Caspar Schols creates reconfigurable Cabin Anna in Dutch park

- Architectural designer Caspar Schols has created a modular cabin at the De Biesbosch National Park in the Netherlands, incorporating sliding walls that allow it to be opened up to the elements.
It is the latest iteration of the flatpack Cabin Anna model, which Schols first developed in 2016 as a prototype garden room for his mother, next to a pond at her Eindhoven home.

Caspar's story reminded me of my childhood, when after school, instead of going home, I went to the meadow to do my homework. I didn't want to be locked in four walls, I wanted - as much as possible - to be in contact with nature. The example of this cabin made me realize that you can follow your dreams when designing a house.
This is so beautiful … I always open the window first thing in the morning and crawl back to bed to enjoy the feeling and sounds outside.. while still feeling safe and cozy under the covers.. I often dream of the bed being on rails and that I could open the wall and slide with the bed outside and lie outside for half an hour before getting up… this is just amazing…. ❤
Exceptional and beautiful. We done. I an architect in South Africa and design and self-build small space POD houses. Have delivered one to Afriski in Lesotho in 2019. The second one, different in design will be delivered to Plettenberg bay, Southern Cape during May 2023

OK, I finally found the closet from your video. TG. I love the idea that the outdoor patio can be fully enclosed by glasses to enlarge the living space at the end of your video. It should be able to configured that way. Some people want an outdoor patio while others want a bigger living space. Especially for people who couldn't stand for mosquitoe bites in the nature, they can't sit outside or open up the glass top. They would rather appreciate the nature through the glasses. So being able to enlarge the living space is more important. Thanks.

Nice structure, indeed. I have seen a similar modular concept down under, but not with timber. So, I like this more natural construction more.

What a wonderful design! Thanks. Question: if we live in a place with hot summer, how can we cool down the inside but still be able to open the shell and enjoy the nature through the glass? We can't just close the shell for the entire summer.
You can use an air conditioning or fun.
