As a texans fan, cj hasn't been playing great. But he's been playing good enough for us to win most of these games if not for the o line and penalties
Its been slowiks trash play calling.. dude isn't what we thought he was.. stroud struggles come from the oline and from holding the damn way too long!!. Also the defense is trash when it comes to big plays and playing in the second half.
He is also turnovers crazy... dude hasn't thrown some of the dumbest picks ever..
O line and play callin is the worst of all teams in the league. We had two false starts in a row when we were in a position to win, that ended up putting us in third and impossible. Who was responsible? Mason and Mr. Gas mask.

He doesn’t trust his OL, and you can see it. I do think the offense overall has been figured out, so it’s contributing to Strouds poor play. They’re good, but not great, not there yet.
I agree fam..slowik runs a dumb down version of the 49ers offense....defenses have taking away the middle of the field..plus they cant run da ball effectively..guard issues... slowik gotta add some wrinkles to keep defenses on their toes

@@jamesroberts1810yeah, a lot of plays are heavily reliant on the players talent making it happen. Got to make it easy on your players and draw things up. That being said, I do think CJ hasn’t played well and is currently going through a rough sophomore slump.
CJ doesn't call the protections, which only makes his trust of the line worse. Texans should spend the offseason changing their system and teaching CJ to call the protections. Most teams have the QB do it for a reason, they need confidence in what the protection is going to be each play.

He’s been sacked the 2nd most in the NFL with the 23rd best O line. Texans’ front five ranks 27th in pass-block and 28th in run-block win rate. So that could be why.

Texans fan here, our O Line is awful and CONSTANTLY gets multiples penalties putting us behind the sticks. But also CJ hasn't been playing well the few moments he does actually get time. Two things can be true.

It's a combination of things. OL, Nico & Diggs being out. Tank Dell trying to get back from the injury, Penalties ... Etc. But, CJ's accuracy/ball placement has been off. He's been missing easy throws and killing drives. Throwing alot of balls low and short

The NFL got a full year of film on him. It’s a lot different than last year. Teams didn’t know you well yet.
not trying to give CJ an excuse but the interior O-line has been awful Diggs and Nico have been out and Bobby Slowik's playcalling has been awful. The league figured his scheme out and he refuses to adjust for it. As of right now the Texans might be one and done in the playoffs.

That’s true but Mahomes has been shown to be able string together multiple great years. Even in a Mahomes low season (this year especially) they can win, Houston can’t really win without CJ stroud doing well and it’s also not the same because Mahomes has a bigger sample size including wining championships. CJ doesn’t have enough of a NFL resume yet. You can’t just always compare to Mahomes to make him not seem like it’s not that bad..

The O Line is what's really the problem they have so many penalties EVERY DAMN GAME they can't block for nothing and when they do actually block and CJ makes a big play it gets called back for holding or not lining up right. Literally there's been 7 passing touchdowns that's gotten called back because of the O Line. The O Line gotta be avg 8-10 penalties a game, it's really that bad.

This is a welcome to the league moment for CJ. He shocked everyone his first year but they had an off season to watch film of him. Now it’s on him to overcome that. I believe in him and think he’ll get better with more experience but it sure as hell ain’t gonna be easy.
Unk is straight-up trippin, my God. Stroud had an unprecedented season last year as a rookie and that's putting it lightly. This is why it drives me insane when analysts try and say maybe *insert name* will have a season like C.J. Stroud did. It's simply unrealistic. To put those type of expectations on him was not realistic with all of the adversity this Texans offense has been through this year. Stroud will be right back to dominating the league next year.

H-Town resident and fan here. I aint worried about CJ. He'll be alright long-term . It's been a rough year, with O-line, receivers been out, along with Cj not being as precise as we normally see from him.. But, with that being, Cj is a pro and takes his craft serious. He'll be alright and bounce back.
Gotta tear down that whole O Line. Tunsil has become a liability, we got guys getting injured and also making undisciplined errors. We need to draft a guard with our top pick. We could use a stud DB too to put back there with Stingley.

UnC is becoming a problem. CJ is in his second season. Tom Brady first year had 18 TD and 12 interceptions. The following year he had 28 TDs and 14 INTs. The year after he had 23 TDs and 12 INTs. I’m just saying. CJ will improve. Despite the struggles you can still see that some of the mistakes are correctable.
