I just got a 15/20 on a chemistry quiz that I took today. I knew absolutely nothing until I watched these videos. I should have failed that test, but instead I did better than half my class.
He's putting many college professors to shame. Just because you have a Phd in a particular field, does NOT mean your are destined to be a professor/teacher!!!!!!!!!!
This is so true.. I'm sure our professors have a passion for the subject, but that doesn't mean they are good at teaching the subject. Some people are able to learn from their books, but most of us need things to be broken down.. so many teachers want to hurry up through the lesson, but don't want to explain things in detail.
Because they were lazy to discuss it in a detailed way they love shortcuts and assumed their students caught quickly what they mean in their discussions..That's why the best teachers / professors are those averaged-minded persons not an intelligent/ smart people....because these genius instructors assumed that their students absorbed quickly what they had discussed, that's why most students failed to understand effectively if those instructors/professors are smarts / genius/ intelligent..
this is more like highschool chemistry though. if you were taking a college course the prof probably blew through this really quickly assuming everybody already knew it.
I have been so confused on this topic for as long as I can remember & I just found your YT channel & let me just say, you.are.a.life.saver. I legit understood this concept after watching this video! About to go try the practice problems in the next video! Thank you!!
I really do appreciate your videos. I'm such a visual learner, and all your pointing and pieces of paper and showing your train of thought really does help me learn. Thank you so much ☆☆
You explain this so well! It seems so simple after watching this short little 10 minute video, but when I sat in class for a hour I didn't get any of this! :D
It's funny that there are lots of people from 2015/6/7/8/9 and now 2020 and some teachers still can't teach as well as Tyler honestly someone give this guy a noble prize for being such a great teacher
I wish I had found out about your RUclips channel before I started school.. now I am failing my chemistry class, hopefully it is not too late to get my grades up. im going to watch your videos and study so that I can hopefully pass some upcoming tests and get some good grades in.
Oh that's rough, because I'm making a D in honors math, I think my mom and my counselor are gonna make me do regular math :3 gonna switch up all my classes and stuff
So I have block scheduling (which means I have 4, 80 minute classes a day) and I think you explained more in 5 minutes to me than my chem teacher now could explain to me in the entire 80 minute class
Super good videos with a lot of learning in few minutes. Please note that zinc chloride is ZnCl2 and not ZnCl. I am sure it was a typo but don't want the viewers to learn it wrong. Thank you so much
I have a question about ZnCl. Doesn't it have to be ZnCl2 since Zn only makes 2+ and Cl is just C 1-?? (hopefully, you understand what i am trying to say here..)
Who else had one of those "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... I get it now." Moments?
Hi Tyler, Thank you for your videos. They are the only ones that help me through my chemistry course. You teach well and I've learned more from you than my professor. Thanks so much. You are thorough and you move slowly. Just what I need!!
This man, as far as I’m concerned is god. His word is law and his generosity knows no bounds, I have been blessed on this warm Thursday night and I thank you.
I have been stressing out about this and trying to figure it out for a week. I asked my teacher several times and could never understand it. I was just about to accept getting a C on my test. The lightbulb moment hit me hard with this video though! Thank you!!
Thank you so much for all your videos. I'm a visual learner, so it's nice to actually see you talking while you're showing us stuff in the simplest way possible.
Before listening to your videos : my rank was last in chemistry 🧪 every time !! After listening to your videos : my rank was 1st In chemistry every time and I also got national 1st
I really appreciate all that you are doing to help chemistry learners like myself understand concepts like this! Thank you for everything, I greatly appreciate it
I actually love chemistry, I just am not benefiting from how the professor at the university I attend, is presenting the material. I feel as though she doesn't care if we understand that material at all, just that we can regurgitate it back to her twenty minutes after its been introduced. Tyler and his videos are the only things that have kept my interest in chemistry alive and well, because even through the screen, I can tell he really wants you to understand.
Great Video(s)....please tell me just for clarification....on the table you have written for example +2, but above you have written 2+ ie Fe 2+. does it matter which way round ?? thanks Rob ( UK )
I spent at least an hour during chemistry staring confused at my worksheet because I couldn't figure out how to write the formulas for compounds with transition metals without knowing the charge. I thought I was missing something. Thx for letting me know that you NEED TO BE GIVEN THE CHARGE OR ELSE ITS UNKNOWN.
+Wahab Alrahbi No, that's wrong. Zn, Cd and Hg are all transition metals. Look it up on Wikipedia or somewhere else online. But make sure you fix your misconception, because it's not correct.
Tyler Dewitt thank you for all of these Chemistry videos, they really help a bunch! When I win the Noble price ill be sure to thank you in front of my audience =].
Honestly, just God bless you. You literally save lives and grades
I just got a 15/20 on a chemistry quiz that I took today. I knew absolutely nothing until I watched these videos. I should have failed that test, but instead I did better than half my class.
You're Armenian, correct?
I know right!_! He needs to be knighted
Yea he saved my grades thank you!!
Gavin Yeah
Man, this gave me one of those "OH I GET IT NOW" moments ...
Eternally thankful for this teacher
Right haha, got chem test on this tomorrow, I feel way more confident.
Greatness right! would have failed my quiz since my teacher hardly knows how to teach
Circle Clicker I failed my quiz on this 2 days ago because I didn't get the proper teaching, wish I had looked this up earlier.
Circle Clicker She's just a pretty bad teacher, but on this, I understand the material.
ME TOOOOO😆
This guy is teaching me more then my Chem teacher ever has.
Felt that
Science teachers = money grab
fr
My Chem teacher doesn’t teach
He is a teacher after all

