Thank you for such a wonderful demonstration! I love pan pastels but am very intimidated so watching your step by step was fascinating. Beautiful! Thank you!
I am completely new to using pastels and can thank Lindsay, The Frugal Crafter” for introducing me to Pan Pastels. I am enjoying my learning experience! Thank you for this very informative and beautiful painting. .
Loved the picture and watching your method. What kind of fixative did you use? Also, I try to have a light hand with the Sofft tools but still quickly get little sponge bits on my painting. Are there any tricks to keep the sponges on the tools from disintegrating so quickly?
Hi - Thank you. Any conventional pastel fixative spray will work. Please email us regarding the tools as I would like to find out more from you - info@panpastel.com - There is more info on using fixatives at our blog here: paintdrawblend.com/2014/12/fixatives/
Hi there - Joanne used Pastelmat paper for this painting. However PanPastel works with most artist's papers and surfaces. From low tooth (smooth) to high tooth (textured).
The best part of this video , it appears that you are relaxing and having fun.

@@PanPastel I was under the impression Clairfontaine Pastelmat could NOT be successfully sprayed with a fixative??
I can't seem to get rid of the lines even after some brisk blending. Maybe my touch is too strong.

Would love to try this. What size paper are you using?
Hi Nancy - Joanne is using 19.5x27.5" Pastelmat.
Why does Joanne use a white charcoal pencil for wave details rather than a white pastel pencil and/or stick? 🤔
Any of those could also be used for details.
