Can you decorate or change things inside the POI? Can use it to farm items? Do the enemies respawn if you leave for a long time and return?

    • @standardfries
      @standardfries  7 месяцев назад

      Yes you can build on them (just like regular outpost building). Only “advantage” really is that you’re making a random generated POI your “outpost” since you can glitch a beacon onto one and remove its restricted area. I’ve had one for a while now (haven’t tested any of the new ones I claimed yet) but with that one I was able to store my random items/resources into the built-in containers since they are infinite. So far nothing despawned in those containers so I’m hoping it’s the same for every randomly generated POI. I did had marines, enemy robots spawned before every once in a while whenever I visited that location so hopefully they do. I’m currently finding some cool ones to claim and set up some builds, companion desks, and post another video about that information once I do more!

  • @RichardBejtlich
    @RichardBejtlich 7 месяцев назад +4

    That is cool, but I can't duplicate it. I drop a beacon as close to a POI as possible. Then I delete it. Afterwards, the restricted area of the POI is the same. I can't get any closer. I tried with two different POIs.

    • @standardfries
      @standardfries  7 месяцев назад +3

      Do you know if those POIS are like the static ones that are always there every game? I notice those and the cities are impossible because it just keeps the restricted zone. But so far I’ve came across 8 different randomly procedural generator POI’s like “Abandoned Mining Rig” and was able to place an beacon using this way

      @@Vanguard.Warship.Voyager that POI is impossible as I tried to do it as well. I even managed to get the beacon a good amount into the POI and restricted area stays. Random generated POIS like “Mining Rigs, civilian outposts” etc for sure works I even did some geology POIS like “Sunken Grove” and works. Tho sometimes terrain can glitch through like trees n etc. definitely annoying just gotta try and place some objects over them to make them disappear

    • @standardfries
      @standardfries  7 месяцев назад

      @mirandela777 same, I was never able to replicatecthe 'place inside restricted zone'..but the move able beacon/curcke is very handy. I built a 1000m across outpost area by area by building then moving the beacon with it on a table, building the next area, etc.. if you want to change something online an earlier area just move the table with the beacon back there. And once the circke covers the area you want to edit you can.

It’s pretty easy if you can stand on the buildable area facing the restricted red and quickly look down at your feet so your beacon high lights white and quickly look ahead into the red zone.
