If that wasn't a gold nugget right there!! That applies to life too in general.. how can we adapt to be our best at that time even if life isn't 100%! ❤
dude mat is bloody BRILLIANT! he trained like a friggin monk. no wonder his gym looks so lonely at times. not everyone is willing to be that disciplined
I’ve been loving your videos after seeing you with Mitch! I’ve been binging all the way back to the content with Juji. And today, the Trailer Park Boys reference solidified it. Love it man!
The key to crossfit is the exact opposite of crossfit. Extremely regimented. Specific training for specific movements/goals. Who'd have thought? Great interview.
Zack I love your weightlifting videos, your lift companion series ( especially with Dozer), your music is awesome, I dont like crossfit much but I love your interviews
When I hear the term "fit" I wonder exactly what that means. Different activities place different demands on the body & even the mind. Being fit for boxing does not make you fit for mountain climbing. I walk steep hills, lift weights but after not ice skating for years and starting again I found it took a while to get fit for skating.
^^^^ that comment right there there’s general fitness and then there is sports specific conditioning however I will say that a boxer and other combat sports will have very good general fitness because of the amount of cardio and strength conditioning goes into it. Another thing that was brought up though is mountain climbing and skating. Those also take different types of coordination movements, which again also doesn’t spell out whether they’re generally fit.
The definition of fitness that Greg Glassman (the creator of CrossFit) made is as follows: "Increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains" Quite literally this is a power output measurement (wattage) plotted against the effort time. If you look at that data and take the area under the curve you will see that as someone gets fitter their power output across multiple time domains and multiple modalities increases.
Sounds like progressive overload to me the way he describes repeating workouts but bumping the wattage, the cals, or the time domain. CrossFit can be effective at achieving a certain form of “fitness” via constant variation, but the lack of consistency also takes away from the athlete’s ability to benchmark and measure progress which is what ZT was asking about.
No comments about his cycle? In crossfit they sell you that you can reach the games by doing crossfit at the box while staying natural. That was his secret too?
Can we stop enabling this guy? He was good at competition, but he has no idea about what CrossFit is or how to coach it and he constantly lies about his "secret ways to get fittest in the world". This guy is the Lance Armstrong of CrossFit.
Can't teach any movement as shown in the video he did with Will Tennyson. Doesn't know about progressions or the methodology in general in how to introduce new movements and when to push intensity on people. Can't teach the pros either. Most of his athletes left him pretty quickly after signing on cause they all realised he was all talk. Mal O'brien got burnout from the sport cause all he knows is "MONKEY WORK HARD PAYS OFF" mentality.@@letransformateur6477
Can really tell Fraser is comfortable around you. He spoke in a way that showed vulnerability. Well done Zack! Keep on prying the gold out of him. Great fn interview. Can’t wait to to try 6 back squats EMOM x6🫡
Dude, you have some of the best interviews out there with Matt Fraser. Fantastic content.
Matt's interview is like a master class on fatigue management, I'm impressed.
I really enjoy you integrating your music into your videos, it's the perfect blend of two things you created.
Happy to see your feeling better man
Glad you're happy to see his feeling better

That’s being super in tune with your body, crazy. I’d expect nothing less than to be mind blown by the champion.
Phenomenal Song Man!! Glad you put that in there.
as a musician and lifter i just want to say, i love your music. you inspire in both music and fitness
congrats on the music my dude. It's a good easy listen and vibe.
Great video as always... and SO good to meet you at HWPO!! Keep the Lift Companion videos coming - so good.
dude mat is bloody BRILLIANT! he trained like a friggin monk. no wonder his gym looks so lonely at times. not everyone is willing to be that disciplined
That is some very valuable free information to be able to digest.
This is absolute gold content

Zack filming Matt just really reminds you how short Matt is and how tall Zack is

Great interview.

Great performance approach and mindset
Mat is just on another level
Should out to Ricky from Sunnyvale Trailer Park for that quote of pure wisdom
This loose ends song is tough!!! Keep going Zack!
Love the hat! Still at odds between buying their denim, or Juji's..
i got a road trip today and im gonna be blasting Telander
The "starring at the knot on the wall" explains so much about what set him apart
Don't believe this bullcrap
@Zeoilvia really? You think he's full of it?
@@Zeoilviathe work ethic isn’t bullcrap the supplements are what’s questionable
I love that damn music! Right up my alley. Where can I find more of it? Anyone?
OK. Got it from the end of the video
Great song awesome video thanks
Amazing video
We need a Telander x Bilmuri track.
Any idea where i can get that jaket or one simialr to it?
What is the name of the song at minute 2:37?
“The Forest” by Telander
Dude, just listened to your music, and its fucking amazing!!
If it isn’t steroids I don’t wanna hear it
😂

Fitness and conditioning are different. People get conditioned for boxing, but fitness refers to much more generalized physical capacities.

The definition fit for purpose springs to mind.
How do you like weightlifting in the barefoot shoes? Seems like a nice change of pace
It's like what they talk about in Atomic Habits: the aggregation of marginal improvements.
Bro, where is Clarence? Long time no see together
"Everybody is feeling great with sub 5 minute miles" ...lol
So he seems to be at least 20 lbs smaller than when he was competing. Is that what his walking around weight is?
EMOM’s for the win!
so good
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeaaah
Matt just threw out there his winning strategies. The rowing strategy with 5 rounds then 2 minutes off then 4 rounds is not for the faint
ZT you legend
Hell yeah
your music is lit, is like you are Hannah Montana living a double life
2000mg of test cyp per week?
Sounds a lot like squat every day programs or kinda Bulgarian programming ideology. But for CrossFit
Sounds like progressive overload to me the way he describes repeating workouts but bumping the wattage, the cals, or the time domain. No they don't.
They don’t say that. So, you should stop saying that they do.
no, only Asia and east european countries cycle, AMERICA has FREEDOM
No one thinks that nor have they even gotten close to saying that 😂
Don’t know what box you go to but no one has ever said anything like that… at least not after 2010
Gold
Definitely, a strong cycle of PEDs helps too. He will never mention that.
non competition Mat looks way healthier tbh
Where’s Clarence?????
Over here, like, “dang that was a GOOD opening question”
Holy shit that was a sick interview
Aw damn, have his book but never asked watched him speak
dude nice snatching
Those pants are expensive. 😏
That gym is always empty. Looks like a ghost town
They ain’t capable of sub 5 miles
I just wish Mat came out clean and say he is on Tren.
roids?
