- Jeb would like to show you how to grow your own hydroponic cilantro or coriander. This one is indoor and Kratky style to hopefully avoid bolting.

Perfect balance of dry humor and music selection. Love it.
Thanks!
Agreed!!
Half Full Jay "the back seat is the safest place for your plant babies."
Wow, four months of growth (and patience) condensed into 11 mins. You can NEVER have too much cilantro Jeb. Nice job.
Thanks. This video's been burning a hole in my pocket for a while now.
unsure what the seed amount waslike, but hopefully that offsets it a bit x3
We love your videos, and fear you a little bit.....
I'm a very nice person.
Awe! Come on. He couldn't even kill his baby cilantro plant and let it go to flower.
lol
@@JebGardener For a second there, I thought you were secretly Tim Robbins. War of Worlds ;)
Great video! I'm starting my cilantro now.
Oddly My is James, My Daughter is Ashy. Yupper spelling on purp😉🧐😎👴
You have a great narration style. Very relaxing, and definitely informative. Thank you.
That's very kind of you. Watch my hydroponic carrot video and let me know if you are still relaxed!
lol
And slightly creepy lol
I agree...
@@JebGardener hi jeb, question for you, if i wanted to do this with a less expensive LED bulb or panel, would that be possible? What would you recommend? Thanks.
I'm so glad I found this channel 😂
Ashley B really
I think jeb is the one who found this channel
No kidding. I am absolutely in fucking tears. :D
I soaked some seeds last night and said "I am Jeb". The seeds sprouted in morning with terror !
i dont even know how i got here but i ended up watching all ur videos also i love you
I just love listening to your narration and sometimes worry when you say things like : it looks delicious. You sound like a giant going to kill a helpless person. There are many moments like that and I think I am listening to a story of a giant.
Dude, I love what you do. "But I am going on vacation next week, so..., they are going to have to manage." You are the king of the office my man. Keep it up, You are actually inspiring to grow in my apartment.
"I have no idea if it's helpful or necessary to pull these seed pods off. I do it anyway, though... Makes me feel like I'm actually doing some work to help the plant grow."
This is my new favorite channel. 11/10
omg i love this take on gardening!!!!
Thanks!
you are definitely as crazy as you look. You are a mad scientist! Amazing work!
i want to know whether that lamp burn day and night?
“Im crazy..” yup, no kidding! “..about cilantro” oh right, yea that
yeah!
Your videos make me feel like I'm watching an episode of Dexter.
This growing method seems so advanced yet dirt-cheap easy at the same time. My brain is having a gigantic mindgasm from this.
This growing technique seems nearly revolutionary. It should be used much more often and be known by more people.
Yeah it's called the Kratky method, named after a professor from Hawaii.
@Easy Peasy technically, the method has nothing to do with growing local, but the kratky method takes out all the difficulty of hydroponics no pumps no flood and drain timers. The rockwool is terrible for you though, so dont harvest too close to the cube, but its also a great inert media
just start doing it! i love it
A variation of this is used on the ISS for lettuce
lol after watching 2 video from you, i hit subscribe. So entertaining videos and funny.
Who said gardening is boring and i will be sharing your videos.
thanks!
*fan looks away in shame after you blame it*
hmm people telling me plants have feelings, now I have to worry about mechanical equipment?
Jeb Gardener, indeed.
🤣🤣🤣
Since I have such a problem getting calm and meditating this is the ultimate alternative for me, I discovered Jeb Gardener just a week ago and have already watched this one 3 times. Love the music and his humoristic aspect.
That’s great!
If you love the flavor of cilantro there is another plant that tastes exactly like cilantro just a much stronger cilantro flavor. It's called culantro or shado beni Many West Indians mince into a savory seasoning blend along with garlic, onion, spring onions and whatever else suits the taste. Just thought to share that little tidbit with a fellow cilantro lover.😆
i have heard of that. it would be nice to try sometime
Thanks. I just tracked some seeds down to try here in New Zealand
My grandmother planted some culantro in our backyard and it became a pretty invasive weed. I became a seasoned mower. Lol
Marcos Laborde oh thanks for the heads up. I better plant it in a pot then
Also called Recao. Delicious and a pain to grow outside in my area.
Jeb, I thought I was the only one. I seriously love Cilantro. Thanks for the video. I just started indoor growing and your videos are vital.
