- Poet and author Baxter Black appeared onstage at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum on Feb. 24th, 2012. The audience went away aching from laughter. Don Reeves was able to catch up with him backstage right before Baxter's brilliant performance.

Baxter Black is the kind of personality you want to live on forever. And with his poems he will.
Oh gawd, I just found Baxter…….and just weeks later, he was called back home, so to speak. I will miss this talented warm hearted man.
Having met him back in 89, found there is someone as goofy as I. Thank Baxter.
