Fun fact I read somewhere: The Thompson submachine gun is often linked to the mafia not because it was commonly used by them , but because movies often showed the mafia using the gun. In reality it was extremely rare to see mafia and other gangsters buying a weapon so expensive
A quick google search discredits this though. "Because it could be obtained so easily, the Thompson became notorious during the Prohibition era as the signature weapon of various organized crime syndicates in the United States in the 1920s. It was a common sight in the media at the time, and was used by both law enforcement officers and criminals."

Dad was in charge of an extreme gun squad. He was given a Thompson but gave it away to one of his men . He picked up a 1911 from a dead soldier. He was an extreme marksman and didn't need a sniper . He had most faith in the M1 . I'm not sure why the 1911 wasn't issued to him . He said that the M1 was good for street Fighting until my uncle questioned him about clearing buildings. He didn't say much because I was there. When he came back his favorite sport was hunting squirrels with a 22 revolver . I never saw him miss.. Probably hard to determine who should've had one but I know that many Germans died from it. Dad was a natural so it was probably not comparable.to many. He also took up archery and within months with a recurve was out shooting everyone at the range . With a bow against someone with a handgun I would bet on him . Many busted knocks and gouged wood shafts. He broke in service his bayonet from throwing it into a tree before going through the Hedge row country. I never saw him throw a knife but I'm sure he was deadly accurate.
When I was doing security contracting in Africa I used a mp-40 until I got my hands on an AK. But I loved that Mp-40. Also I bought a Arisaka and that rifle is amazing.

My favorite weapons of World War II are the FG-42, the M-1 garand, the M1 carbine, the STG-44 assault rifle which inspired the AK-47, AKM, HK-416, AK-74S, the AK-74, The M16, the AR-15 and the M-4A1 assault rifle, the stinger machine gun, the MG-42 light machine gun which inspired the M-60 light machine gun series of machine guns and the FN MINIMI series of light machine guns and the m1911a1 pistol
Fun fact for the STG/MP44 the main reason it was originally named the MP(Machine pistol) 44 was during that time in the war Hitler wanted only smgs so they snuck it in under the MP44 but when Hitler saw the rifle he loved it and it was renamed to the more accurate STG44 which irrc translates to storm rifle 44 which is pretty accurate for the weapon
Mein Ehr, Mein Loyalität KoroGro Just because he mentioning a gun that just so happens to be in cod doesn't mean he's a cod fanboy. If he did a modern list of this and forgot the m4 or something, would you call me a fanboy for saying he forgot it.
shortvidguy 1 It is a real gun, it was the replacement for Thompson. Because the us already made the very expansive m1 garand. A other expansive the Thompson was a bit too much so he got replaced. It was used i think until the golf war by tank crews.
Then China(People's Republic of China) copies the AK-47 then names it Type 56 Rifle and Israel and Poland did the same thing but different design so Israel and Poland made the Galil and FB Beryl M762 and then Russia copies the M762 then names it AK-12.
@@BloodFourBlood no. I watched a documentary of it where they test fired it and the MINIMUM rate of was 1200. It couldn't fire less than that and the average rate of fire was 1500....like I said, depending on the pins and bolts used, it could fire up to 2,000 rounds/min but they had to stop making them fire that fast because it warp the barrel too quickly
@@UFCMania155 it just sounds a bit too fast for a buzzsaw. I have never heard anyone say that it could shoot anything near 2000 rpm. Ik that the different bolts change the cycling rate. But 2k rpm is basically minigun speed.

I like that you only gave the useful info and the stuff that would benefit people the most and help other students like me. While I already knew a lot of this stuff cause I love WW2 I will definitely use this as a very good piece for revision and can show it to my mates. I feel like you should maybe re-upload with moor guns (E.G the type 100 smg and type 99 lmg). But I still love how quick and easy this. You just got a new sub. P.S You should do a video about tanks , planes , ships and field guns in their own video. I really think that would help people as most of the internet is shit for info when it comes to these.

The thompson m1928 a1 and the m1a1 are one of a kind , I think they were the best weapons for the allied forces of USA 🇺🇸 THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS only few personnel had those thompson high fire rate smg unlike the Germans , almost all of the Germans had the mp40 with them ..
I mean, that's objectively false about the MP40. the MP40 was only issued in large quantities to squad leaders and vehicle crewmen. The average German soldier was equipped with the Kar98k, with all squads either equipped with a single MG34 or MG42 which all squad members were trained to use. The Tommy gun was a brilliant firearm, and its relatively low numbers (due to it being a squad leaders' and vehicle crewmans' weapon, similarly to the MP40) was compensated for by American infantry squads being given large numbers of Browning Automatic Rifles and semi-automatic rifles such as the Garand.