This dude is INSANE, I love it.
cool
Love your plant sense of humor and narrative style!
Well, that was the most entertaining gardening video I've ever seen!
that's great
I love the logic behind your experimentation, it contains both a good selection of logical components and a system to pick out the best ones relative to the situation at hand, quite usable for the rest of the stuff in the world and I do mean all of it
keep it up also I cant believe a gardener could make me laugh so hard
You are a genius!!!
This man is precious and must be protected at all costs
Awe cute your wifey left such a sweet comment.
Is all edible, roots, flowers, everything. Amazing! Thank you for sharing.
how could you not love that mixture of craziness, facts, interesting testing, weird smiles, random commentary and actual passion xD
I just love your personality. 💖💖💖
Oh that's so nice. Thank you.
I love your videos, especially the hydroponic ones! I just started my first kratky mason jars yesterday, based on your videos. Thanks for the valuable information!
thanks teri
Your passion for just kinda winging it and seeing what will happen is totally what keeps me coming back for more.
I love your careless humor it's amazing
Jeb, I have watched this video a few times already and still love it! Plus, I pick up more info every time; just goes to show that you pack a lot of important info in that might take a few viewings to absorb. Thank you for your humor, music selections, and helpful information. :-D
Thanks
great video, jeb. makes me wanna start kratkying right away. btw, cilantro roots are delicious. great in soups or stirfry.
I'll have to try that. I guess you can just wash off the nutrients and cook em up? Do you dice them finely?
try tomyum soup for it.. if you can stand the heat :-)
@@JebGardener In Thai cooking they also use the stems and crush them up for the flavor.
I don't believe I'll be leaving this channel soon, already learned so much and laughed even more.
Good
love the delivery with the music, one of best growing videos....
" don't forget the back seat is the safest place for your plant babies." - Jeb
Very funny as always :) Great video
Your love of plants, reminds me of my best friend and Grandpa that passed a while ago, though, you make me feel like there's part of him left in this world, and that is the love for plants. Thank you for that.
This was the funniest hydroponics video I've seen! I thoroughly enjoyed it, thanks for sharing
Dude I totally pull off those seed hulls!
Yeah no way I can leave that stuff on there.
This is epic! Love these videos! You deserve more subs!
Thanks!
"Oh yeah." This has to be my favorite channel at the moment. I just love your videos, they crack me up. Thanks for adding the nutrient solution formulas too..
Thank you
I love the way you narrate the growth of your cilantro, from seed to harvesting to flowering, very amusing and entertaining.. love the music too.. from a fellow cilantro lover too! 🍀
Loved watching the video. 😀
lol Plant babies. I had buckled my tomato plant in the Back seat as well. I named it Sid.Sid made a lot of tasty tomatoes. Yum.
That’s amazing!!! Great growing man!!! Highly appreciate all of your outstanding efforts. Thanks a lot with love blessings and prayers for sharing.

Hey I think I saw you on Forensic Files...
Great job, love the videos. New sub!
Holy shit I love this. I love the editing style. The calm relaxing yet informative commentary. The music you put in. Love all the close ups. You might be my new favourite RUclipsr.
thanks!
THIS IS THE BEST .... thank you for making this !!! Made my quarantine
Your the reason I got into gardening.
That's awesome!
Same
My cilantro is getting its true leaves and so are my cucumbers. And my tomatoes just sprouted😂
YoitsLeilani how are you're garden doing? It's been six months haha did you eat the tomato?
"Don't forget....the back seat is the best place for plant babies." 5:51
Why did I giggle
I only watch gardening shows on RUclips. Your show is really different than everyone else. I like it a lot.
Thanks Jasmine!
Jeb, you’re awesome! You keep on being you. Your videos are full of information, entertaining, and I love your narration style.🤪
the music...I'm dying :D
reactions as you watch: Oh wow this is helpful.. -> Oh, okay.. This is still interesting. -> you madman
Gotta love the videography and the script! Subbed and like for that! 😍
Cheers to plentiful harvest! 🥂
This is so chill it's almost therapeutic. Great jeb.
Thanks commodore
I never saw this particular video before, but somehow your love for cilantro didn't come as a surprise... thanks so much for your work, I shared with many friends! Possible to send you conspicuous seeds ... I'd love to send you some japanese shiso? Have a nice day :-)
Sure. Email me.
