Love that kit! Its cool the real Hill & Hill trucks ran from Houston, TX to Alaska running pipeline supplies. I'm sure you have looked that name up. It was a Houston company. I know a few older guys who ran around the guys that worked there.
Built that original kit when it first hit the department store shelf back in the 70's. Even painted it like the box. Prolly my first real paint job as a kid Lol. I have an original shrink wrapped unopened kit in my AMT truck kit collection now.
Very nice unboxing. As a kid of the 70's, I remember opening this kit and being totally disappointed that there was NO CHROME in the box. Now, I spend a lot of time trying to de-chrome parts out of the kits because seems back then, they chromed many parts that never should have been in the first place. I especially like this kit as it was really the W-925 with added Alaskan Hauler parts added (and minus the chrome). Upshot, I would buy this kit (probably 3 or 4 of them) in a heartbeat today.
Always wonder what rear suspension these AH had - if it was Hendrickson, the kit came with all parts to do a base W925 including a hood and grille, except nothing chromed. Too bad this one issued at the end of full painted box art and was "touched up" kit photo instead. Hope full artwork will be done to box if Round2 reissues this one. From online photos, they had a narrower hood - radiator. Another good choice for review!
You are correct, it has the Hendrickson Walking beam rear suspension. The torsion bar suspension only came in the very first issues of the AMT K100 Kenworth cabover and the Kenworth, Watkins W925 conventional.
Ben+ decal binder testors has it in a spray can for the old decals I know what you mean I have the testors decal bonder it's call sorry about the misspelling there
It did, but it was a rather unrealistic piece of "jewelry" chain. You can find pretty realistic, oval-link chain at Michaels/Hobby Lobby quite inexpensively.

Great kit! Have one of the org. The thing about that kit is the nose. Two different ones. Yep that's it. Plus the head rack
Built this as a kid 40 years ago. Box looks identical.
I have this kit in my model stash. I'll be building it soon.

Can you put links on the aftermarket stuff! My memory is bad! Makes it a lot easier to chase the parts down. Great video
I'm not sure how to do that on here as far as writing them but if you contact me on Facebook and I can help you.
Is this based on the Kenworth LW900
The org. Did come with the chain also
It may have, I bought it used. Just might be missing.

The original box had sealed bags
Not a step, seat support
