  • In this video, I discuss a principal of samurai philosophy which teaches: “What you can do, is all that matters”. So many people are concerned with knowledge and knowing many things, but not able to do anything. What is the purpose of being the “jack of all trades, master of none”? Knowing something is okay, but having the ability to do something is better. This is The Way of the Warrior (Bushido). But in the modern era, so many do not actually want to train and master the arts… It’s sad that society has allowed those who do not posses a warrior spirit, to be lazy, unfit, cowardly and dishonorable while sitting on their ass, criticize those who do posses a warrior spirit and has dedicated themselves to “The Way”…
    .
This lesson is directly for the practitioners of the ancient Japanese koryu martial arts of the ninja and samurai, such as ninjutsu (ninpo) and bujutsu (budo).

Soke, you are damn right. Modern world is nothing more than a negative activity. A true warrior should be a great about the sacred path.

I love that you are teaching out in the elements so your students are experiencing their movements with the elements such as trying to counter into a headwind.
Second, I never saw the drawn blade as that - ki saki (? Sp) toward the opponent. I always thought of having the length of the blade toward the enemy to make a larger block.....but the scorpion always points it tip toward the danger!!!!
    Thank.you, Anshu.
    All my respect.
