Thanks for great video … I wasn’t planning on sanding but now I will. How many cans did you use of just the paint?(not primer or clear coat) So now I have great info and going back to store for primer and clear coat. What’s your recommendation on best optics for (plastic) hubcaps … matte?satin?metallic? I have a 2002 Toyota Corolla in great shape. I want to do the best job I can. After all this work they better look half way decent….lol
You showed a wet dry sand paper with 1500 grit. That’s confusing, since you recommended to stop at 600 grit. Quality video, good information and good production.
You can try using primer spray (gray in color too), it should be able to seal the scratch a little bit and that is what I did. It also provides better adhesive on the paint too. It does not need to be perfect, after few days, the paint "imperfect" would not be noticed due to dirt and road dust. Good Luck.

How long do you wait to dry between primer, paint, and clear coat? And how long did it take to sand each one approximately?
Sanding takes around 15-20 minutes, wait around 5 minutes between coates
Plastic primer costs 18

In my case each hub cap is $50 even if they’re used. Can’t use generic covers on my vehicle due to the unique bolt layout
What if the wheel covers have some deep scratching? How would you fix that?
You can try using primer spray (gray in color too), it should be able to seal the scratch a little bit and that is what I did. It also provides better adhesive on the paint too.
