Steel wool and Magic Eraser will scratch porcelain! If you use these, you will create grooves in the porcelain. That will add to the stain problem, making a less smooth surface for staining to get worse.
Magic easer don't scratch
The steel wool is very fine. I've been using those scrubby pads for over 20 years this way, never an issue. But if worried could use even less abrasive scrub pads 👍
Moral of the story clean your toilet as needed, I tried this method and it do work, thanks😊
@@denisearmstrong8246 you're welcome 🙌
Totally thata why he has stains cos he's using barkeepers friend. Bar keepers is for stainless steel..Best thing is hot vinegar overnight and clean your bowl after you've done a big jobby.
Hey Jonny, that was a genius thumbnail, that’s why it did awesome, this is Larry from DMC by the way, the way you did this video reminds me of guy that does car videos, great job doing it fast but thorough, I always say “if i had more time I would have made a shorter video”. Larry
Thanks Larry! Lol which car guy Scotty Kilmer or Chrisfix? 🤔😆
Thanks. I used a SOS Pad to clean my toilet bowl. And it worked great. It removed all the stains. Thank You
You're very welcome, happy I could help you out 🙌👍
Great job you did. I just pour tons of bleach in my toilet.
Thanks, I am learning some great ideas by watching your videos! I use CLR for the troubled toilets.
You're welcome, happy to help. White vinegar works great too. Just flush and remove water from bowl and let it soak for as long as you can 👍
Definitely cleaning my toilet asap, thank you ❤
You're welcome, happy to help 🚽👍
Great tip. Thanks Jonny
Thanks Dave! 👍 have a safe weekend. I hear weather might be a lil crazy over there ⛈
That works great! nice job 👍
Thanks Pete! 👍🙌
Great video and great information
Thank you, happy to help 🙌👍
Good old elbow grease, backed by ingenuity.😊
Yep elbow grease is often the forgotten "secret" 👍 thanks for watching
I had to use a chisel for the calcium, but your video gave me hope that it should work
Thank You
You're welcome 👍
Jesus. A chisel? 😂
Good cleaning methods. 👍👍👍 If you got a lot of stubborn water deposits, then you need the heavy duty stuff. I use Bring It On. With a brush attached to your drill, that stuff can take just about anything off, even hard water deposits mixed with soap scum and mold that are resistant to acid washes.
Awesome thanks I'll have to pick some of that up, I've got some hard water stains on a toilet in the house I just moved into 👍
Bring It On also sells a brush kit for your drill or you can buy something else that's cheaper. Good luck! @@JonnyDIY
@@audiophileman7047 cool thank you 🙌👍
Sure, you bet, sir. @@JonnyDIY
❤😍😘🥰 thanks for your vids!! New sub here
You're welcome, happy to help and thank you for subscribing 🙌👍
Good job, any suggestions on cleaning fiberglass tub? 🤔
I use a mix of comet and baking soda and scrub with a stiff brush. I make like a paste with it. If really greasy try using dawn dish soap first to cut the greasy parts first
I found a pumice stone is effective. Get one with a handle and you don't even need to put your hands on the toilet water 😊
Great idea 👍 I've used one before. I think I even still have one....somewhere? 🤔😆
😬😬 appreciate the tutorial, but I will never put my hands that far into a toilet.
😆 I feel you. I made sure I wore gloves for this one. You can also just turn off water and flush toilet and fill with white vinegar for a couple days (if you have a spare toilet) 👍
Be careful when using acid based cleaners like vinegar and caustic based cleaners; they can destroy rubber seals. Soaking for days may not be a good idea for some cleaning projects. Minimal contact time is probably okay. @@JonnyDIY
I like your old school watch.
Thank you! 🙌👍
SOS pad- genius
They really do work great. Best thing I've found so far. If you can soak the stains with vinegar or some cleaner for a while. Help loosen it up
Do not use steal wool it stains the bowl and very hard to get off. Just fill eith boiled vingar and a packet of citric acid and leave it overnight then tap any large chunks with a knife..only tap and it just comes off in chunks.
Cool have never tried that will give a go 👍 thanks
NO, NO, NO. Never use comet, and certainly never use a metal scouring pad like Brillo. Well, now that you have destroyed the outer coating of the ceramic (the glaze) I guess it doesn't matter. You need to know whether to clean something mechanically or chemically. On ceramic, you must clean chemically. You can use the acid pastes (drain the toilet water) or just use straight vinegar and let it sit for 30 minutes. The scale will be removable with a plastic toilet brush.
Will try the vinegar again. I've tried before but it hasn't worked for tough stains/deposits. Maybe if left for days on those if could do without use of toilet
any alternative video without bleach ?
No need to use bleach, try using barkeeper's friend powder 👍 also a scouring stick works wonders on tough spots
Lady goes by " clean freak & germaphobe" i believe its a couple things , one being lycol rust and lime, . . Not bleach. With some other things. Also for real tough stuff. Brick Acid just dissolves the toughest stains, let it sit for 15 min, just eats it away
reanimator ftw
You couldn't have bought a more cheaper toilet seat.
😆 I think it cost like $15 🤷♂️🚽
Mine still won’t come out 😢and the water won’t go all the way down like yours
Turn the water supply valve off and then flush toilet and hold handle down til all water drained from tank. Then bail out any leftover water with a rag or sponge. I used some white vinegar last week and let it soak all day before cleaning, worked pretty well. Longer you can let set the better. And for stains other than bottom. Put paper towels on then then soak them in the vinegar 👍
Thick bleach left overnight would do the same.
Will have to try, thanks 🙌👍
Gotta use a pumis stone son how ever u spell it
Yes those work pretty well too. I use those too. They dont fit into the nooks and crannies as well though
Ajax and Comet will scratch ur toilet over time so I wouldn't recommend!!
Never had an issue with using either in decades. Both products are advertised safe to use on toilets too 👍
