I would not like to see Dimash in a film unless it's a musical. He is one of the best in music, why wasting his time with other branches of art? He is dancing but he is not a dancer. He is acting but he is not an actor. He is singing and he is music himself.

Ok. I get it. So you want to see if Dimash can be a triple threat? Actually he already done it and more. He can sing like no body else. He can act and he can dance as well. Plus, he is already venturing into directing and also other creative stuff. To tell him not to sing will be a crime.

I agree: he is a very good actor. We see it in all of his music videos. As soon as he put effort into something, he becomes good at it. ❤😊
And people have already approached him about movie roles. He even got a scholarship gifted to him to attend film school in the US.
But he declined everything, because that would take him away from his real love: singing. 😅
He said that he is interested in many things, but his time is limited, so singing will always come first. Even before his other roles as a composer, instrumentalist or producer.
And even though a movie would be wonderful, I can understand him and even agree. To be on his level as a singer requires constant practice and focus. And he already has many other things fighting for his attention. Like the charity work.
It would be a shame, if he had less time for his singing. 😰

I agree with you. Singing is his love. As a DEAR, we have all seen him in”A Story of One Sky” and acted in that short film with the song, “ If I never breathe again,”( I hope I am correct on this one) in China, and the MV on this song. I think he is a terrific actor in these, but doing just acting, would take him away from his dream, purpose, and love. Just my opinion, but it seems many of you agree with this theory. @@debbiepenny465 Well we saw him in "A story of one sky" This guy not so much. He started it 7 mins into the film to jog some memories. This guy always has criticism that never makes any sense. Dimash is a GOAT in singing but yes! Let all that talent & hard work go to waste.

Yes, Dimash himself is the one who plays the Dombra in the song, where everybody thinks, even musicians, that it's a guitar. 😅😅😅

"Under One Sky". As for the movies, I don't think there were any serious offers. My dream from the beginning was a rock opera, like JC Superstar (maybe he could do the whole thing, but he is muslim) Thank you again for the generous sharing of your thoughts.
I would love to see him do just one movie. We've seen his acting ability grow steadily over time, he's become an incredible actor and for all his larger than life performances on stage, his acting is subtle and believable and never over the top.
Even his commercials are great, he has great comic timing too. The only time I've seen him look uncomfortable or not believable is in the new ad for Tiffany where he's supposed to be proposing to a girl.

🤣 Yep, I agree he looks a little uncomfortable with that particular role in the Tiffany commercial. I also would like to see him 1) act in a musical movie where he can sing and 2) also compose the soundtrack for the entire movie. He is going in that direction and working with Nathan Wang on Jackie Chan's new movie soundtrack was a great learning experience for him along with his short film soundtrack for The Story of One Sky.
I found believable. He created a character of someone very rich, self-assured and cold as a diamant.

@@lokieec.r.p.swarrior8740 Mr Harris has been very good to dimash. He has said more wonderful and encouraging things about dimash than most reactors. You, me, the reactors, the dears, even dimash, NONE of us is perfect. If you expect everything to be perfect in order to appreciate someone it will make you a very unhappy person. Mr Harris has said (and shown) multiple times that he loves dimash. Dimash is a very positive and grateful person.
Dimash has already had his role in his short movie, his MASTERPIECE #TheStoryOfOneSky, which took him 3 years to compose the music for. He also wrote the script. He doesn't speak, like actors do, but you can easily see his facial and body expressions. And yes, since I watched that performance, I knew Dimash could be an actor.
He did some pretty good acting in "The Story of One Sky," and in "Okay." He can do it, just not sure that it's something he would want to pursue on a daily basis.

How can you not fall in love with Dimash when he is a good “bad boy”, of course without socks, in (devilish) red and with sensual movements that make the girls dance for him like on strings (like in the performance video) ... and that voice! It gets into you and you become addicted and just want more Dimash. Even evil gangsters forget everything when listening to Agent DQ's “siren song” and just want to dance. (Official Music Video)

Excerpts from the DimashNews (DN) interview with music producer Dmytro Gordon (DG):
DN: Dmytro, for 8 years you have been working alongside Walter Afanasieff in his company WallyWorld as a lead orchestrator and arranger, and you both have also written music for films.
(Dimash's friend and world-famous American music producer Walter Afanassieff plays a small role in the video: He wears a checked blue shirt over a white shirt, baseball cap and sunglasses and is one of the gangsters who drive up in the car and bring the drugs.)
What are the similarities and differences between producing music for renowned artists in the US and working with Dimash?
DG: „I would say that Dimash is much more open to experimentation than any other artist I have had the pleasure of working with so far. When it comes to an established artist with an existing fan base, they and their label are usually very cautious about trying new styles, new vocal techniques or anything that might confuse or alienate their core audience. And that makes sense, but the catch is that after a while their repertoire stagnates.
Dimash is the bravest artist I know to date: he deeply respects and cares about his dears, but he's not afraid to try new things, which he proves time and time again, including his latest releases. On a personal level, our collaboration has also evolved into a friendship, for which I'm forever grateful. It's much more authentic and fun to make music as friends, rather than just as collaborators. Ask the Beatles.
SMOKE... is completely modern, even experimental in certain aspects. Yes, it has an operatic vocalise in the choruses, but the context in which we hear it makes it impossible to pigeonhole it into a genre. It's also minimalist and open when it comes to the vocal melodies, harmonic content and instrumental textures (though it's not easy, and Dimash's unique vocal skills still shine through). Every musical decision in Smoke is super precise: take one thing away, and the song falls apart. Add another element - and it becomes oversaturated. That's how I would describe it.
... It's such a joy and an incredible privilege to work with Dimash, who I truly consider to be one of the best musicians in human history.
And then to receive all the love and gratitude from his fan base just feels heavenly. I'm so grateful to everyone who supported these new releases and who took the risk with us to open their hearts and ears to the new, unknown sides of Dimash. As for the new works - I don't want to spoil any surprises yet. But to quote a classic: «Soon!»

