    And when you know all these, continue with the maj7, dominant7, minor7, diminished7 chords, they have 4 inversions each so you must learn 4 x 12 x 4 = 192 chord shapes 🤯 But learning them will become easier with the practice 😉

    Extremely helpful! I had a teacher explain this to me as being just "playing the closest available chord". It would've originally been easier if they had explained the 1-4-5 progression being root-2nd-1st inversion, and then kept the same pattern when you start on different inversions (starting at 1st you would play 1st-root-2nd, etc.)

    My jaw just dropped at @ ...... when all of a sudden he just went up and down the keyboard with all those inversions ----- and played them 'at will'. That was really good. And then my jaw dropped again later into the video - after seeing that the teacher was able to play ALL the possible inversions - any one of them - at any time. That was awesome actually.

    OK, I'm watching this for the third time and I'm still practicing this. I've remembered it but I haven't mastered it yet. But for some reason, I'm perseverent. I'm also doing this going up the circle of fourths and fifths. But I am doing all the different possibilities of the inversions.

    great tips as usual, something I found useful is to always bear the chord key note in mind, especially for second and third inversions where the first and the third note of a basic triad always form a 4th interval. For instance, for a C major chord (the 4th interval indicated in brackets):
    E(GC)
    (GC)E
    (GC) interval remains the same. This true for both major and minor chords.
    Now, the middle note of major triad being a Major 2nd interval when added on the right-hand-side of the 4th interval BUT a minor 2nd interval if added on the left-hand-side of the 4th interval:
    m2(GC)
    (GC)M2
    The opposite is true for a minor chord.
    M2(GC)
    (GC)m2
    Practising 4th as intervals comes in handy then, while navigating a m2 or M2 is visually easier.

      This was great, been searching for "learning piano chords and scales" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Nonason Ranincoln Genie - (just google it )?
      It is a smashing exclusive product for discovering how to play the piano like a pro minus the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my buddy got excellent results with it.

    • @coloaten6682
      @coloaten6682 3 года назад +4

      @@mykasiurka IMO there is no substitute for hard work when learning piano. It's the "hard" part that makes us learn more effectively. If all learning were easy then it probably means we aren't learning very effectively. When "hard" becomes easy, through practice, that is a sure sign that effective learning is taking place. Just my opinion :)

      That was your informative article, here are a few more tips on how to play the piano…
      Try practicing for 1 hour every day, or 1/2 an hour if you short of time.
      Do extra practice whenever you have more time. For example, on weekends you could do more than 1 hour, like two or 3, or even more. This is very helpful because it pulls you out of the routine of piano playing, and lets you practice more and perfect the pieces you play.
      Listen to the song or piano piece you are playing. For example, if you are taking piano lessons and are about to play a new piece, you can try searching on the internet for videos or songs and hear how it sounds. This can be very helpful because it teaches you how a song is played and lets you recognize the 'emotion,' the piece is giving out.
      Try not to look at the dynamics in a piece, as rules you cannot break. For example, if the piece starts with an 'mp' (mezzo-piano) it only means 'moderately soft' these dynamics don't have specific volume levels. If you are practicing, you don't need to play accordingly and then have a difficulty hearing yourself, you should only play as it tells you when you are actually trying to play it properly.
      Practice sight-reading and don't worry about making mistakes. This can be very helpful, because it's almost like scanning a paragraph and looking at the picture. It helps you to understand what the passage is trying to convey before you actually read it and lets you know what comes next. This is the same with music, and it can help you stop making mistakes.
      (I discovered about these and more on Denelle piano lesson site )

    • @josephguida5432
      @josephguida5432 4 года назад +2

      Amal Raj Hello Amal. I’m only a beginner but maybe if I share with you my routine (based on this lesson) it might work well for you too. I’ll do root, 1st and 2nd of the 1 chord. Then the R, 1st and 2nd of the 4. Then the R, 1st and 2nd of the 5. Then I’ll go through the Ex. #2 about 5 times with one hand at a slow 1 per beat at 60 bpm. After that Ex # 2 about 10 times at 2 per beat at 60 bpm. Then I repeat the process with my left hand. Then I also do Ex. #3.
      Then I do hands together of the process from the beginning. Sometimes I find that it takes a little longer to get the “...10 times at 2 per beat at 60 bpm” when I’m playing both hands but I only started practicing this lesson 2 days ago.
      I think I’ll try alternate inversion/root when simply going through the same chord when using both hands, as you mentioned in your question.
      Also, here is the fingering I use ,for the right hand , that seems to be working well for me if you want to give it a try. Root- 1,2 and 3; 1st Inv.-1,2 and 4; 2nd Inv.- 1,2 and 3. My 2nd Inv. fingering is considered to be unorthodox but it seems to be making this exercise really easy. Doing only the 1st inversion with each hand separately and chromatically a few times (same for the 2nd inversion) really helped too.
