(Jeremy) We hope you're ready for some rumbles in the jungles of Orazca, as we take on the Rivals of Ixalan Legends! Decklists can be found here: www.starcitygames.com/article/36512_Commander-VS-Commanders-Of-Rivals-Of-Ixalan.html
Bred For the Hunt is the card Stephen was talking about - gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=420803
Rip Headphones
You could have used the merfolk enchantment to tap for kumena
Star City Games hey Jeremy, I have a thought about a solution to your relationship with chaos.
How about anytime the table decides to kill someone based on your player cards, you have an extra one in the pile with an eyepatch and mustache drawn on.
Whenever evil Jeremy is chosen, the aggressor suffers whatever the chosen player would have.
Here's an idea for Randomonium:
-Randomly pair up for 2 headed giant
-both teams choose a tribe at random from a list of say 20. Then each team makes 2 decks with different commanders of that type. Example: goblins, 1 krenko deck, 1 shattergang brothers deck.
List of viable tribes:
Goblins, Merfolk, Vampires, Zombies, Dragons, Cats, Wizards, Dinosaurs, Sphinxes, Humans, Angels, Demons, Eldrazi, Elves, Krakens, Pirates, Snakes, Insects, Avatars, Aetherborn, Spirits, Elementals, and Allies.
Jonathan leaving his general in the graveyard, Justin yelling his generals name, Jeremy picking himself to die, and Stephen with the comeback. This is now one of my favorite episodes, GG guys.
thats just how elenda works
kiltman101 I know that but why did he keep her there and not use a Phyrexian Rebirth or something to get her back
he never drew those cards
@@kiltman1012 not anymore baby
I watched this on a first date, and had her screaming "ZACAMA!"
Frosty during sexy time?
you're my hero, bro! XD
"When you hitting it from behind and she turns around and screams "ZACAMAA!!"
Nut
Marry her
Seeing Jeremy choose himself week after week is 10 out of 10.
Steven Askew I feel so bad bc I want him to win, but it’s to funny to not laugh
Jeremy picking himself is one of the funniest gags in this show. I genuinely laugh out loud every time it happens.
That's rough. At least he isn't getting screwed over by his teammate in "Secret Partners."
The enchantment Stephen was thinking about at the beginning was probably Bred for the Hunt.
Yep, that's the one.
My boyfriend and i watched Commander VS as a first date. He is in S. Korea right now teaching and we try to sync watching the videoes together and talk about it. I dunno if this would count though lol
One of my favorite episodes so far! I was expecting the UW deck to lose, but it made a fantastic comeback!
John just need on draw sign in blood 🤔
41:30 Sorry, Jon. Trigger missed.
Favourite video so far... Love comebacks like that. And the random cards he had in his deck are exactly what people dont expect or build to counter. Works great in multiplayer
Man one of the best Commander Vs videos since probably mono mill
Really enjoy this channel. Unlike all the others that just try to go infinite combo. This is what edh is supposed to be.
Still waiting for elder dinosaur highlander, just 4 elder dinosaurs decks fighting it out
I second this motion.
Rogtilop I won't live happily until I see Zapalta Voltron
Wait all you like.
I believe this is happening this Friday on Twitch. I'm not sure if Jeremy is partaking in the match, but Praetor Magic is the Twitch channel that is doing it if Jeremy isn't.
Update. Jeremy is doing Elder Dino Highlander this Friday. twitter.com/jeremynoell/status/956187434684993536
I’ve been watching cmdr vs since the one v one days. And I think one of the elements that I love most about cmdr vs is the fact that everything is natural. There’s banter back in forth, misplays, Random chaos, laughing, spite plays etc... it reminds me of my old playgroup. And some of the most fun moments that I get to relive by watching you guys. I tried watching some of the other commander shows on RUclips but a lot of them feel so scripted. A real honest game has some bad plays, but the most important thing isn’t who’s more competitive or the best player it’s having fun which CMDR VS does best. Keep making videos guys it makes my week seeing new episodes.😬😬
THIS WAS THE GREATEST VIDEO OF COMMANDER VS EVER
Anyone else feel wes wise smile when Stephen cast cryptic?
WHAT AN EPISODE!!! That ending WOW!!
If covid has been good for one thing it's giving me time to watch all these awesome older games again.
Good games guys, as always its a pleasure to watch you guys play. Sorry Jeremy for biting the dust so early. Someday you will get good luck
23:55 Not to be that guy, but Innistrad vampires do see themselves in mirrors -- their reflection just shows their mortal form, which they avoid at all costs. Just pointing out that even in a world that is deliberately built on gothic horror tropes (which I love), Wizards gives everything a unique touch.
Bred for the Hunt is the Simic enchantment Stephen refers to at the beginning of the episode; I desperately tried to make it work in Standard with pretty bad results.
Or forced adaptation
Wat
jerald gardiner He spelled it like that on purpose, yah goof
that's pretty cool actually
*sits down* And why do they avoid looking at their mortal form?