There's actually a MV out of this song that you might want to check out. There's a lot of extra value added putting it in the context of the story. For me it's a lot like "When I've Got You", in that it raises the question, was the MV done for the song, or was the song written to support the concept for the story?

I would love to see him in a movie. I think his acting in Story of One Sky, Okay, and When I’ve Got You was fantastic. He did say in an interview that he has been approached for a movie before but it has to be the right time and right movie. That makes me think it is a possibility

No singing?... don't count on it. I think it would be a waste. Singing is his priority. He talked about acting in a past interview. I can't remember his exact words, but I don't think that is his interest. All that TIME away from his voice, would not benefit his singing.
He has lots of MV. I think that gets his acting itch scratched.
He likes to act, and is good at it.

I'd love to see DQ as the next James Bond , as he has everything required for the role. Of course he may not want that and he may well have his own ideas for a movie career. Another fantastic young singer who would make a beautiful Bond girl is 20 year old Lucy Thomas from the UK. Please consider reacting to her latest video "Unchained Melody" and you'll see what I mean. She's just released her 5th studio album and at the end of the year is due to star in a brand new musical especially written for her on London's West End stage called "Rosie."

I can see him doing a movie playing his agent DQ character, like he does in the OMV for Smoke, also in Be With Me. In that video he showed his martial arts skills, I think I would like to see him do an action movie as agent DQ, and he can do acting & martial arts in that context. I agree that it would be best for him not to sing in the movie, but he could always have some of his singing in the soundtrack...

There are many great actors in the world, far greater than Dimash, but there are no singers as good as him. It's one thing to act in something musical (film, play, MV, whatever), because for him it's not really acting, he feels the music, and it's another to waste time on something in which he will be like thousands of others, and nothing special. Because let's face it - he is no Lawrence Olivier or Anthony Hopkins. This will be at the expense of creating music, singing and giving concerts. If Dimash wanted to do it, he would be doing it by now, but it seems he doesn't want to because he understands all this.
Still, I would like to see him in the movies. He may not be the greatest actor in history, but he is a really good actor. I am sure that in the hands of the right director he can produce a very impressive result in acting.
@@ju1ietta It will cost him a lot of effort to learn roles, he even forgets all the time the lyrics of songs he performed many times already, and to learn long texts that don't even rhyme will be even more difficult. I absolutely see no reason for it. Dimash himself obviously prefers singing, why waste his time and energy and deprive us from his music in order to be mediocre in something else? Just to prove he can? For me personally, it's not worth it.
@@DiaLinwen It's not a question of substitution - either singing or acting. Jared Leto is great at combining both. Personally, I see Dimash’s acting potential. He is very multifaceted, and why not show himself in those areas where he can shine? Of course, vocal activity is a priority. In cinema there is no need to memorize long texts. The only problem I see is the indestructible English accent. Well, let it be a good movie in the Kazakh language 🙏🏻
@@ju1ietta Of course it's your right to want Dimash to act. I just express my opinion. I don't think Dimash can or should be compared to others. I don't remember any expert ever saying that Jared Leto is one of the greatest or the greatest singer in the world. I don't think from what I've seen so far that Dimash is a great enough actor to shine in a role without music, for me it will be a waste of his resources and skills on something he obviously doesn't even really want to do or passionate about, and that many others can do at least as well as he can or even better. Just my opinion of course, he will do what he wants to do anyway, and regardless of what I think, I will support him.
I did not compare the vocal skills of Dimash and Jared Leto. Of course, Dimash is a vocal genius. I only showed, using the example of Jared Leto, that it is quite possible to successfully combine a singing and acting career. And Jared Leto is successful in both, and for this you don’t need to seek the opinion of professionals. Success cannot be hidden, it gets into the eyes. And of course, none of us can tell Dimash what to do. He weighs his own options and, as far as I can tell, he approaches self-assessment with a cool head.

I think Dimash is great at acting. It makes his songs so emotional. I agree that acting in a movie could steal from his singing. In many countries, singers Do act also, and actors sing. They are often great at both, as well as dancing.
I think any movie he did would have to be a musical. I don't think he could go too long without bursting into song!

There is only one Dimash. It's ok. He is great to tier music or commercial. Not my favorite song....but this video makes it work and I keep listening. Innovation always makes you think.
I just don't want him to get lured away from what he does best...classic crossover. But he's young and in his generation. Exploring is fun. Dimash would be wasted in just film. What is the big push about him to go into acting? Looking for a pit fall for him perhaps? Acting music art poetry require different skills. I think musical is better suited.
