  • Tried installing the original BCM and would not crank. ECM reported U0140 Loss of Communication With The BCM but option configuration codes no longer showed. Tried reprogramming the used BCM but still no crank and same U-codes. Removed the rats nest of wiring for aftermarket car starter and tried again with the same results.

    What a mess. Spending a ton of time. But it gets that you will not give up because you don’t want to be beaten. I been there before.

    I'd like to know how this ended. Your end result (fuel guage reading empty and no PRNDL indicator) is where I am at with our 07 Yukon Denali. We do not have any aftermarket stuff. We are stuck in NO crank land. We have new battery cables, new ground strap, new starter, and cleaned up grounds. Tried a refurbished and vin programmed BCM and ECM, no change.

      It ended up being a shorted Serial Data Wakeup Signal from the BCM to the suspension control module. This was effectively shutting down the BCM and taking the network down. I'll put a link to that video here shortly. There is a connector under the engine compartment fuse box you could try unplugging . ruclips.net/video/O2I7FQXyFTQ/видео.html
      I've also had ABS modules take down the can bus. You can try unplugging the ABS module as well. Good luck and keep me posted.

      That's what I thought I trased the wire and it has a short from the BCM, Fuse box or the ignition switch is bad I haven't tested it yet but the things BCM controls act wierd!

      He didn't know what he was talking about he said it was all aftermarket when it comes with the vehicle when you buy it yes sometimes it's added to the system at the dealership like Chrysler Dodge when I work there we will install the remote start system which is really just unplug the starter relay and plug the remote start part * in reality you just added a Relay in Line with the existing Starter Relays* and and then you have remote start that's how easy it is!!!!

    Would you give me information about your scanner? I have been looking for a good scanner.

      @MatthewDuncan-n7w I use a couple scanners. My main go to is a Snap-on Verus Edge tablet but I would not recommend it as its overpriced. Check out a Thinktool pro plus.

    Can you do it on the ground or do you need a lift to get above the spare tire

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  Год назад

      It's definitely easier on a hoist but if you can drop the spare you can access the module

    Did you ever figure it out?

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  Год назад +1

      Yes, I did. The serial data Wakeup Signal from the BCM was being shorted to ground by the suspension control module which lives above the spare tire. Here is the fix video if you're interested.ruclips.net/video/O2I7FQXyFTQ/видео.html

      @@PhillipBailey seems to be a fairly common problem with these things, just the placement of that module.

    Those Electronics aren't aftermarket remote start comes with the vehicle when you buy it New

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  3 месяца назад

      Yes it does but this was an aftermarket kit added to the truck likely because the factory feature stopped working.

  • @michaelfilippo3347
    @michaelfilippo3347 Год назад

    Why is he calling aftermarket when it's not it's a feature that came with the Denali remote start and security feature isn't aftermarket

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  Год назад +1

      This is clearly aftermarket crap that was installed in the truck. Yes, it likely came with a factory remote start capability, but someone added this system to the truck, likely because the MIL was on preventing the factory remote start from working or the remotes were lost or defective.

    Do you ever get something very easy to work on? Lol. I guess when you do, not a interesting video!