So they nerfed/banned Shotguns for WW2?
No, officialy they used only one - M30 Luftwaffe Drilling used only by the German air force - Luftwaffe
Winchester and Ithaca shotguns were still used by US forces.
Not really... but they were used some.
@@Warriorbob-im5py But no more than in WWI
I believe there was a ban on shotguns used in warfare but that was not honored by the US which used them for close in fighting.
My favorite is the german KAR-98 and STG-44.
which karabiner 1898?
Karabiner Modell 1898 Kurz?(1935)
Karabiner Modell 1898 AZ?(1899)
The Republic of Rusoior Mauser K98 Kurz
My favorite is that weird deformed bent gun and that huge train gun.
Kar98 is beast

Simple History sorry and italian smg??

Simple History Its me!
Correct!
Some of those guns aren't even World War 2 guns.I doubt you will answer this because it's been thousands of years since you commented on this
The Beretta Italian SMG was one of the best, you forgot it, GG
Well ik you sent this 7 months ago but italians got their one vid tooo
And the Soviet PPS-43 as well.

I like how you used call of duty 1 sounds for some of the guns
Green Fogguni because those were the guns that were used in CoD 1 and 2
Green Fogguni Do you mean black ops 1.
Ya Boi Flicky your stupid
gamerboy330 you're *
Green Fogguni are you sure call of duty didn't just use similar gun sounds
I found the thompson more interesting, considering it had a cheaper twin i never knew of, it's a nice machine weapon, really powerful too.

3:48 lmao why does he look so tired compared to the other figures
Many German soldiers were in fact really tired and because most were using drugs like meth to stay awake in fact meth started as a war drug.
It was because he is an old officer/general
Those are German eyes
So thats why i there's so many sleeping Germans in sniper elite. It all makes sense now...
He is having PTSD flashbacks.

Ummmmm M3 grease gun......
Virtual Drifter call of duty fan boy
Virtual Drifter I can’t believe they missed the M3, you can even see it in some of the photos
Mein Ehr, Mein Loyalität KoroGro Just because he mentioning a gun that just so happens to be in cod doesn't mean he's a cod fanboy. If he did a modern list of this and forgot the m4 or something, would you call me a fanboy for saying he forgot it.
shortvidguy 1
It is a real gun, it was the replacement for Thompson. Because the us already made the very expansive m1 garand. A other expansive the Thompson was a bit too much so he got replaced. It was used i think until the golf war by tank crews.
Virtual Drifter it’s a sub machine gun
MP 44 and 40 would inspire the modern day AK 47 and MP 5
And literally every other assault rifle ever
Then China(People's Republic of China) copies the AK-47 then names it Type 56 Rifle and Israel and Poland did the same thing but different design so Israel and Poland made the Galil and FB Beryl M762 and then Russia copies the M762 then names it AK-12.

M3 “Grease Gun” (wasn’t included)
M1911

The MG42 could actually fire up to 2000 rounds/min depending on the pins and bolts used. 1600 rounds/min was the average though
Good lord
pretty sure the average "only" was around 1200. And it maximum rpm was 1500 rpm.
@@BloodFourBlood the minigun fires 3000 rounds/min....again it depended on the pins and bolts it used because they were on ball bearings...it was a way different mechanism of firing than other machine guns of the time. THAT'S why it could fire so fast
Really Really loved this video. While you didn't mention quite a lot of guns the ones you did mention were some of the most famous and important guns used by main factions.
Glad our videos help your revising! As a fan of tanks you can expect to see this video soon.

i don't know about that ihave shot a m1a1 and m1911 and they don't sound the same and that loud...
Burgerplayer ,
noticed that
yep especially mg42
I like how all the gun sounds are from COD2
TheCrayonMan529 and bf1
NinHaiKai not the new games, the sounds are more akin to banging your head on a rock and saying "thats a shot"
The thompson m1928 a1 and the m1a1 are one of a kind , I think they were the best weapons for the allied forces of USA 🇺🇸
THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS only few personnel had those thompson high fire rate smg unlike the Germans , almost all of the Germans had the mp40 with them ..
