    During my time in the USAF, I got to watch a night air refueling of a C-5 Galaxy. From the boom pod of the KC-135, I couldn't see the nose, tail, or either wing tip. It was HUGE!
    Later twice I flew as a passenger on the C-5 in the upper aft passenger section above the cargo bay. I nice ride even though the seats face backwards and there a only a few small windows for a view outside. Thanks for bringing back these memories.

    You crushed it with the gravel placement! While watching I realized the beds are going to be even more productive because of your sandy hard bottom, it's better than heavy clay as it will stay less silty as the fish build their beds making it easier for them to keep it clean and their eggs oxygenated while fanning and protecting the nests. I would suggest making some horizontal brush piles, placing them around the edges of the beds as extra places for the fry to hide quickly once they hatch and leave the nest protection of the males. I love seeing your plan come together Brian!

    • @BrushCommando
      @BrushCommando  2 дня назад +1

      @@BassGuy1 thanks, plenty of sand in the areas where the beds are. Placing brush piles close by is a great idea.

    • @BassGuy1

      You are giving your fish every opportunity to reproduce in large numbers, grow and survive to feed your bass. If you have some shady areas in other parts of the lake, you can place the gravel even shallower in 12- 20 inches of water, fish will stay on beds longer due to indirect sun light and cooler temps in those areas during the heat of the hot days around spawning periods. Brian you already have a existing population of big bass that will put the hammer down eating the existing and new bluegills as they expand into all the new areas of the renovated lake you've created. You are blessed to have your feeder pond coming online, you will be able hype feed your blugill forage to grow faster saving lots of money in restocking fees. By setting back up your automatic feeders you also will be adding more protein the bluegills can eat and grow quicker that tranfers to the bass upon eating them. I would hold off stocking anymore catfish for a couple of years to reduce competiton for food for your bass. You are making a amazing fishery Sir!🫡👍

    I'm no fisheries biologist but I've always been told to go with natural pea gravel and to avoid crushed slag. They say natural pea gravel is best due to it's smooth edges and fish are naturally drawn to it especially bluegill and bass. I really can't tell what you used but it looks like some quarry screenings. What did you use and what factors did you use to decide the best to use. My experience has always lain on the hammering end and not the spawning end. Personally I don't even fish spawning bass. If you explained it in the video, I'm sorry I didn't hear it.
