If I recall it correctly, the purpose of the training video was to show that you can take something as simple as an automated coffee machine and overcomplicate explanations as to what each part does [and alienate the users]. Cookie Monster was acting as the computer 'gremlin', wearing out components, breaking components down [in an exaggerated way]. I think it was also to show that having expensive, custom-built components instead of off-the-shelf parts is a bad idea.

I think this training video was too make sure people actually read product information before using it. This is an important thing to remember since failing to do so can lead to damage to machines or computers. That is a big waste of money for companies.
