It's a common question - "Do I need to go abroad to learn a language? ...to discover culture? ...to have fun?"
Of course not. You can conjugate Spanish verbs in your local library, try something different from your grocer's freezer, or entertain yourself with video games. But do you WANT to?

Going abroad with AFS was the best decision I ever made for myself. My year in Germany has been very beneficial to my everyday life, and though I may not speak German like a native it's better than any German I learned during my high school years (no offense to my teachers :P)
