Here's a little tidbit of info I just read in the rule book: All vehicles entered must be clean, rust-free and freshly painted a bright color. That's why they look so nice when parading around. You'd never know this was a rule 2 minutes after the race starts, LOL.
Most are barn finds these days. Depending on the driver some cars may last a whole season when they go for racing. The drivers who are up for a crash can use their car normally the whole day.

Seeing that old dodge Monaco Belgium hearse get trashed was terrible! Someone speant many hours hand making it. It was so nice before they did this to it, was a one of a kind car and it’s probably scrapped and gone forever after this. Would have been nice to see it get restored but that probably didn’t happen.

Hopefully one day the driver will regret trashing such an irreplaceable vehicle for no reason at all, there’s a million Mondeo’s out but there was only one of these hearses.
@@ZachElder to be fair they have raced much rarer cars than the hearse. At some special meetings they even race 30's cars. They are all very rusted and the restore guys most of the time sold it to the banger people. Most of them are donor cars.

I've heard of being stupid, but these folks display it like it's a trophy!!! Some of those paint jobs take a lot of time just to be smashed, but what is the point of ramming your car into a pile of wrecked cars just to take yourself out of the race?
I guess these are other forms of fun Getting your pants leg caught in a chain saw. Knocking down a wasps nest with your bare hands. Rewiring an electrical socket without turning off the power.

It raced at least one or two more days. After that it went to the scrapper.