Still one of my favorite episodes. Watched this easily 5+ times!
love the new intro with the generals behind you guys
That ending though. Very good episode with all around good and interesting decks indeed.
Stephen Green, the Simic card you mentioned in the deck tech is Bred for the Hunt, included in the Atraxa precon and played by myself and Kyle S, who just loves all things Simic.
Love the new intro!
OMG CANT BELIEVE STEPHEN DID IT !! AHAH WHAT A BEAST :p good job man nice game
oh and 11/10 for Jeremy ahah
That ending was something given to us by the gods of mtg
Favorite commander video by far. Always happy to comment
One of the best episodes you guys have had.
Great episode. Random. Fun. Thats what magic is all about
I love the new intro with the players and their generals.
The enchantment Steven was talking about was bred for the Hunt 1UG Enchantment whenever a creature you controll with a +1/+1 counter on it deals combat damage to a player, you may draw a card.
"ZACAMA!!!"-Justin Parnell
The best line I've heard from this show in a while
Wow that was epic! Commander VS flavor at the highest level
This episode is an 11/10....one of the all time best.
Definitely top 5 best commander games I've ever seen!
I LOVE THIS SERIES, hardest laughs yet this episode
This is one of the best episode ever. A lot of laughs which is what I love about this show. 10/10, Zacama!, Jeremey gets randomly picked, Steven comeback, and jokes all along the way, R.I.P. headphones. This episode would be a great first date!
Loved that Jeremy selected himself xD
Just 3-4 cards that I would like to see a deck build around.
Riku of Two Reflections or Maelstrom Wanderer as general (And the remaining of the two in the 99) with
Sunbird's Invocation and Rashmi, Eternities Crafter in the deck.
The goal (dream) is to cast Wanderer from hand, cascade twice, with Rashmi, and Sunbird's triggers on the stack, and hopefully cast a lot of crazy stuff for free.
Wasnt expecting justin to not play elenda the grave pact aristocrat
Right? I had my guesses on who would play what and the /only/ one I got was Jeremy. I figured Suarez would be on Azor and Steven on ZACAMA!
I gotta say I was SHOCKED that Justin didn’t play Elenda. She is literally EVERYTHING he loves to do. Between that deck choice, Jonathan making ZERO effort to actually play a deck based on Elenda...and I do mean ZERO effort...and the constant screaming Zacama nonsense...this is only the second video of theirs I’ve ever voted down on. But it definitely earned it.
All I hope is that Elenda gets another shot on VS with a pilot who doesn’t feel like he got tricked into playing her and at least makes the minimal effort to take a short trip over to edhrec and find that there are amazing things to do with her other than let her die once, for two tokens...then move on to other things... So annoying.
what an AWESOME game. Never give up!
SPOILER: Stephen sitting at the lowest life total the whole game, Going to 1 life, then end up winning at the end probably makes this the greatest commander game that the VS series has ever had. Amazing, just amazing. Team GREEN!!!!
Random comment generator. Roll a D6:
1. ZACAMA!
2. RIP headphones.
3. ZACAMA!
4. Jeremy "randomly" eliminated again.
5. ZACAMA!
6. ZACAMA!
If you roll a D20, 7-20 are ZACAMA!
Man is Jeremy ever regretting using that witch's black cat to break that mirror under a ladder while holding an open umbrella inside and not sending that chain letter to seven people by midnight, now
(Jeremy) Probably just the cain letter. I don't think the rest has anything to do with my luck.
@16:50 Krasis Incubation and Bred for the Hunt are from Dragon's Maze - Evolution Vat from Dissension is the closest to Hadana's Climb.
Biomass Mutation, the instant from Gatecrash, might be what you have in mind.
11/10 Random is hilarious. Keep up the great work =)
That wink was golden!!! Game starts at 20:05. Them Censoring Green when he said "Ah Sh!T" I could not stop laughing. This was at 1:43:28. Jeremy deciding his fate at 2:01:55 was also just as good.
I can't believe my boy was able to pull through this game
What a comeback, so hype
ZACAMA!!!!lmao great intro and also mine commander in mine tribal dino deck and it rocks keep it up guys greetings from holland
ONE OF THE GREATEST COMEBACKS IN COMMANDER VS HISTORY!!
This ZACAMA!!! deck is so much more fun that this boring staple deck from Game Knights. Please note that I am only comparing those decks and not the series.^^
You guys are still the more creative ones and I like it ;)
Forgot to post last video, but I love the new intro. It looks really good!
Jeremy!! You can tap merrow commerce for kumena. It doesn't specify a creature is required
You can tap Merrow Commerce to use Kumena's abilities! The costs on Kumena's activated abilities require that you tap an untapped Merfolk, not an untapped Merfolk creature. Merrow Commerce is a merfolk (hence why Kopala protected it) and untaps itself with its own triggered ability as well.
I was making sure this wasn't already a comment before I put it here, glad I'm not the only one who caught it.
Absolutely love Jeremy getting “randomly” getting selected over and over.
Also wow! What a finish.