I really do appreciate your videos. I'm such a visual learner, and all your pointing and pieces of paper and showing your train of thought really does help me learn. Thank you so much ☆☆
Yea same tbh😳
At 9:19, didn't you mean ZnCl_2? Zinc can't make a 2+ ion if there's only one Chlorine ion.
StretchyDeath Good catch! Thanks for that. I just put in an annotation to make sure that it's clear that it should be ZnCl2.
I saw that too :P
Saikou Ongaku i was just looking at the comments to see if any body else noticed it 😁
I'm sure he knows ... just a minor oversight 😊
You still have not put the annotation..
You sir are a life saver.
Thats what I said🧢
Thank You! so helpful!
You explain this so well! It seems so simple after watching this short little 10 minute video, but when I sat in class for a hour I didn't get any of this! :D
same :) I always stair at the teacher in chem
You are so helpful girl ..

It's funny that there are lots of people from 2015/6/7/8/9 and now 2020 and some teachers still can't teach as well as Tyler honestly someone give this guy a noble prize for being such a great teacher
But ZnCl should be written as ZnCl2 I assume... because Zn has a 2+ charge and Cl is -
well the actual formula is ZnCl2 for zinc chloride when we look it up online.
right??? i was thinking about that too
I wish I had found out about your RUclips channel before I started school.. now I am failing my chemistry class, hopefully it is not too late to get my grades up. im going to watch your videos and study so that I can hopefully pass some upcoming tests and get some good grades in.

Yeah. It should be ZnCl2

SO True
if u drew that periodic table freehand u should be my chem teacher AND my art teacher . . .
At 10:00, ZnCl2 is zinc chloride, not ZnCl. (The “2” is the subscript for Cl not a whole number)
maybe, he overlooked it.
Yeah, I observed it too.
I'm going to legit recommend you to all of my confused classmates

This man just informed me more in 7 minutes than 3 weeks of the same principal being taught by my chemistry teacher
teachers are for assigning homework and grading papers. Tyler is for actually teaching us how to do everything. Thank you so much

So why you do not call Ferrous for Fe+2 and Ferric Fe+3
Because those are the OLD names, IUPAC changed how they're to be named quite a while ago.
