I just went to my first pride event this month and there were so many kids and elderly there and I would be HORRIFIED if these innocent people would have gotten hurt in this. Obviously I care about everyone in this situation, but in all honesty I didn't realize how large the demographic for pride parades were! It was amazing and beautiful! It's horrible to see that people were planning to do violence on such a beautiful event.

I am worried for children who were honestly damaged by actual abuse and I feel that the way these people are trying to change the term into something else could be beneficial to those who want to harm children.

Hormone blockers are completely reversable; all they do is delay puberty, which would start once you stop them. I literally was in my pre-teens when I first learned about it and I had to be the one to ask in the first place. Most parents sex advice is simply, "Don't have sex" but they don't even tell you about what to do if you get an STD/STI, how to identify what it might be, how to report a sexual assault, ect. You know, practical shit to being a fully functioning and healthy adult. If parents actually did their job, we wouldn't need schools to actually do this lol

I don't have to imagine, I grew up there and've had to stay out of Idaho for few years after I began to be recognized and targeted. It's not a big place, you start to recognize people you've never spoken to because everyone goes to the same places, and I was quite prominent in the community.
The final straw when I knew I had to move was when my former best friend lured me to a swastika-tattoo-having literal-ass nazi's house, where they cornered me on the guy's patio, issuing threats. I tell people I screamed and someone heard me, but the real story of how I got out of that situation is actually, by definition, unbelievable.

I was at that event, we already had an armed group called Panhandle Patriots walking around during the event which was scary but then to find out after the fact about that uhaul, it was just a lot to take in. We knew something was going to happen but at least I didn't expect that. Very odd to hear Coeur d'Alene being talked about on a national scale but I'm glad you and everyone else are talking about it.
At the end of the day, they didn't do anything. We had a kickass drag show and a lot of local businesses got a chance to participate

Permits override public places. That’s like one of the whole reasons for a permit, so you can throw people out when you rent a public space from a village or whoever
You can 100% be detained for disturbing a lawful public meeting (disturbing the peace) especially when there is a permit involved - love hassy, I just didn't like how he completely dismissed their arguments because of their politics. Title 18 sec. 242 is absolutely a real federal law. (It wouldn't have applied - but it is real, and he went on to say how it was all made up.)
If the "mic" was powered, it wouldn't have been lawful without a permit (in most places) if it wasn't it might have still been considered an amplification device - it first depends on the laws in the state, and 99.9% of us don't know the laws in every state 🤷

I grew up being told that gay is a sin and punishable by hell. So I shoved the fact I liked girls too so far down, and I hated myself because I was told consistently I was an abomination, vile, evil for my lust. I was told it’s a choice, yet I couldn’t stop blushing around pretty girls, and thinking about them. I prayed it’d stop. For years. Then I came out. At 27. And I felt a release and was able to finally be myself.
Indoctrinating children to hate LGBTQIA+ people is disgusting and only hurting them. It’s hurting some child’s self esteem, and self image that will carry into their adulthood.
& yeah, I was preyed upon by old straight white dudes on the internet when I was underaged-not by lesbians, bisexuals, transgendered, or anyone from LGBTQIA+. Only straight white dudes.
i grew up in idaho from age 6-14 in a very liberal family so I had to grow up around these people. at my cousins wedding, every groomsman and he himself were strapped with pistols during the wedding recital just in case someone of color was coming to attack them. shocking that a pride event even even got organized in that place. never once was i ever presented with any idea of representation of any kind in the 8 years i spent growing up there.

I went to a pride parade at my university and I only felt safe because there were police cars at the front and back to clear traffic and campus security walking around us.
