  • This video was recorded Live at the Canadian Brass Christmas concert on December 18th 2015 at the Flato Markham Theater located in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Normally The Flato Markham Theater does Not Permit People to shoot photos or videos during performances. So I would like to thank the Canadian Brass for convincing the Managers of the Flato Markham Theater to Temporarily suspend that Policy to make it Possible for me and their other fans to shoot photos and videos during the December 18th Concert. All the videos in this series are Initially out of focus at the beginning when I first start my camera. But Please be Patient. The Picture will become sharp and clear in a few moments after I finish adjusting the focus. My favorite Glenn Miller Song is In the Mood. This video features a Medley of Glenn Miller Hits played by the Canadian Brass; Including In the Mood. If your a fan of the Big Band Music of the 40's and Glenn Miller in Particular, you're going to Love this video. The members of the Canadian Brass are: Christopher Coletti (Trumpet); Caleb Hudson (Trumpet); Bernhard Scully (French Horn); Achilles Liarmakopoulos (Trombone); and Chuck Daellenbach (Tuba).

I have seen Canadian Brass many times over the years, including 3 times (or 4?) at Markham Theatre, just north of Toronto. With terrific stage presence and easy sense of humor, they are as good as they come and remarkably entertaining. They typically record their entire show! 👍

Having worked so long on his "sound", I wonder what Mr. Miller would have thought of this rendition of his music. I expect he would have loved to ability of the musicians, but not been thrilled by the "sound".

Agreed. Not a big band sound. Miller definitely favored a very smooth, sweet sound. Ever notice how his saxophone section emulated the sound of a string section? Yet I think Miller would have had a liberal perspective of peoples’ interpretations.

Terrible version of Glenn Miller's music; it sounds like a circus band! They need a new arranger.
