The property manager definitely should’ve been called after the 1st or 2nd time he didn’t show up. You pay too much money to deal with that. You got this girl!!
I highly suggest having them take off the door to your closet room and store it behind the clothes. That'll give you more space on that wall to push the vanity over and put the Ikea drawers.
And no door on there will help you keep it clean ☺️
I totally understand what you mean about the super. I hate hate HATE when people mess with my schedule and are wishy-washy if/when something is happening, whether that's in my personal or professional life. Unfortunately I feel like every time I've needed something done that's how it is. I don't know if it's because everyone's understaffed or what but it's literally been like that for years wherever I live.
What if you hire a task rabbit, meet them outside and pretend like they are your friend that is coming over? Lol not sure how your building works but just an idea lol.
Fixing a drain is pretty easy get some drain-o and it usually solved everything and get a little cover for your drain that will catch all the hair. I totally understand your frustration but something I have learned when working with crappy supers/landlords is taking record of everything and then doing it yourself
You should get wheels for your drawers so you can roll it under your sunglasses when you are done getting ready! Seriously so obsessed with your new space!
Try utilizing the vertical space. You have enough room on the wall next to the mirror to put small shelves in your beauty room to hold items also. ❤

Good for you Danielle, you have to stand up for yourself sometimes even though its uncomfortable. There's no excuse for the super not following through with what he said he would do. 🤦♀️
You could take the door off your closet and store it somewhere until you move, slide the desk over and add your alex drawers :)

Girl, your patience levels are sooo high. I would have put heat on the super in person, and then onto the management the second time he was no show! People will never take you seriously until you show them how seriously you take yourself. This is his job and if he's bad at it then fair enough- others would do it better. I love your vlogs x
Supers do that when the tenants have no choice. I would hire a task rabbit and message him not to mention that he's a task rabbit. Or I would be like if no one likes it they can evict me. I don't know what you are paying for rent but I'm sure it's a lot. It's time to call your landlord, then the building mgmnt with an angry voice. Every time you see the super look him in the eye and dare him to say something. If your lease and rider do not say you can't hire a task rabbit then you can hire a task rabbit. I have a good relationship with my super but I'm prepared not to.

I totally understand the frustration with the super. I've been there and you're not being a "tattletale" at all! You're right- you pay a lot of money to live there and you've given this person many chances to make things right and they haven't. Plus, you're uncomfortable in your own home now! You did the right thing

Just a suggestion there are so many shelves in the hallway I think you could possibly install a long drape white or black to hide some additional storage just a thought.
Love your new place. Have you ever thought of removable wall paper to place behind a few of the hallway shelves as a pop of color or added visual interest ? Books, candle sticks, photo frames would look great. They sell lots of self stock wallpaper and could add a nice design feature to break up the white shelving.
I've rented most of my life and dealt with a few guys like your Super - not fun to escalate issues but necessary. I think it's really weird that you can't bring in Task Rabbit - I hope you double checked that and didn't just go by what he said. Anyway, love the vlog and stay strong!

Love this vlog! you should get the 5 drawer ALEX drawers for under the sunnies, your rolling bathroom cart from last apartment for the small space on the left of the vanity (for hair products) and showcase your nice products/ pr (not your everyday makeup) in the clear drawer. Hope that helped!!
I feel you on the super. It's total b.s. So, though I'm not normally one to dodge the rules, I'd sneak in a Task Rabbit (pretend he's just a friend coming to visit). FYI, I bought this amazing plastic snake thing that was dirt cheap & do my own drains. If I lived near you, I'd totally swing by and clean yours out too.
I second the plastic snake thing - it’s super cheap and so easy to snake your own drain. Quick self fix rather than waiting for the super for that one. Definitely annoying that your super is so wishy washy though!!

this type of scheduling appointments and not showing up to them wouldn’t fly if you had a normal 9-5 job. communicate your time slots and emphasize that you are allotting times from your workday and are scheduling him around meetings. make up a lie. it’s awful he has made it come to this, but he is already exhibiting greedy tendencies and that will increase if he learns what you for a living

My landlord is a new one because he took over but he’s taking forever to fix things too . . But the one thing I couldn’t take is waiting 8 days to have my a/c fixed and I was living in a sauna 😭 this was this week too. So i sassy texted him and he finally came to fix it after that and he even had the nerve to say “it’s hot in here it’s like a sauna” and I looked at him so annoyed lol and said “well yeah what did you think I was complaining about, I had to live in here” ! Anyways I feel you girl!
Danielle you should inquire whether you can hire a handyman on essentially a retainer basis so that he can enter your complex and it’s not a different person every time like a task rabbit? That could be why it’s not allowed?

You should get an XL curtain that goes to the ceiling for more ✨spa✨ vibes. It will also make the bathroom look larger ❤

I don't mind hearing about your property management issues. That's adulting for ya and it's very relatable. I'm the kind of person where I will give grace once & then send stern letters about things that need to be done. That's not being rude. It's making sure you're taking care of yourself.

I wanna hear all your stories…cuz you’re so relatable. If I were you I would definitely complain to the property management. Also it’s ridiculous that your building doesn’t accept task rabbits…how can you depend on one super/person to fix everything for a whole building & so quickly?? I would sneak a task rabbit in as if they were a friend. Love your apartment though. Do you have curtains for night time in your living room?? I don’t like it when everyone can see everything. !!! look into the elfa over the door organizer rack that goes on the back of your closet door!!! (from the container store). i have one in my walk in closet and its $$ but LIFE CHANGING. plus it's better not to have so many things on the floor. it has little baskets that you can customize, they hold my hair tools, hats, travel pouches, etc etc... highly recommend!!!!
Girly try some drain-o or equivalent for that drain and you might not need him just quick fix ! It could just be clogged

you should store extra beauty or hair items in the cabinets under your shoes and you could put the ikea drawers in your bedroom

just so you know stuff cant be recycled with the paper on it! So like water bottles, cans, etc you want to rip the paper off and throw it away.

You could remove the door to your closet room so you have more space and just put a curtain up for privacy!

This super is lucky that you are very sweet! I definitely would have went above his his head after the 2nd time. I totally get it though, the Virgo in me hates confrontation and just wants everyone to be happy. I’ve learned that you can be stern and direct in a nice way, people need to be held accountable for their actions. You pay wayyyyy too much money to not have everything in your place working correctly. The money you pay more then likely went to the check that I’m sure he’s already enjoyed spending. It’s not right, so don’t be scared to report him girlie!
