Their sound really opened up post-2007, I'd encourage anyone viewing to check out 'In Dream' in particular. They're kind of one of these edge-case bands between 'independent' cred and 'legacy act' or whatever. But Tom Smith is an incredibly talented vocalist and frontman. Good dudes, good music and they put on a killer live show. Hopefully seeing them again in Europe this fall :)
If you ever get a chance to see them live, please do - especially during the tour of the latest album. It's the most experimental and intense I've ever seen them. What an incredible experience.
Amazing. But far too short. Went by in a blink. Loved these guys for years and they never disappoint. And massive cudos to KEXP sound team. On my hifi speakers this sounded immense!
Denys Huchenko Studio cuts tend to sound more clinical for natural performers ... the raw emotion sometimes filters out. I think Editors at times also have overthought their studio versions. “Two Hearted Spider,” for example had the life sucked from it vs. the early performances.
Awesome performance, I love this band, but what's with the wide shot showing the cameraman and host giving the back to the camera while blocking tha bassist ???
b o r i n g - struggle to see how this is a relevant sound right now...sounds like some power ballad from the 90's...but then i have always had an issue with this band. always trying hard to sound relevant but never really hitting the mark or offering an interesting sound. this is bland...shame, was hoping they'd developed their musical skills but everything just sound so flat...
I agree that they haven't improved as much as we would have liked, but to say that their sound is not relevant is kinda stretching it. This is a band respected throught the world.
They fell into the void after Chris Urbanowicz left, his rickenbacker guitar lines were absolutely vital....can't replace that not even by adding two cool looking guitarists with tons of fancy pedals sorry.
These cats have been doing this for 16 years?! Where the hell have i been?? Love them. Thank you, KEXP!
lisa owen-nielson check out ma papillon
you should probably listen to their old stuff is really good too.
on the first two albums they did waaaaaaaaaaaay better than this!

you've been missing out
such a strong and dominant voice

I first heard Nothingness in my car on my way down to Devon. Played it on loop for 3 hours. Perfection.
0:24 Magazine
4:35 Darkness At The Door
7:41 Interview
10:49 Nothingness
16:02 Hallelujah (So Low)
Thanks 💚
One of the best quality i've seen on kexp these years. Voice is perfect, sound too. Nothing else to say
The singer looks like the lovechild of Rupert Everett and Bono. What a great rock voice. Thanks for this performance, KEXP! New discovery for me.
God Damm... Tom I fucking love you...
Seen them live three times now and man i just love how Editors eveolves their sound with every album, man want to see them live again badly!
One of the best KEXP performances
I bought their album because of the beautiful picture cover, the box set that contains all songs sung here.
They are amazing!
Excellent performance by one of my all time favorite bands. So good to finally see them live recently in the US after so many years of listening.
Love this album. In my top 5 albums. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Tom loves his job and it shows.
I mean like 17:09.

I love how he is using the Moog:-)
Music just so inviting that it flows through my veins. Excellent!
Por fin Editors en kexp 💗

I love Editors, great performance, the. Band is really tight 🎉😊
"These angels needs some tenderness." 🌸💕
Bang on as always "gotta quench that thirst"
❤ my favourite indie band
Great band
This rocks Tom is the best
Masterpiece
I like it! Thank you so much KEXP! Greetings from RUSSIA :)
Perfektni koncert . Editors jsou neskutečný zazitek 😅❤Dik
Meine Lieblingsband💜😍
So underrated
As many times it happens the KEXP performance sounds better than the album
Still can't understand why their live performances are so much better than album versions.
Great gig anyways.

@@wscottwalters74 I remember the old version before Chris left :(
Fuck yeah great performance. Nothingness is such a TUNE.
2:57 where that mic at??
The album with Brian Eno with the band that included Leo Abrahams was amazing , there are videos available on the RUclips with the sessions

Better then Coldplay!
Coldwho 😀

Not even the same category
Lol
Pucha podrían haber tocado "Violence" o "Couting Spooks"
That bass tone, tho.
Porque solo cuatro canciones? Baby G- sus llorará!
Ведущему тоже респект!

Awesome performance, I love this band, but what's with the wide shot showing the cameraman and host giving the back to the camera while blocking tha bassist ???
Saw them at Hyde park - fucking ace
Great band, but I prefer their early records
Weird not hearing Tom swear.
Шикарно
😊
I was there and their show the next night @numos
Unreal band for now 23 years
Me gusta Tom cuando canta solo sin esos coros del otro cantante que no suma para mí. Gustos son gustos.
The guy on the synthesizer looks like that one actor from... Yea
100
yeah they have done it all, they even kicked out their former guitarist
I love their 3rd album. Recent album not so much.
I wonder if the Editors can take on the DJ host in a fight?
C'mon Where's the Darkness, Sounds like COLDPLAY?
I prefer just Tom with an acoustic guitar over this.
I was a huge fan and now Im not, this sounds boring
Then you weren't really a true fan
b o r i n g - struggle to see how this is a relevant sound right now...sounds like some power ballad from the 90's...but then i have always had an issue with this band. always trying hard to sound relevant but never really hitting the mark or offering an interesting sound. this is bland...shame, was hoping they'd developed their musical skills but everything just sound so flat...

Same here. And to me the vocalist seems kind of weak sounding here. Don't know if that's always the case?
Are you serious? Weak? I've seen them many times live and his voice has never failed a second!!!Love them!
If you ever see them live, the last thing you would call them is weak!
They fell into the void after Chris Urbanowicz left, his rickenbacker guitar lines were absolutely vital....can't replace that not even by adding two cool looking guitarists with tons of fancy pedals sorry.
"Darkness At The Door" is almost an integral rip off of "Tulsa Imperative" from The Mountain Goats. That was really fucking low, shame on these guys.
Sorry Editors, but here you do not sound good. You are still number one among young bands, but Chris should come back.
Chris seems pretty happy with his "retirement". Unfortunately. I just wish he'd make music again, but if he's happy, I'm happy for him.
This must be the most boring sound I´ve heard in years, all these songs sound the same, like some bad radio station from the 90's
"the one, the only, editors"
well, that's a strange introduction for a cheap interpol knockoff
they are like miles apart from Interpol, and both are great, so that's a weird statement to make
they're a bit meh
LOS AMOOOOO