"They gotta be focused on something"
*wink*
Excellent.
love the new intros that y'all do right before turn 1
Stephen holding everyone at bay with that Counterspell reminds me of Brick Tamland running around the battlefield with his grenade. Instead of screaming "AHHHH LOUD NOISES" it's "ZACAMAAAA"
Love this episode!! It had really funny plays, it had jeremy losing every random situation, and team green won!
That last deathmatch was great!
Amazingly funny episode, loved the high five moments! Though i do mislike the randomness, i believe he wouldn't have chosen to attack Jeremy.
this was uploaded on my birthday and my favorite player won. Lit
Randomonium Idea:
Build around randomly drawn deck archehtype + random (versatile) commanders.
Example Archetypes:
Voltron
Big Aggro
Group Hug OR Group Slug (you choose!)
Aggro-Combo
"Thief" Control
Goodstuff
Swarm/Tokens Aggro
Control-Combo
Example Versatile commanders list:
Marath, Will of the Wild
Tasigur, The Golden Fang
Zur the Enchanter
Prossh, Skyraider of Kher
Derevi, Empyrial Tactician
Queen Marchesa
Horde of Notions
Karador, Ghost Chieftain
I liked this video for the Parnell wink lmao
Good Job Green, you play great! 👌
Great video as always! I would prefer it if you didn't make decisions randomly, but if you guys find it fun that's what matters, Commander Vs works because you're all having fun together on camera :) ZACAMA!!!
Don't ever forget the City Blessing...in your heart:P
Without spoiling the ending, DAMN I didn’t see that coming
There are few things I love more than an X/blue deck locking down a board on thin margins. Even better that it was for Team Green.
ZACAMA!!!!
49:55 something something key to success is consistency 2:00:05
52:30 YES! An Always Sunny reference! Best episode!
I have not laugh some much in a long while. Great Video!
I was watching this while on the bus home
This is an awesome episode!
I loved when Stephen straight up just showed Justin the counter spell in his hand 😂 when all else fails, just straight up show your responses lol
Im in love with Stephen green 💖
Thats my boy #estephanverde another great win and great episode of #CMDRVS
Jeremy deserves a week of invulnerability from the random choice. Just one episode.
At around 1 hour in, when they were rewinding due to Kopala, Justin could've targeted the enchantment with the copied ability. That would've circumvented Kopala's ability since it is not an ability he activated anymore but put it directly onto the stack.
This was an awesome episode!!!!!
This episode was fantastic
I made cards with all the decimals between 9,5 and 10. Picked one at random and it was Jeremy Noel
1:09:17 Justin was able to destroy the merfolk enchantment. He only had to target a non-merfolk artifact/enchantment and have the copy of the ability target the merfolk enchantment.
9.95, I feel Jeremy would pick himself in 100 tokens. You guys are great, love the banter and gameplay.
I think for combat, unless a card forces a random choice for who/what to attack, all players should always make their own choice. It makes the decisions stronger and make politics more interesting.
Might be one of the most beautiful endings to a game that I’ve ever seen
I played Stephen's mono blue kamigawa deck and cast Sunder twice in one turn through two counter spells during a game on MTGO
"Stephen reaches behind his lower back side and pulls out a victory." Excellent job.
woah! That new intro was awesome!
you actually could have tapped the enchantment for Kumena's ability since it refers to a Merfolk, not specifically a creature, therefore a tribal enchantment that has the merfolk creature type, although is not itself a creature is able to be used for this ability
Old Gregg, fantastic!
Did not watch this video on a first date, but did watch a StarCity Open weekend on a first date.
Stephen the card you were thinking of in the beginning was Bred for the hunt
Bred for the Hunt is a sick card. 1UG for an enchantment that says whenever a creature with a one one counter deal combat damage to a player you may draw a card.
Best episode to date!!!
So some good new, and some more bad news. I made dinner for my date, we will call her "Jennifer". We are talking about our hobbies and then somehow magic comes up. She says she loves the show! Good news number 1. We throw on this episode and bad news number 1 comes up almost instantly.... she's a Jeremy fan. Needless to say, I don't know how this is gonna end up;) love you guys, keep up the great content. Hope you don't get mad on the technicality that is this a second date cause the first time we met we just randomly met and had a date that night
ZACAMA!!!!!!!!!
I'm pretty sure you can tap Merrow Commerce since it is a merfolk for Kumena's abilities.
When new blood took Zacama the copy of the triggered ability from illusionists bracers still belongs to Justin at 01:11:00
I don't have a date story but I'd totally rewatch this on a first date if it meant that I'd watch it with Jon
3:53 That wink though, lol!
In regards to Justin's Zacama & Illusionist Bracers targeting the Merfolk enchantment - Kopala makes abilities that target a merfolk cost an additional 2 generic to activate... but what if he used the free copy of the ability? AKA - he didn't pay to activate the copy - it was a triggered ability that copied an activated ability. It is not inherently tied to a cost as it is a separate effect on the stack, right?
#TeamGreen One More for the Good Guys! Great game guys.
