To those who miss the second secret at 4:57, you need to press Action key along with forward to grab this, jumping will not get there as you miss it by just a few pixels. hope this helps for people who missed out :)

Ah, nothing beats the original Tomb Raider! I loved everything about this game, from the locations, interesting levels, cool story and puzzles, to the iconic classy but mysterious music. Its just one of those things that never gets old or boring. Like a movie you could put on constantly and it never looses its charm (cough Empire Strikes Back cough). Thanks Steven for taking the time to play the original TR. You get through so fast but skilled. I normally take 6 hours not 4.

You are totally right Sarah! Nothing will ever compare to the first and original TR1. The atmosphere and feeling of total isolation in the first game was never matched again! In particular the much later games after Core Design. The music was special and very eerie, by the legend that is Nathan McRee. My favourite game ever! I need to play it again 😁

Only 4 hours! Lol I remember how it took me months to beat the game. I spent a whole month stuck in the cistern because I missed an underwater passage which led to a switch you have to activate in order to progress. I played every night, in absolute desperation, thinking and thinking till I saw that passage. No guides, no internet, no youtube, no playthroughs... Those were the days.
I always say that nothing feels so Tomb Raider as the first Tomb Raider. The music is pure magic and mystery.
    So many good memories.

When I was ten, I got my first ever playstation, and as well as the games I got with the bundle, I also got this. Sadly, I lost my sight months later, but can still remember the incredible graphics this game had, compared to the 8-bit Sega and Nintendo games I'd played before it.

I remember when I bought this game for my Playstation. I was 15 or so.
I was really scared at times because you never knew what was lurking around the next corner. And the whole general atmosphere was so good because of the sounds that you always felt really lost and alone.
In today's parts of the series you always have so much action and story that even in the biggest temples you don't have the feeling of being alone anymore.

God, I love the classic Tomb Raider games so much. Back when your hand wasn't being held almost every minute, you had to figure everything out by yourself, the puzzles took some time to solve, the atmosphere perfectly matched each location (with or without music), and Lara Croft was a straightforward badass who jumped through as many hoops as it took to get what she wanted, consequences be damned.
I know it seems useless at this point, but since this game is now fully playable at 60 frames per second, I don't suppose you'll do an updated playthrough in the future, will you? Your skill level amazes me and I love how high quality your videos are, which makes it all the better.

60fps? You mean OpenLara? Handling, camera etc. They all feel different. Very similar but not identical. They're an approximation.
