However I think sbe and gtb still got it. I jumped on the wave in 2013 and have been a hardcore fan, and I don't think anyone has done it better. Lean and his gang has done A LOT for the industry and style today, both fashion and production wise.

Bentley, nervous, Beijing really give me that vibe businessman vibe, and ice dancer gives me a cyberpunk feel. It's the type of music I'd proudly define the future of music on. Do note though that we can agree it's definitely a dystopian cyberpunk style of music, mixed with some psychedelic trance. I say arcade because I think of all those early 2000s avatars, with flashing neon lights, with a bright 16bit atmosphere. I say it's perhaps going to lead onto a new design movement. We've had a Bauhaus, Dada, Brutalist etc approach to design, but we are yet to properly inculcate the cyber design into society *fully* nevermind music. Exciting yet so uncertain times ahead!
I swear for years I’ve explained my infatuation with Bladee by comparing his style of rap to shoegaze and you’re the first person I’ve heard echo those sentiments.
when I first heard icedancer it felt like a return to the more haphazard and lighthearted side of gluee but with the polish and more well considered structure of his stuff like Red Light or Eversince. really appealed to me as a long time drainer who really loved his recent stuff but was nostalgic for the bucket hats and Arizona tea days
would of been nice to mention goth money, more importantly black kray, during this video aswell. i feel like both drain gang and goth money fan bases are tightly connected
man tiger got it's own sound. it definitely is the hardest drain project to get into imo but when/if u get it it becomes so amazing. the way thaiboy's vocals work with the beats is just unexplainable.
You like Drain Gang? Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when D&G came out in '17 I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. They've been compared to Gothboiclique, but I think Bladee has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
Thaiboy's flexing in his lyrics has always been a part of his music, go listen to songs like haters broke, 2 seats, Ferragamo gold, 2 the starz and you'll realize that Thaiboy's lyrics have always differed from the rest of the collective in this way. Thaiboy does have some sad songs like hopeless, and moon girl but I would say that the majority of his discography is made up of lyrics where he flexes, and this makes sense considering that he's stated that he wanted to be like Soulja Boy.
Great video, Red Light and Eversince are two of my favourite albums ever and masterpieces in my eyes, it’s been good to see their come up over the years 🙏

I’ve been listening to drain gang since 2014, their music has helped me throughout the end of 8th grade and the entirety of highschool these past 6 years and now I’m on my way to college. I’m really happy they’re becoming even more popular to the point where if they’re mentioned some drainers will pop up. Being a drainer back then was the greatest experience ever and I can’t ever thank these guys enough
D&G is hands down their best project as a collective. it embodies everything that makes their sound so unique and everyone contributes their uniqueness to make an amazing drain album. and it has their most accessible and amazing set of individual tracks into one album. side note: its my album of the decade
