Cookie cutter SUV's and four door station wagon trucks these days are for the birds. At least back then, you could tell the difference between a Ford, a Chevy or a Chrysler Corporation product.

Those guys back then were some great designers, having the door handles hiding in the body moulding like that is so simple but so brilliant!!

It reminds me of a Tatra from the back. Pretty neat, and nice to see it's unmodified.

That Nash has the look of a old bumper car from the fair, really cool look

Love the '49-'51 Nash. Reminds me of the old Superman TV series. Everyone drove Nashs including the Police. Lois Lane drove a Rambler Convertible and the window frames were permanently upright!

@bobwoodkat I couldn't agree more. You find so many subtle and interesting details on cars of that era.

@JOHNINCOLUMBUS That's cool that he had a Nash. Packards were some of the finest cars around too. Thanks for taking a look at this old Nash.

@paradoxdesigns I agree, a lot of today's cars look bland in comparison. Thanks for watching!

@805ROADKING They really do look like bumper cars. You may be right, some of them may have been modeled after the Nash.

Now others of this model had OHV rater then flathead engines, was the other engine optional? I'm starting to really like these models, they were a very different car for the times, unibody, built large but with economy in mind as well as being very innovative in design. I like the earlier models instrument pod a little better is all. the "Uniscope" was seriously cool!

@koioo2 I wish more U.S. car manufactures would have survived until today. It would have been interesting to have a little more variety.

@RamblinAround - My Aunt Marie had a Packard as well, hers was dark blue while ours was more of a light sky blue. I remember the hood ornament, it was a bird standing with it's head up, look up 1951 Packard Patrician hood ornament to see what I mean.
    Great videos...thanks again!

When I was very, very young, maybe 3 or 4, my father had a Nash, I have a picture of the back of the car, it was a beige color, then he had a Packard, then back to Ramblers '61 then '63...that was a long time ago.

Went to the car show and it was a bust. Rained the whole time grrrrr. But they had a Nash Statesman Custom there. I want to say it was a 57. It was for sale and they were asking $5,700 for it.
