For the curious, that little brown playhouse-looking building in the lobby is a gingerbread house! It's made of real gingerbread, chocolate, icing, etc. It's so big that two Disney employees work inside of it, selling gingerbread men, peppermint bark, and other holiday treats from a little walk-up counter! It's very popular with locals, and usually has long lines. (My family usually visits a couple of times during the season.)
It's also a big tradition among the locals to get a family photo in front of the Christmas tree. Grand Floridian is a big part of Christmas in Orlando!

Great video it looks wonderful! We've never stayed at Grand Flo but we've eaten in Narcoossee's a few times ,(on the dining plan) and love it for the fireworks. We used to have breakfast at 1900 Park Fare every time we went when the children were younger. Many happy memories!

It would drive me mad that there was no bedside table both sides and for the money the scuffed furniture would be disappointing however I like the size of the room and the view is lovely over the lake. I’ve only seen GF in passing on the monorail but that bought back memories. What a lovely walk to MK.
Oh the walk is sooooo beautiful! I could have spent longer by the lake but it was early entry to MK so had to drag myself away 😂
@@TravelBlogJamie absolutely don’t want to miss early entry!! Oh to walk up Main st and smell the cinnamon buns and coffee before the crowds!

@@lorenzomag100 well Matthew isn’t keen on being photographed or in videos so it’s better to humour him than anything else 😂 He always is having to wait for me to take pics / film so I can see why that’s annoying 😂

How easy was it to self cater/semi self catering with the kitchenette? Did you find you had enough space?
We prefer the 1 bedroom villas for the full kitchen but as a kitchenette we only ever used it for fresh coffee / toast - tended to eat out at this resort although brought breakfast back to room from Gasparilla Grill one morning: it doesn’t have enough facilities to cook fully / successfully in my opinion

Tables are dented from people lowering bed onto tables.😂

I’ve always wondered about this hotel and def think I’d give it a try in the future. Do you think it would be too warm in the summer without windows?
