Remove the fairing brackets from the tank, take off the bulky muffler mounts (both sides) The left side radiator section to the thermostat needs to be tucked in. You really took the easy way out. The seat could have been cut off shorter and the grab rail kept and remounted. All the original lighting fixtures should have been kept. that muffler makes the bike sound like 125cc two stroke. The originals are fine but can be angled upwards with a section of 30 degree bracket additions.
@@o0calvert0o You posted your work. I reworked a 2002 EX500 and have no need. So I do have a life. You might check your own agenda. You were lazy in not taking the brackets off the tank. Can you admit it. It looks tacky. It just suggests strippin off the easy stuff and putting a crappy muffler is you idea of doing "work".
Where did you get the 2 into 1 exhaust? I'm looking for the exact same setup, but have almost come to the conclusion that i'm going to have to build it myself. Any pointers you have would be much appreciated!
Do you happen to have any pictures of the engine? I am building a Gokart with this engine and i need a lot of help with the wiriring its currently a mess
im new to bikes and picked up my first, a ex500, its been laid over on both sides, will it lean out if i change out the beat up mufflers with slip ons but stock air cleaner ?
Looks great. What year was it? 2009? One question, how well did that aftermarket speedo work? (I'm assuming it's a speedo and not a tack). Also, I notice that you don't have anything measuring the temp. Have you tried the radiator cap with a temp sensor in it yet? If so, how did that work out? I have a 2004 EX500R and am trying to source all the parts that have worked before I start unbolting stuff. What headlight did you use?? Thanks
Thanks. It's actually a 1988 model and the speedo works perfectly fine. I don't have anything measuring the temperature and just found the headlight on ebay.
hi I'm just wondering how you manage to get the battery in without the airbox as that's what holds it and did you have any complications putting cones on
MAgnifique !! Wonderfull result! and what a rebuilt man ! :) How did you join the two parts of the exaust? (sorry for my english...) I 've got the same and i would like to use only one silencer ^^ Bye and congrats for your job!
+PedrolitO Le Mécano Motard HiThanks for your comments, I appreciate it. I bought the exhaust complete from Ebay. They still sell them. Its called Delkevic and is on for £249.99. Andy
I have to do this to mine, it's gorgeous.
Amazing bro

Did you really just take time out of your day to comment this drivel on a 5 year old video? The bike is long gone. Get a grip John

Did the clip-ons affect the amount of available steering lock?
Hello, I really want to transform my ex500r into this, Can u give a full parts list? Thanks it would help so so much!
were did you get that seat from?
Hey whats your tires size? Do you need to do any modification in order to fit them?
Do you happen to have any pictures of the engine? I am building a Gokart with this engine and i need a lot of help with the wiriring its currently a mess
hi nice bike. do you have this build documented anywhere? thanks

It depends on how open the sip ons are to stock. Usually it's okay if the slip on comes from a trusted company.