Goddamnit I thought I found a hobby to make me less weird and this guy ruined it for me. Now I’m gonna start teaching my peppers how to drive when they’re old enough and play poker with my tomatoes.
Lovely! This is so amazing, relaxing and appetizing! Thihihi....Thank you Jeb.
Now this is an informative video with a variety. Usually when others dish up their's with electronic/dj music, and bad narration, this felt like a breath of fresh air. With a creepy undertone that's going to stick in back of the head for a while to come. :D
I'm a fan.
I'm trying a tiny Tim tomato in a kratky mason jar for fun. Plant gets 12" tall.
Nice!
@@JebGardener have you thought about doing an into to indoor hydroponics for those who are getting enthused by your channel? Like why you chose rockwool vs coco coir, what not to grow if you can't transplant, when to take stuff out if there's too much growing, etc.. I have a black thumb and things are growing and now I'm scared to touch it!
You actually blew my mind when I found out coriander comes from cilantro plants.
Yeah I think the proper name for the whole plant is coriander but most people call it cilantro here.
cool to know, I'm thinking about starting a soilless garden in my bedroom. So your videos are an awesome reference.
You are my favorite youtuber right now, thank you Jeb
that's awesome!
Thanks Jeb, your videos are truly great.
what do you use for a nutrients mix?
2:31
2:25 ;-) (I really like the intro, lol)
Hey Jeb do you know what ppm that works out to?
I wish I could taste cilantro the way everyone else tastes it. To me, it tastes like soap. Apparently its a genetic thing.
MNDA, it's genetic you're right. If you have done a DNA test at any of the companies, myheritage, ancestry, FTDNA, 23 and me, etc. You can find out if you've got the gene for that. I don't have it & apparently my genetic relatives are 11% less likely to taste soap... Who knew? (Can you not eat Indian or Mexican food?)
Your videos are informative and just plain fun. Keep up the good work.
Tchaikovsky and coriander hydroponics... made my afternoon :-)
your videos turn me on lmao its a perfect mix of education/intelligence/humor/light heartedness and well you're a DILF lmao
Wait. Black paint prevents algae? 🤯🤯🤯
it could
Green algae needs light for energy to grow, paint can block that
@@EvilPineappl so glass wouldn't be the way to go? I put them in glass cups and then cut an X in the top of these empty leftover cardboard tea canisters from Yaupon brothers (it's the tea/ plant native to the US) and put the glass inside. So it's growing out of the x/hole in the lid - they are the plug things with plastic from aerogarden's grow anything kit so they fit snug in the X. They're really decorative, but I was going to buy mason jars as shown in his videos.. but are you saying it's better to drink more tea to have leftover containers? 😉
Hard to say, Jeb's jars did end up with some algae growth but it didn't seem to matter.
You could always put some of your plants in jars and leave some in the tea containers, then you can find out which works better for you.
Your videos always make me laugh. Funny timing as well because I just started some hydroponic cilantro as well.
I love cilantro too ... and I keep smiling watching your video😊
Why do you remind me of shoenice
I have a little imitation of your artistry going on down here in San Diego. I got two coriander seeds started in one rockwool, made a little slit down the side, removed secondary sprout, and put in another rockwool that I similarly slit down the side. So proud of all my babies. Thanks for the awesome videos.
cool!
Really cool your sense of humor and the video 👌
I have to say perfect humor, music, info, and tone of voice. perfect
thanks!
always enjoy watching your hydroponic adventures
Jeb is secretly a god of gardening and is sorta... messing with the laws of nature to entertain humans. Because he can. And likes his plants.
This was just beautiful. Some unexpected twists and turns in there, too.
thanks paul
You crack me up! I also LOVE me some cilantro. It comes up from seed all over my garden. Have never grown anything in water. Good job!
I just wanna say this, these videos bring me some real joy.. something spectacular is happening in every video and he’s still such a goof I love it

You have to be the coolest gardener that I have ever seen

I admire your artistic abilities. Made something i wouldnt normally be captivated by interesting
Why was this so entertaining and beautiful to watch
Jeb Jeb Jeb, you are one of a kind! Have been watching your videos for about a week now, and somehow you give me a vibe that you'll be reading this comment on a 3.5-year-old video.
Mr Jeb! New to this channel... What an amazing channel! The pacing - the music - the growth! Here to stay! :-)
So green and beautiful !!! I LOVE cilantro.
