In this interview and in the WIR dave was keen to stress that the programming need not be centre stage and "old school" workouts were the way. After I heard him volunteer that thought for a second time in a short period I wondered if this was paving the way for no running no swimming no biking no obstacle course no strong man fear etc at the games

But…Dave programmed swimming every year from 2011 to 2021. 2023 was the only year without swimming since 2010.

I agree, I think it's code for that. If there's money I'd think that the longer the Games go on the more novelty and variation would be needed to keep up the excitement in this fairly boring sport. And real cross-fitness requires some specific modalities to be tested so there can't be philosophical reasons not to do certain events (only financial).

This pool is owned by the city of Ft. Worth so they would likely give them access to their newly renovated public pool for free.

@@thebarbellspin My general prediction is that Berkshire will keep the competition as compact as possible (therefore cheaper and replicable). No swimming. They will run around the venue in one event.
